REVEALED: Alison-Madueke Has Been Under Investigation Since 2013 - NCA

The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) has disclosed that investigation into activities of Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, started back in 2013.

The past minister was arrested on October 2 in London over bribery and corruption allegations and was further that day released on bail. Diezani was obligated to return to the Charing Cross police station on Monday for further questioning.
On Saturday the Agency provided some more details on the matter.

The statement on the NCA website reads:
“On Friday 2nd October, the National Crime Agency’s recently formed International Corruption Unit arrested five people across London as part of an investigation into suspected bribery and money laundering offences.

“All five people arrested were released on conditional police bail later that evening, pending further investigation both in the UK and overseas.

“The investigation commenced in 2013 under the Proceeds of Corruption Unit, and transferred to the NCA earlier this year.”

Premium Times has learnt that Diezani’s travelling documents, so as the ones of four other Nigerians arrested alongside, were seized.
It should be recalled that hours after the reported arrest the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission raided her Abuja house and sealed the property .

Era of impunity is over!!!

Tennis: Kyrgios out, Ferrer and Lopez in
Malaysian showdown

Top seeds David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez
set up an all-Spanish affair in the final while
volatile Australian Nick Kyrgios fell short of
reaching his second professional final at the
Malaysian Open on Saturday.

Ferrer recovered from a set down to
overcome Benjamin Becker from Germany 3-6,
6-2, 6-4 in a 125-minute battle.
I needed to be more aggressive on the
forehand and that worked for me in the
second and third game,” the world number
eight told reporters.

I have only played once before this
tournament, but my fitness was good today
and I hope to keep this consistency on
Sunday.”
Second seed Feliciano Lopez booked a berth in
the final by defeating Kyrgios 7-6 (7/2), 7-6
(7/5).

The match was close and could have gone
either way, but I’m proud of the way I played.
I needed to be aggressive and was happy that
my volleys and serves worked out well,” said
the 34-year-old Lopez.
Lopez also dismissed any talks of retirement.

People have been asking me, when will you
quit? I tell them I am not done yet, I take it
one year at a time. As long as I stay healthy
and can challenge the best in the world, I
don’t have a specific plan,” he said.
Despite his defeat, Kyrgios is nonetheless
eyeing a higher ranking as he seeks to put this
season’s controversies behind.

The Australian, whose temper and crude on-
court comments have earned him a “bad boy”
image, kept his emotions in check in Malaysia.
The seventh seed hammered 13 aces but
struggled with Lopez’s deft dropshots and
volleys.

I was looking good today, but he came up with
some ridiculous volleys today and you have to
appreciate something like that,” said Kyrgios,
who applauded some of the Spaniard’s return
winners on court.
It was a great game of tennis and he did
enough to come away with the win.”

Kyrgios made the quarterfinals at Wimbledon
and the Australian Open this year, but his play
has been overshadowed by his behaviour.
In August, he was fined for his now-infamous
on-court comment to Stan Wawrinka at the
Rogers Cup, a sexual slur concerning the Swiss
player’s girlfriend that triggered widespread
condemnation.

He faces a possible suspension of 28 days if he
commits further transgressions.
I tend to get upset when something stupid
happens, like when the linesman gets a line
call wrong, but today was a really good
game,” he said.
Now at number 41 in the world, Kyrgios is
eyeing a move up.

I want to get into the top 32. That’s my goal.
I’m not the biggest goal-setter but I’m happy
with my performance,” he said.
His career-high ranking is 25, reached earlier
this year.
I’ll just have to get back up and keep
competing again,” he said.

The only other final Kyrgios has reached was
the Estoril Open in May, where he lost to
Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

SPORT: Jose Mourinho Confesses Says, He Is Having The Worst Period Of His Career

Jose Mourinho has admitted that Chelsea’s difficult start to this season, is “the worst period in my career with the worst results in my career.”
The Premier League defending champions, currently sit in 15th position on the log with two wins from their opening seven games.

Ahead of this weekend’s home match against Southampton, Mourinho said: “It [the situation] is something that is helping me to be better. It is a great negative experience.

