The news which seems to have gotten to the ears of the rapper has brought smiles down Ruggedman’s face as he replied that he holds no grudges against the singer.

Ruggedman stated that he has settled whatever beef he had with the singer long ago. “I settled my end of it years ago.”

Shocking: Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo looses N8m To H*ckers

h*ckers Steal N8m From Osinbajo’s Bank Account

Policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery
Squad (SARS) Ikeja are investigating an alleged theft of N8million from Vice Pres ident Yemi Osinbajo’s bank account.

It was gathered that two undergraduate students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka identi fied as Ebuka Orumba and Patrick Nwafor allegedly hacked into the account of Simmons Cooper Partner, a law firm said to belong to Vice President Osinbajo and allegedly stole eight million naira (N8miilion) from it.

According to investiga tion, the undergraduates
Nwafor is a final year 500level student of Envi
ronmental Science while Orumba is a final year
Computer Engineering student.

It was gathered that the students used fraudulent means to h*ck into the email of the Account manager of the VP’s law firm, one Mr. Tunde Irukera, and they allegedly sent a mail to UBA PLC branch to one Obuba Fidelia on July 2nd instructing the bank to transfer eight mil lion naira from Simmions Cooper Bank account to three different bank ac counts they
opened for the fraud.

It was further gathered that the undergraduates
allegedly connived with a tricycle rider one Artor Kalu to open a bank ac count with Zenith bank account number 2086943174 where three million naira
(N3,000,000) was trans ferred to with the false name Engineer Asukwo Okoro.

The remaining amounts were said to have been
transferred to two other unnamed bank accounts.
Luck however ran out on the undergraduates when their alleged gang member, Mr. Kalu went to the Zenith bank account at Mushin to withdraw the N3,000,000 but was nabbed by detectives from SARS following a tip off from the bank.

The police subsequent ly arrested Kalu and fol lowing his statement, the police arrested Orumba but Nwafor escaped.
Following the investiga tion, the police discovered that Kalu with the help of others got a fake Driver’s license which he used to open the Zenith Bank ac count.

The police has since charged Orumba and Kalu to court on a 5 count charge on conspiracy, stealing and fraud while efforts is on to arrest Nwafor whom the others claimed to be the master mind of the fraud.

Ministerial Screening: Read Full text of Amaechi's Speech at the Senate Yesterday

Full text of Amaechi's Speech at the Senate

Below is the text

Good morning.
It is a rare pleasure to stand before you distinguished Senators in this hallowed chambers. I am deeply humbled and honoured to have been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve in the office of a
Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

My name is Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and I am the immediate past governor of Rivers State. Before then, I had served as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly for two terms of eight years and as Chairman, Conference of Speakers, for two tenures.

I am
perhaps the first Nigerian to have served as
Speaker of a State House of Assembly, for eight years.
I served as Governor of Rivers State for two
terms during which period, I had the honour
and privilege to serve my colleagues as
Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, for
two terms. Taken together, whether as Governor
or as Speaker, these two career paths tell a story
of public service.

During my tenure as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, we achieved a lot. Some key bills were passed like the Anti Kidnapping Law and the Rivers States Schools Rights (Parent, Children and Teachers) Law. However, my most fulfilling moment as Speaker was the passage of the Rivers State Schools Rights (Parent, Children and Teachers) law, No. 2 of 2005. This bill clearly enunciated and defined the responsibilities of parents, teachers and children to guarantee our children access to qualitative education.

As Governor, we inherited a state that was
comatose and in the throes of insecurity. Rivers
State bore the fault lines of the Niger Delta
militancy. Our immediate task was therefore to
restore security and improve the social and
economic well being of our people. Ours was a
two-pronged approach of fiscal and physical security.

Whilst we confronted criminality with aggressive law enforcement measures, we embarked on massive social and infrastructural development.

