Shocking: Lagos Bans Street Hawking, Buying; Defaulters To Be Jailed |PoliFocus
Lagos State government has declared that it would start total enforcement against street hawkers and buyers starting from yesterday, The Sun reports.
Making the declaration during a live interview session on TVC , a Lagos based TV station yesterday, the state governor, Mr Akinwumi Ambode said henceforth both buyer and hawker will be liable to a fine of N90,000 or a six months jail.

Gideon Aremu, Chairman, Oyo State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Security, has been shot to death by gunmen at his residence.

English Premier League club, Watford FC, have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker, Isaac Success, for a club record transfer fee thought to be around £12.5m.

FG, CCECC Sign $11.117 Billion Lagos-Calabar Rail Contract |PoliFocus
The Federal Government yesterday signed an agreement with the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar coastal railway line at $11.117billion, Guardian reports.
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi said the first segment of the rail line, which comprises Calabar, Uyo, Aba and Port-Harcourt will be ready within two years.

The minister who disclosed this at a business forum organized by the Royal African Society in London, citeda recent report by the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan, which says Nigeria’s current core infrastructure stocks gap was estimated at $80 billion.