“I’ve had big challenges. I am not saying it’s a hard challenge, I’m saying it’s the worst period. I have never lost so many matches.”

The Blues boss, however insisted that he has a team, that can win all their upcoming games in the league and Champions League.

“We are capable as a team to win against anyone –Champions League, Premier League – we are capable of that,” he said.

“After the match, I never react. I go to the press, they [the players] go to the shower. After the match, I never have a bad reaction. After the match is the time to calm down and go home. The next day I’m calm. So the next day I coach. I coach.

“In here, we speak openly. You can help your mate — I did that mistake, but you could do that a little bit better.
We have no prima donnas crying. Everyone wants to do well.”

Ekiti State Government on Friday, 2nd October, 2015, commenced clearing works at the proposed airport site in Aso Ayegunle Village of Ado Ekiti.

With the Honourable commissioner for works leading the team from Ekiti State Ministry of Works around 9:30 in the morning, not less than five bulldozers stationed at Aso Ayegunle swung into action immediately.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose had vowed at a meeting with some stakeholders in his office that all road contractors in the state will be asked to lend the state at least a bulldozer for a month at the site.

Speaking with newsmen at the site, an elated Hon. Kayode Oso explained how a committee was put in place about a month ago by the governor to look into the possibility of achieving the administration’s desire to have an airport in Ekiti at the shortest possible time said the committee within the period reviewed processes that have been on for more than 3 years, met with consultants and professionals in the aviation sector as well as liaise with relevant authorities to get the required approval for kick off.

Miracle Of The Century: Woman With No Vaginal Opening Gives Birth To Baby Girl In Lagos(Photo)

Woman With No V*ginal Opening Gives Birth To Baby Girl In Lagos

Her name is Sister Destiny Chimezie from Isiala
Ngwa South Local Govt Area in Abia State but
residing in Lagos, she was called a boy, her people called her Chimezie (let God correct) which is a male’s name.

Her family had done all, humanly possible to give her gender to no avail. They had visited several hospitals and maternity homes to no avail, while the case lasted, her mother left her father because of the
shame Destiny was bringing to the family.

Neighbors were mocking her mother because her child is not a male or female, as her mother left her father because of this reproach, her father continued seeking for solution until the problem became overwhelming and he died in an accident.

At Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) the consultant that examined her described her genital (private part) as malformed. She was in this stigma when a Chosen brother met her and married her, believing that nothing is impossible with God and God visited her during the Lord’s
Chosen programme titled “ONLY GOD CAN DO THIS” last year and miraculously opened her genital.

She got pregnant and delivered a bouncing baby girl, she was among the women that dedicated their children on Sunday 27th September, 2015 at The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries headquarter at Ijesha, Lagos.

Who says your case has no solution? Kindly go on your knees and pray to God. HE is always available to hear us.

I'm looking forward to hearing your testimony as well, I mean you, yes you!

News: No More Extension on BVN, CBN Warns

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has made it clear that there would not be further extension when the October 31, 2015 deadline for the bank verification (BVN) elapses.

This, according to the banking sector regulator means that customer without the BVN-linked accounts may risk being restricted from normal operations of their accounts or free access to their bank account balances by the end of next month.

It revealed that statistical trend of the BVN registration exercise showed with about 52 million active bank accounts in various banks, total enrolment stood at about 20 million, out of which about 14 million accounts have been linked to the BVN as at September, 2015.

It emphasised in a statement at the weekend that BVN is now mandatory requirement for opening new bank accounts, adding that those to be affected by the restrictions are customers whose accounts were opened prior to the commencement of the BVN scheme.

The CBN, in collaboration with the bankers’ committee, introduced the BVN on February 14, 2014. This initiative of the bankers’ committee is aimed at ensuring unique identity for all bank customers and other users of financial services in the country by the use of the customers’ biometrics as means of identification.

Initially, it was estimated that all bank customers would, within a period of 18 months, complete enrolment in the new system of customer identification. The enrolment for the scheme can be done in banks across the country.

One of the most potent arguments advanced by banks for not extending enough credit to prospective credit customers in Nigeria has been the absence of credible identity system.