We declared an emergency in the education
sector that guaranteed free and compulsory
education up to secondary school level. During
my tenure as Governor, we awarded the
construction of some 500 primary schools. 314
of these were 100 percent completed while
others were virtually completed by the time we
left office in May 2015.

We undertook the training and recertification of teachers already in the service of the state and employed over 13,000 new teachers. Our efforts and investments in the education sector did not go unnoticed as Port Harcourt won the UNESCO
World Book Capital city for 2014, beating cities
like Moscow and Oxford.

In the area of healthcare delivery, we built over
140 primary healthcare centres, three secondary
healthcare facilities, employed 400 doctors and
200 nurses to improve the manpower in the
healthcare sector.

Anyone who visited Port Harcourt while we served, will testify to the fact that we worked to bring back the old glory of Port Harcourt as the garden and city as the third leg in the economic tripod of Nigeria.

We built a dualised network of 1500 Kilometres
of roads, 23 bridges, 2 major fly-overs and 2
interchanges.
In the area of power, of the 350 Megawatts
(MW) total capacity generation assets invested
by the government before ours, only 70MW
(equivalent to about 20 per cent) was available.
With enthusiasm, we ramped up the efficiency
to 77 per cent availability including injecting
another 360MW Green Field Generation Project
at Afam.

That massive investment is partly the
reason why today, residents in Port Harcourt
enjoy almost 24 hours of electricity supply.
On the whole, Mr. President of Senate, I say
with pride that during our stewardship of eight
years we consistently maintained our pledge to
our people to render transparent and
accountable stewardship.”

To guarantee that we did not deviate from that pledge, we were the first state to pass a Fiscal Responsibility law and the Rivers State Bureau of Public Procurement law. Both laws stemmed from executive bills, and we are pleased that we maintained our stance of surrendering the power of the governor to award contracts until the end of our tenure.

Mr. President of Senate, Distinguished Senators,
it is therefore fair to say that under my
leadership as governor of Rivers State we
redefined governance and repositioned Rivers
State as a destination choice to live, work and do
business.

Accordingly Mr. President of Senate,
Distinguished Senators, I give you my word that
if I am confirmed as minister by this
distinguished Senate, I will bring to bear my
vast experience as a Legislator, Speaker and
Governor in the execution of my duties.

9ice Confesses At Last, Says Ruggedman Didn't Have S*x With Toni Payne But Added That He Will Not Forgive Him

I Have Not And Will Never Forgive Ruggedman, says 9ice

Gongo Aso crooner 9ice, a singer cum politician has now clearly stated it that he has not forgiven Ruggedman neither is he willing to forgive him.

The two former collaborators clashed in 2010 after 9ice recorded a song on his third album titled ‘Once Bitten’; the song was a story about how 9ice caught his lover having an affair.

Many people at that time thought the song was
referring to his then wife Toni Payne and Ruggedman having an affair, both parties have denied this rumour several times in the past.

In a recent interview with ‘Entertainment Splash’ on TVC, 9ice said he is still not on good terms with Ruggedman, and that the rapper has not apologized.

9ice however stated that Ruggedman never slept with Toni Payne.
“Ruggedman did not sleep with Toni Payne, he dare not do that” he said, and added “Iyawo ole ni won ma ngba” which means “it is only a lazy man’s wife that can be taken away.”
9ice said he hasn’t forgiven Ruggedman for interfering in another man’s matter.

Most Controversial Statement Of The Day "I Have Never Taken Bribe In My Life" - Ameachi

I Have Never Taken Bribe In My Life, Says Ameachi

Former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi earlier today appeared before the Senate as regards his screening as a minister.

It is no longer news the drama that has been going on since his name was mentioned as a ministerial nominee.
There was a petition forwarded by a Senator from his home state, stating that Rotimi Amaechi is corrupt and should not be screened.

Dramatically, his was ommited on the list of those to be screened on Tuesday but was postponed till today.
But what is generating controversy presently is one of his quotes when reacting to questions in the hallow chamber.

