Bayelsa election: Di*kson sets to break two-term tenure jinx as he leads with over 60 percent of votes announced

Incumbent Gov. of Bayelsa, Seriake D*ckson
The Bayelsa State governorship rerun election seems to have been won by the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Information reaching DAILY POST says the party’s candidate and incumbent Governor, Hon. Seriake D*ckson, is in a comfortable lead with sixty-two percentof the total votes cast across the state.

Party chieftains are in celebration mood as PDP scored over 11,000 of the 14,445 rerun votes counted. This leaves the major opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC), with nearly 3000 votes from the figures released so far.

In total, PDP now leads the Bayelsa governorship election with about 40,000 votes.

If Dickson is declared winner, it would mean that he has broken the two-tenure jinx.

The governor made a clean sweep of Amassoma, the home town of the state’s first elected governor, late DSP Alamieyeseigha.

Saturday’s election was characterized by violence in some areas in Southern Ijaw local government areas of Ekeremor and Nembe.
