The wife of Super Eagles midfielder Fegor Ogude, Memunat, has regained her freedom from kidnappers.
Memunat was abducted a few days ago in Warri, Delta State, leaving Ogude and several of his Nigeria colleagues worried.
But late on Sunday night, U-23 Eagles media officer Timi Ebikagboro, who is close to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, announced that Fegor’s wife was no longer in captivity.
“To God be the glory, the wife of SE player Fegor Ogude, Memunat, has been released, she was released minutes ago, and is now with her family,” Ebikagboro tweeted around 10pm Sunday night.
Memunat was the second high-profile sports person’s relative kidnapped in recent times, following the abduction of U-23 Eagles head coach Samson Siasia’s mother.