In his words

"I Have Never Taken Bribe In My Life"

Hmmmm...  It will be hard for a day old baby to believe this claim of his.

After the end of the drilling, though PDP Caucus decided not to ask him any question, he was asked to take a bow and go.

The controversy sorrounding the confirmation or rejection of Ameachi will now die a natural death.

New INEC Chairman: Gov. Ayo Fayose Kicks, says President Buhari Has Shown He Is Sectional Leader

Buhari has shown he is sectional leader - Ayo Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the appointment of yet another northerner, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as Chairman the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a vindication of his position that “President Mohammadu Buhari is a sectional leader, who sees himself mainly as leader of the Hausa/Fulani, and not that of the entire people of Nigeria.”

The governor, who said he had expected that the new INEC Chairman will be chosen from one of the three Southern geo-political zones, especially the South Western part of the country being the only zone yet to produce chairman of the
nation’s electoral umpire, posited that; “Nigeria has entered a one chance bus and it remains to be seen who will save the country from its sectional President.”

Reacting to the appointment of Prof Yakubu as the new INEC chairman, Governor Fayose said, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka that even the Yoruba leaders
who promoted and made the Buhari’s Presidency possible had been short-changed.

The governor asked; “Shouldn’t he have considered someone from either South-East, South-South or South-West as Chairman of the Electoral Commission now that we have
a President from the North?

"For reasons of perception, equity and fairness, don’t we have credible people from the Southern part of Nigeria that can conduct credible elections as INEC Chairman? Or do we
assume that the 2019 elections have already been won and lost by the appointment of this Hausa/Fulani professor as INEC chairman? Or isn’t it regrettable that even in 2015, it is
only in PDP controlled States that elections are being upturned?”

He said he was worried that the three arms of government; namely Executive, Legislative and Judiciary were being headed by northerners, leaving the three zones in the Southern part of the country with nothing.

Speaking further, Governor Fayose said; “When Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was the President, he never appointed a Yoruba man as INEC chairman. Dr Goodluck Jonathan too did not appoint an Ijaw man as INEC Chairman.

“Former President Shehu Shagari too did not appoint a Hausa man like himself as Chairman of the Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO). Rather, he appointed late Justice Victor Ovie Whisky.

“During the Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha regimes, no Hausa/Fulani man was appointed as Chairman of the National Electoral Commission of Nigeria and General Abdulsalami Abubakar who established the current INEC did not also appoint his fellow Hausa man as chairman.

“How then can we have a President from the North and at the same time have INEC Chairman from the Hausa/Fulani Northern Nigeria?
“Obviously, what is being witnessed is more like a situation where it appears the President is more interested in having
someone malleable to him than serving the interest of Nigeria and its people.”

Governor Fayose, who described the hurried appointment of the INEC boss as a vindication of his earlier stand that the
appointment of Mrs Amina Zakari as INEC Acting Chairperson was illegal, said all processes leading to the conduct of the Kogi and Bayelsa States governorship election must start afresh.

"It should be recalled that l raised the alarm on the legality of INEC under an Acting Chairman or Chairperson as there was no provision for INEC Acting Chairmanship position in the
Constitution of Nigeria.

“I did say in a statement issued on August 9, 2015 that any action taken by INEC with Mrs Zakari as its head will amount to illegality and I urged President Muhammadu Buhari to avoid plunging Nigeria into an avoidable legal quagmire by rescinding immediately, the illegal appointment of Mrs Zakari as INEC Acting Chairperson.

“However, the president chose to wait until decisions were taken by INEC on Kogi and Bayelsa States governorship elections and one begins to wonder how INEC will wriggle
itself out of the legal quagmire it has been plunged into by the President’s refusal to heed to the voice of reason,” the governor said.

Education And Unemployment Rate In Nigeria

Education and unemployment rate in Nigeria

Education has been described in some quarters as the best legacy.
Through the instrumentality of education, mental faculties of people are shapened and re-oriented.

