Finally, Buhari’s Ministers Get Portfolios (See Full List)

President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday announced the much-anticipated portfolios of ministers, immediately after they were inaugurated at the State House, Abuja.

Buhari confirmed what many felt prior to the

announcement – that he would keep the petroleum ministry for himself, choosing to name Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.

Many Nigerians had expected immediate-past Governor of Rivers State, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, to get the Niger Delta ministry but were disappointed as lesser-known Pastor Usani Uguru got the honour of heading the ministry supervising the area producing Nigeria’s largest

revenue earner – oil.

The immediate-past Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola, SAN got the the combined Power, Works and Housing ministry, perhaps for what has come to be regarded as his excellent work managing the affairs of the nation’s commercial capital.