Thus, it was agreed that the scheme would make access to credit easier for people in the low income earners in the society, which include employees and entrepreneurs of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), students etc.

“At the expiration of the estimated 18 months after the launch, empirical evidence showed that a good number of bank customers were reluctant and never took the exercise seriously. Thus, few days to the end of the mandatory 18 months, which was June 30, 2015, there was commot on and stampede in banking halls across the country, as customers were pushing, shoving and climbing on each other in order to beat the deadline for the BVN registration.
“This confusion necessitated the call for the extension of the registration dateline by four months to October 31, 2015.

What is required is for a bank customer to visit any branch of his bank and the desk officer would capture his finger print and a photograph of his face, his signature and demand for a photocopy of either of his driving license, national identity card or international passport of the customer.

“The question now is whether bank customers have been taking advantage of the extension to complete their BVN registration, and also ensure that their various bank accounts have been linked to the BVN,” it stated.
Another interesting trend, according to the central bank showed that after the initial rush between the end of June and July 2015, there has been a steady decline in new BVN enrolment figures for August and September, 2015.

“The emerging scenario therefore, strongly suggests that many bank account holders have continued to show apartment instead of taking advantage of the extension period.

“Given this development, there is the apprehension that the
commotion and melee experienced at various banking halls in the month of June 2015 would be repeated if customers do not use the remaining one month to ensure that they complete their BVN registration, and also get their various accounts linked to the BVN.

“The CBN has made it clear that there would not be further extension after October 31, 2015 deadline. This means that customer without the BVN-linked accounts may risk being restricted from normal operations of their accounts or free access to their bank account balances,” it added.

News: APC drags Fayose to court over SIEC's Composition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) State has dragged Governor Ayodele Fayose and the State Independent Electoral Commission to court over the composition of the electoral body.

The party claimed that members of the electoral body constituted by the governor are card-carrying members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and so could not conduct a free and fair election local government elections.

The APC alleged that SIEC Chairman, Justice Kayode Bamisile (rtd) and commission members-Victoria Olufunke Adeyera, Ganiyu Bello, Mojisola Florence Bankole, Rufus Sunday Olaiya and  Olajide Vincent Adeyeye-are PDP members.

The APC in the suit filed by its counsel, Abiodun Fasakin and Tajudeen Akingbolu, said constituting a SIEC made up of suspected PDP members was illegal.

The party said the composition of the electoral body contradicted the constitutional requirement for a non-partisan electoral body that could organise credible elections acceptable to all contesting parties.

It will be recalled the PDP dragged Kayode Fayemi APC led government to court over same issue, which led to the suspension of the scheduled election then.

Is this because of fear of unknown or that their claims are correct?
Let's keep our fingers crossed as the events unfold.

INTL NEWS: Angry Obama calls for action as 10 dead in school massacre

A visibly angry President Barack Obama has
made an impassioned plea for gun control
after a shooting at an Oregon college left 10
dead and seven wounded, saying such
tragedies had become “routine”.

                             Barack Obama
In the close-knit community of Roseburg,
large crowds turned out for a candlelight vigil
for the victims of Thursday’s killing spree at
Umpqua Community College, which ended
with the assailant dying during a shootout
with police.

“Somehow this has become routine,” Obama
said of the attack, as he blasted Congress for
its failure to act in the face of such killings.
“We’ve become numb to this… It cannot be
this easy for somebody who wants to inflict
harm on other people to get his or her hands
on a gun.”

“Prayers are not enough,” the stony-faced
president said. “We can actually do something
about it, but we’re going to have to change
our laws.”

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said 10
people were killed and seven were injured,
several critically.
Witnesses described scenes of terror and
panic as the tragedy unfolded at the school,
located in a picturesque rural region of
Oregon.

The gunman — identified by US media as 26-
year-old Chris Harper Mercer — opened fire
in a classroom, then moved to other rooms,
methodically gunning down his victims.

One man whose daughter was wounded told
CNN that the gunman, who did not attend the
school, ordered students to identify themselves
if they were Christian and then shot them.