It enables the society to successfully transfer knowledge and skills from a generation to another. Educational institution are arranged in such a way that students are properly guided through teaching of variety of knowledge and skills, which are in turn used in our day-to-day activities.
No wonder an aphorism goes thus 'No nation can rise above the quality of education its citizens receive'.

An average and futuristic parent is willing to sponsor his/her children or wards up to tertiary Institution with a sole am that; graduate and be Independent.
The word 'being Independent' implies that getting a good job or be self employed after the compulsory one year National Youths Service Corps (NYSC).

Unfortunately, some of the sponsors cum parents end up disappointed because their lofty expectations are not met. Some of these  graduates ended up becoming the shadow of themselves.
It is either they are unemployed or under-employed.

Imagine a University or Polytechnic graduate working as a teacher in a private school with take home of #10,000...  What a pathetic situation!
The sum is not even enough to cater for his/her day-to-day runnings, how on earth will this kind of people make their parents cum sponsors that invested heavily on them happy?

Thereby leading them to social vices, such as prostitution, kidnapping, internet fraudsters, political thugs, just to mention but few.

According to statistic made available by African symposium in 2012, it reported that out of the candidates applying for admission into tertiary institutions  every year in Nigeria, only 5.2 percent to 15.3 percent get admitted.
This implies that, 84.7 percent to 94.8 percent of the candidates seeing admission every year never get admitted into Nigeria Institution, even with the skyrocket number of private tertiary institutions all over Nigeria at the moment.

For the 5.2 percent to 15.3 percent of students that are lucky to have gain admission every year, after spending about four to five years in the institutions and graduated, then join a long queue of their senior ones who have passed out from various Universities, Polytechnics and College of Education that are unemployed.

Most of who can be regarded as SANs....  You are curious to know the meaning?  Chuckles
It means Senior Applicant Of Nigeria...  It is funny? But it is a pathetic situation that we found ourselves.

Some of them are now being duped on daily basis by the fake recruiter pretending to be real.
The story of the last immigration recruitment exercise cannot be forgotten so soon, though they are not fake but asking job seekers to use money to buy form is a criminal act and should be condemned by all.

The decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the shame called recruitment exercise is a right step in right direction and should be commended.

I recommend that all these fake recruiters should be made to face the music, they way they milk the unsuspected job seekers is alarming. If you can solve someone's problem, it is better not to add to it.

The National Bereau of Statistics  recorded that, unemployment rate in Nigeria increased to 23.90 percent in 2011 from 21.10 percent in 2010 which was at the average of 14.60 percent from 2006 until 2011 reaching an all time high of 23.90 percent in 2011 and a record low of 5.30 percent in 2006.
As at this years,  2015 unemployment rate is still at the average of 23.90 percent of the work force of Nigeria i.e the Nigerian youths,  which in turn represents over 38 millions Nigerian! What a very outrageous figure!!

Relating different efforts of the arms of government, ministries,  parastatals, and even Non-Govermental Organisations (NGOs)  through strategizing and implementing different agenda, machinery, legislature and agencies that will help in boosting the economy of the nation, which in turn will reduce the high unemployment rate.

Some references can be made to National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) and the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). They are both created to reduce unemployment rate in Nigeria by introducing unemployed youths self-employment skills through small and medium scale enterprises.
But the fact is that, both has not been able to fight the endermic unemployment virus head on but their impacts are being felt to a level.
The rate of unemployment keeps rising even with the vision 2020 which is now 5 years close.

Government keep emphasizing Enterpreneurship as one of the major ways to reduce unemployment in the country, but the naked fact is that, everyone cannot be self-employed.
Even if you are interested in being self-employed, you will need a capital.

Private companies should be encouraged through provision of stable power supply and their Tax payment should be reviewed. This will in turn encourage them to invest in our country, because we are loosing them to our neighbouring countries such as Ghana.

