US Visa Applicants To Be Asked For Social Media History - State Department |PoliFocus

Travelers to the United States will soon have to submit their social media identities, previous telephone numbers and email addresses, a measure that could touch 10 million people per year.

According to a State Department plan published Friday, visa seekers -- whether visitors or would-be immigrants -- will be presented with a list of social media platforms.

EFCC Arraigns A Chinese Arrested At The Airport For Smuggling N108m |PoliFocus

Li Yanping, a Chinese national has been arraigned by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), before Justice Babatunde Quadri of a Federal High Court, Abuja, for reportedly hiding the sum of $300,000 (N108m) while attempting to board a flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The EFCC said in a statement that Yanping failed to inform officers of the Nigerian Customs Service as required by Section 2 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012).

Malala Yousafzai Returns To Pakistan For The First Time Since Attack In 2012 |PoliFocus

Nearly six years after being shot in the face and neck by the Taliban for advocating for the rights of girls, 20-year-old Malala Yousafzai returned Thursday to Pakistan, CNN affiliate GEO reported.

According to CNN, Yousafzai, the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, is expected to meet Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while she is in Islamabad, where the city is on high alert for security due to her visit.

Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.

In 2012, an assailant from the Pakistani Taliban attacked 14-year-old Yousafzai and her classmates in their school bus in Mingora in Pakistan's Swat Valley.

Severely wounded, Yousafzai was taken by helicopter from one military hospital in Pakistan to another, where doctors placed her in a medically induced coma so an air ambulance could fly her to Great Britain for treatment.

Nigeria has been urged by The United Nations (UN) to relax laws restricting usage of Marijuana to allow its prescription for Nigerians. This is following the approval of Indian hemp for medical purposes by the UN.

The UN also pushed against the criminalisation of hard drugs’ use, noting that those addicted to them are sick and need treatment, care and rehabilitation.