“They would stand up and he said ‘Good,
because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see
God in just about one second’,” Stacy Boylan
told CNN, relaying his daughter Ana’s account.
He said his daughter, who survived by playing
dead, told him the shooter burst into the
classroom and first shot the professor point
blank.

As the community struggled for answers, the
gunman’s motives — whether religious hatred
or a desire for notoriety — remained
unknown. It is not known whether he had a
history of mental illness.

– ‘Not a friendly type’ –
Neighbors described Mercer as a withdrawn,
anxious young man who lived with his
mother.
They told the New York Times he wore the
same outfit every day — combat boots, green
army pants and a white T-shirt.

“He was not a friendly type of guy,” Bronte
Hart, who lived in the apartment below
Mercer’s in Winchester, Oregon, told the
newspaper. “He did not want anything to do
with anyone.”

At the candlelight vigil, families prayed,
consoled one another and held their children
tight in the chill night air.
They brought flowers and made signs and
arranged candles to form the letters UCC, the
college’s initials.

The college draws 3,300 students from
surrounding communities, so the loss was
close to home for many in Roseburg.

“Pretty much ‘everybody knows everybody’
type scenario,” Douglas County fire marshall
Ray Shufler said.
“So something like this affects many, many,
many people.”

Cassandra Welding, a student at Umpqua, said
she heard 35 to 40 shots coming from an
adjacent classroom and saw a fellow student
get shot as she opened the door to check on
the noise.

“Then we locked the doors, turned off the
lights and … we were all pretty much in panic
mode and called 911 and our parents and
(said) ‘I love yous’ because we didn’t know
what would happen, if those were our last
words.”

Brady Winder, another student at Umpqua,
said he was in class when suddenly he heard a
loud pop coming from an adjoining classroom.
He said his teacher called out through the
door to see if everything was OK and then
further shots rang out.

“We all kind of froze and bolted out the
door,” Winder said. “I didn’t really have any
time to think. It was fight or flight.”

County Sheriff Hanlin said police were alerted
to the shooting at 10:38 am and rushed to the
site where two officers cornered the gunman
and exchanged fire with him. He was later
confirmed dead.

“You will never hear me mention his name,”
Hanlin said of the shooter. “I will not give him
the credit he probably sought prior to this
horrific and cowardly act.”

– Disturbing reality –
Authorities said investigators were examining
social media postings thought to belong to the
shooter. Several reports said he may have
shared his intentions online beforehand.

Other reports said police recovered three
handguns and an assault rifle at the scene
along with a cell phone that presumably
belonged to the shooter, who wore a bullet
proof vest.

School shootings are a disturbing reality of
American life and many facilities have
reinforced security in recent years, especially
in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre in
2012 that left 20 students and six adults dead.

There have been 142 school shootings in the
United States since that tragedy, according to
data compiled by Mass Shooting Tracker.

When will this rubbish stop?? Being christian is not a crime!

News: Buy yourself a brain! Lamido Sanusi blasts critics over his resent marriage to an 18 year old girl

Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 54-year-old Emir of Kano, has come under harsh criticism after he married the 18-year-old daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa.

                                 Emir Sanusi
After the news about the non-publicised wedding broke last Friday , Nigerians took to social media, having introduced the hashtag #ChildNotBride.
People characterised the decision as unwise indirectly referring to him as a “sugar daddy”.
Sanusi has finally decided to explain his point in a piece published by The Herald. In his writing the Emir speaks about his fourth wife and sheds light on their decision to get married.

“I am sure NC members all have their views and have kept quiet out of (appropriate) deference to our right to make our individual choice. Obviously I do not need to explain anything to anyone in a purely personal matter but a few points are worthy of note:

“The lady in question is 18 and therefore legally of age to marry under all laws and certainly under Muslim law. She is proceeding for her undergraduate education in the UK in January. She had an “A” in computer science in her “O” levels and plans to get a degree in computer science.