If the basic amenities and infrastructures are available, they will serve as baits to would-be investors and when these people eventually set up here, it will reduce the unemployment rate and this will in turn reduce social vices.
Because government alone cannot solve the problem of unemployment.

Imagine a  fresh graduate in the field of medicine or  law  who is jobless with no additional still outside his/her field may need a huge capital to start up something that will relate to his/her professional calling.....  Where will this capital fall from?

With this trending challenge in our society of today, it is imperative that when we talk about education, parents and sponsors should shift their mind from the common formal education of (9-3-4) to vocational education.
Thereby sending their children or wards to where they can be trained early in life to learn a handiwork of their interest.

In fact, I will suggest that our government promulgate a law that will make vocational education or studies  compulsory right from primary schools.
Our tertiary institutions and National Youths  Service Corps (NYSC) should be commenced for making vocational education compulsory as a course(ENT)  and Skill Aquisition and Enterpreneurship Development (SAED).

As a youth corper, it is very compulsory that you under a Skill Aquisition Enterpreneurship Development (SAED)  training, this goes a long way in adding values to the free graduates before introducing them to labour market.

It Gives opportunity to corpers to be rebranded.  SAED has standard training centers all over the states of the federation.

But I will urge our government to speedily attend to this problem and i cannot but add that the issue of corruption be tackled as well.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration should be supported to make an head in this regard, majority of Nigerians vote for him because of his antecedent as a crusader of anti-corruption.
Though it has eaten deep into our fabrics but journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.

If you are a jobless graduate, go out there and learn a vocation today...  Nigeria Will Be great.

Rumour Of Boko Haram Invasion Forces Schools To Boycott Assembly In Ibadan

Rumour Of Boko Haram Invasion Forces Schools To Boycott Assembly In Ibadan

All students of both secondary schools and primary school were denied the morning Assembly prayers due to the rumour of boko haram attack.

It is a wide spread rumour that Islamic fundamentalists, known as boko haram has infilterated all the states in the South-West.

To guide against wanton destruction of the lives of innocent children, all activities that involves gathering have been suspended until further notice.

The massacre of the students of the Federal Girls College in Mubi and the kidnap of Chibok girls are things of concern.

We should join forces together so as to put a stop to all these unabated bombings and killings by this beasts called boko haram.

It is our prayer that this ignoble act of these fundamentalists will soon be a thing of the past... Amen

Ekiti Gate: Nigerian Army Sets Up Board To Investigate 2014 Ekiti And Osun States’ Elections

Nigerian Army Sets Up Board To Investigate 2014 Ekiti, Osun States’ Elections

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday set up a high
powered Board of Inquiry (BOI) to investigate alleged malpractices and involvement of its personnel in Ekiti and Osun states in 2014 gubernatorial elections.
This is contained in a statement issued by
Col. Sani Usman, the acting Director, Army
Public Relations in Abuja.

The statement quoted Usman as saying the
BOI was to investigate alleged
unprofessional and unethical conduct of
some Nigerian Army personnel in Ekiti and
Osun states in 2014 gubernatorial elections,
among other things.

He stated that the BOI would also
investigate cases in other states where
allegations of misconduct were made during
the 2015 general elections in the country.
He said that “as part of its Terms of
Reference, the BOI is also to review the
involvement of the Nigerian Army
formations/units and its personnel in
elections and other duties in aid to civil
authority.

“The essence of the investigation is to
prevent future unprofessional conduct by
officers and men in the performance of
constitutional roles.

“It is also to strengthen Nigerian Army’s
support to democratic values and structures
in Nigeria.’’ (NAN)

Shocking Revelation: My Sister Stopped School For Me To Graduate – OOU Best Graduating Student (Photo)

My Sister Stopped School For Me To
Graduate – OOU Best Graduating Student

Best graduating student of the Olabisi Onabanjo
University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, Damilola Ayorinde, tells SAMUEL AWOYINFA, the secret of her success.