“Each and every one of my wives is a university graduate and some have worked and then stopped and in each case the choice was purely theirs.
“It is a tradition in Kano that emirs and princes in choosing wives consider issues beyond the individual. The family is in every sense a social unit. My predecessor was married to princesses from Ilorin, Katsina and Sokoto.
“The relationship between the late Lamido of Adamawa Aliyu Musdafa, the father of the current Lamido is well known.

Lamido Aliyu was the first emir turbaned after emir Sanusi I and they remained close until Sanusi’s death. My own relationship with the current Lamido dates back to 1981 when he was Ciroma and commissioner for works. By the way the Lamido and I are not illiterates we know what we are doing and he does have a PhD in Engineering.
“My own mother was married in Adamawa and lived there for more than two decades and I have eight younger brothers and sisters from there.

“It is therefore natural that if I choose to marry from another kingdom Adamawa would be the first choice for me and I am extremely happy to strengthen these long historical bonds.

The young lady in question gave her free consent and even after the contract the wedding will not happen for a few years. By then she may be 21. If she freely consents to this I do not know on what moral grounds anyone has a grouse.
She is an adult, she gave her consent, and her education is not being in anyway interrupted.

“The real issue is that people do not accept cultural difference. And you can see it in the approach to these issues. I am supposed to be urbane and western educated.

Yes but I am not European. I am a northern Nigerian Fulani Muslim brought up in a setting exactly like the one my children are being brought up in.

“If you read this and it improves your understanding of this issue that is fine. If it does not just remember it is not your life, it is not your daughter and you are not my wife therefore it is not your business.

Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, married 18-yr-old Sa’adatu Barkindo-Musdafa – daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo-Musdafa

“I obviously cannot stop to the level of responding publicly to these kinds of articles. I have always been an advocate of girls marrying after maturing. I personally like the minimum age of 18 even though I understand those who say 16 is fine and indeed this is the law in most so called advanced countries.
“Is this something that I expect a European or western trained or feminist mind to appreciate or endorse? Not at all.

But has any American been bothered about my views on men marrying men or women marrying women who frankly I find primitive and bestial? No and my views do not matter. These are cultural issues.

“Even in Nigeria I have heard all this stuff as in Pius article about “north” and northerners. Again it is a failure to respect difference. There are parts of this country where parents expect their daughters to live with their boyfriends for years and actually get pregnant before they marry. It has become culture.

We do not have that in the north and if your daughter gets pregnant before marriage she brings nothing but shame to the name. But we do not issue condemnations. We agree that this is how they choose to live. And I can give many other examples.

“When people use the term libido they do themselves injustice. First of all it shows how they view women and marriage. Women are nothing but the object of sexual desire.

Marriage is nothing but sexual gratification. Well I am sorry but in my tradition it is not. Beauty and attraction rank third after religion and lineage in the choice of a wife.

“They see an 18-year-old young lady. I see a princess of noble birth whose mother is also a princess, and who has been brought up in a good Muslim home. This is the kind of woman that is prepared for giving birth to princes and bringing them up for the role expected of them in society.

“Marriage is both social and political. Expanding the links of Kano which have already been established by my predecessors through inter-marriage with Katsina, Sokoto, Ilorin, Katagum, Ningi, Bauchi, etc. to Adamawa is an important and significant step and this is obvious to anyone with a sense of how royal families work and Ibn Khaldun’s sociological concept of Asabiyyah.

“When the Emir of Kano marries it has to be something beyond what he personally desires to what is appropriate for that position and the expectations of the people he represents. You don’t just pick up any girl on the street. And by the way, for those who shout libido, sex is cheap and available everywhere in all shapes and sizes and all colours if that is what they want.

And all ages too. Marriage is a very different proposition. The mother of your children has to be something other than, not at least much more than a mere object of sexual fantasy. But if you do not know that you need to buy yourself a brain.
“I have daughters. And they know they can only marry from certain backgrounds. I always prefer family.

When my daughter wanted to marry Mouftah Baba Ahmed’s son and she asked me, knowing my views on family, I told her Mouftah is family. And this is not about me and Mouftah or me an Hakeem or Nafiu. No. It goes back to Baba Ahmed and Emirs Sanusi and Bayero. And the same rule applies to my sons. And it applied to me as well.