As she donned her academic gown and beamed with smiles, not many guests knew what Damilola Ayorinde went through to become the best graduating student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

For many of those seated in the expansive OGD Hall of the university, because of the number of times the young lady mounted the rostrum to receive academic laurels, it was easy to conclude that destiny had been good and fair to her.

Like, many of them would think, had been full of roses for the Plant Science graduate.
Indeed, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.80, Damilola towered above her colleagues in all faculties and departments in the institution.

But the life story of the valedictorian is a different handle of narrative. Poverty, she claims, dealt a deadly blow on her.
Telling the story of her four-year sojourn in the
university, she says her parents were so poor that she could not buy a single textbook throughout her higher education adventure.

She explains that to make up for this she got familiar with the Internet where she read relevant topics and printed out materials with money she could get from good-spirited people.

She adds, “It was by the grace of God that I was able to complete my study. My parents are so poor that I could not afford the luxury of buying a single textbook throughout my four-year study.

Tthe valedictorian, whose father, Samuel Ayorinde, is a property agent, and mother, Elizabeth, a petty trader, received no fewer than eight awards.

The honours are the Department of Plant Science and Applied Zoology prize, Vice-Chancellor’s prize, Chancellor’s prize, and the Prof. Afolabi Soyode’s prize for best graduating student.

Others include the D.B. Oguntuga Memorial prize for the best graduating student in the Faculty of Science, Dipo Dina prize for the best first-degree programme student, Dipo Dina prize for the best in the faculty of science, and the Faculty of Science prize for the overall best graduating student.

Sharing the secret of her success, the light-
complexioned Damilola adds that she also relied on notes she could copy during lectures, as none of her well-to-do colleagues were willing to release their textbooks to her.

She explains, “None of my colleagues was ready to lend or give me their textbooks to read because they said I had none to give them in return, as in exchanging books. So, I had to carry my cross by going to the library, Internet and reading my notes.”

The intellectual damsel, who claims she had no time for boyfriend relationship, notes that she also likes reading alone.
She says, “I normally lock up myself in the room
while reading. Though I have some distant relations staying with me, since they are younger, I made sure they never disturbed me.

“Again, I prefer to read early in the morning when the weather is still cool. I assimilate better under such a condition. I had no time for a boyfriend. I focused on my studies, knowing the kind of background I come from. I never gave room for any distraction.”

But she also faced psychological torture, especially as her young sister had to sacrifice her education for her sake.
Damilola, the first child among her three siblings, says her immediate younger sister, Tosin, had to discontinue her education in the same institution at 100 level for her to proceed with her study.

She adds, “I’ve had to eat dry garri and groundnut when there was nothing to eat. Many times I trekked to school. Till now, my parent’s house is still not completed. My convocation suit is the first I bought in life.

But in all, I have reasons to thank God.
“Our parents are so poor that two of us could not
afford university education at the same time. In fact, my younger sister had to drop at 100 level in 2012 for me to continue with my own study.”

Twenty-year-old Tosin also graced the convocation to share in her elder sister’s joy.
Tosin, who corroborates her sister’s story, hopes to return to the same school, after sitting for another Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations conducted by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board Examination, some day.

She states, “I need someone who can sponsor my
education. As it were, my parents cannot shoulder the responsibility now.”
Besides, Damilola links her success to God’s help and her school’s fellowship pastor, Joseph Josh-
Adefisan. According to her, Josh-Adefisan
contributed to the payment of her tuition,
accommodation, feeding and mentorship.

Josh-Adefisan, while hailing Damilola’s courage,
says, “I also graduated from this institution but I am the pastor in charge of student fellowship at the OOU main campus and some other campuses.

“I knew about Damilola’s challenges through the
campus fellowship and that was how I started
offering my little assistance to her.”
But since her parents are still facing hard times, is there any hope for further education? Damilola says yes, declaring that she looks forward to pursuing a master’s degree in Pharmacognosy.

Talking about other things that prepared her for the excellent performance, she reveals that she is from an extended family, where the girl-child is not known to aspire to greater heights.

However, she chose to be different.
Damilola’s father attests to this. He explains that his daughter has always been an achiever from her formative years.
“She was the head girl when she was in primary
school, Mastok Nursery and Primary School, Orile Agege, Lagos; and the library prefect when she was at Iganmode Grammar School, Sango-Ota, Ogun State.

“She has always been a bookworm. Even when she was much younger, when others were watching television programmes, she would be busy with books. I am not surprised at this feat.”

Damilola, who wants to impact on youths, advises other undergraduates to focus seriously on their studies.
She notes, “I look forward to becoming a graduate a assistant until I secure admission to further my education. My vision in life is to occupy an enviable position in life where I will impact on as many lives as possible.

Hard Talk: ‘We Are No Longer Foolish’, NYSC Tells Students

‘We Are No Longer Foolish’, NYSC Tells Students

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has told students of Obafemi Awolowo University that the body is no longer foolish like before in its dealings. In a program powered by the Division of Student Affairs, OAU in conjuction with NYSC, the later has educated the final year students and prospective corp members on what the Youth Service entails and what to expect during the period.

Addressing a cross section of OAU students at the Chemical Engineering lecture theatre in the institution on Wednesday, Mr Aremu Kehinde who is the Assistant Director, Man Power Planning, NYSC said most nowadays graduates enter the youth service with a wrong mindset.

“Most people enter the NYSC with the wrong mindset and I don’t want you to have that. I want you to enter into the youth service with the mind that it is for your benefit and not as time wastage as many of the corp members see it. “The youth service allows you to give service. Service is actually things for people without expecting gratification.”

While answering questions as regards the current payment threshold for corp members, Aremu said NYSC understands the plight of the youths and hence engaging and lobbying the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) from time to time to see to the improvement in the stipends paid to corp members.

He however advised that much more beyond the pay, diligence is key and can pay off beyond the stipends that can be paid. The guest speaker also informed the prospective corp members that the registration for Batch B corp members has commenced and graduates need to log on to the NYSC portal (www.nysc.gov.ng) to register.

He further revealed that the new system operated by NYSC affords prospective corp members to choose their most preferred states of service. Mr Aremu also warned those that will be registering not to play pranks or try to be smart to give wrong details during registration as NYSC is no longer fooling.

The new Vice Dean, Division of Student Affairs led the delegation of the University team to the seminar, according to the source.

MUST READ: Latest Way Of Duping Unsuspected Nigerians Revealed

Latest Way Of Duping Unsuspected Nigerians Revealed

I write to conscientize us as to the latest antic of the men of the underworld towards frauding unsuspected Nigerians.

Though fraud is a global phenomenon but it is a known fact that people fall for it in most cases because of lack of information as to the manner by which it was arranged.

1. Cloning of ATM Cards

Every ATM  card hold should be mindful of the way s/he handles his/er card.
Flaunting the card should be discouraged, most especially when you are on the queue.
Most people only protect their PINS not knowing that without the PIN, illegitimate transactions can still be done using the cards.

If you expose your Card Number, CCV and Expiry Date on your Card......  You are susceptible.
You can do some online transactions within the PINS.

The cards may be cloned since all the information needed are available to the scammers, remember that computer is more or less a robot.
It will surely do what is expected to do provided the information requested is correct.
So guide your ATM card details jealously.

2. Be Mindful Of SMS Requesting For Your ATM Details

No bank official will ask for your ATM Card Details most especially, your PIN.

A friend of mine received this SMS

Dear customer, your ATM card has been temporarily De-activated for Re-activation kindly call Mr EVANS 081 3721 4478

Sent from +2348163179318

You say it is laughable right?  But it is real and some people may fall for this freak.

If your bank wants to relate with you, it is either they put a direct call through or through customized SMS not just any number.

Always confirm any information received from your account manager before you take any step that involve banking activities or transactions.

Be guided.