“It is, I am sure, very strange that I should even bother to comment on this. But it would be hypocritical for me to just keep quiet so long as these things are being posted and commented upon explicitly or in a snide manner. There was no secrecy in the marriage fatiha. The date was fixed and it was to be done in the central mosque after Friday prayers.

“The day before we had a tragedy in Saudi Arabia and decided the fatiha must be very low key as a mark of respect for the dead. All traditional rulers in Adamawa were there, as were governors and commissioners, members of my own emirate council and Adamawa people. There is nothing here to hide or be apologetic about.

“The emirs of Adamawa have shown love to my parents and grandparents and it is a sign of my appreciation of their love that i marry their daughter. This is the highest statement of friendship and loyalty on both sides.

“Again if you understand this this is fine. If you do not, buy yourself a brain, A la Pius. In any event this is my one and final and only comment on this. And I am making it out of respect for NC members.”

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has
called for the probe of all past leaders in the
Fourth Republic to bring sanity in the system.
Fayose in his 55th independence anniversary
broadcast also called for the strengthening of
core values in the country for it to take its
pride of place among its peers.

The governor, who said it was unfortunate
that despite the nation marking her 55th
independence anniversary, her developmental
strides had not been commensurate with her
age, lamented the current economic situation
in the country and called for greater
commitment on the part of leaders to get the
country out of the woods.

Our country is growing in age as an
independent country, but there is no
corresponding growth in values. Those who
are supposed to help propel those core values
are muzzling the opposition and the imaginary
enemies.
“The current leadership in the country should
have the courage to probe all the leaderships
of the past.

There should be no sacred cow if
truly they have anything to offer.’’
The mismanagement of yesteryears, especially
since we started the Fourth Republic, should
be probed. It will not augur well for our
nation if we are selective in the dispensation
of justice.

“Leaders must be equitable and fair to all.
Everybody must be diligent in playing our
parts. The current civilian dispensation in the
country must be supported and allowed to
thrive,” he said.

On the current democratic dispensation in the
country, Fayose gave kudos to former
President Goodluck Jonathan for the manner
he handled the last general elections.

On the coming governorship elections in
Bayelsa and Kogi states, the governor said the
manner President Muhammadu Buhari
handles the matter would determine if he likes
democracy to grow in the country.

MUST READ: How to Stop a Masturbation Addiction

Masturbation is a common phenomenon among the singles, it happens in every culture, across every period of history, and it's the way most adolescents discover what they enjoy before embarking on adult sexual relationships.

However, if it's becoming an obsession that inhibits other aspects of your life, or you
belong to a religion or philosophy that forbids
masturbation, then it's possible to curb the impulse, gather your self-discipline, and take control of your urges.

1. Find another outlet for your time and energy. Fill your life with engaging activities. The excitement of doing something different can help replace the urge to masturbate, and you'll have a go-to distraction next time you're tempted.

Be Creative
The process of turning sexual urges into creative output (called sublimation) is something on which monks and sages have relied upon for centuries. Start writing, learn to play a musical instrument, paint, draw, or do whatever else makes you feel like you're doing something productive.

Play Sports
It takes discipline and persistence
to excel at a sport. Develop an interest like
running or swimming, or a group sport like
soccer, football, basketball, or tennis. Also, any
form of exercise will help you relieve tension,
feel happier, and to make you focus on your
physicality in a positive way. Yoga is another
form of exercise that can help you feel more
relaxed and less likely to feel the sudden urge to
masturbate.

Eat a Healthy Diet
Fruits and vegetables have
healthy effects on the body and provide
nutrients necessary to increase your energy to
make you more active throughout the day.

Find a new hobby, or cultivate a skill
Learning something that takes a while to master can refocus your brain on the delayed gratification of achieving goals instead of the instantly gratification of masturbation. Try skills like cooking, woodshop, archery, baking, public
speaking, or gardening.

Volunteer your time
Devote your energy to
helping teens who've been less fortunate than
you, such as working at a shelter, tutoring low-
income students, cleaning up blighted areas, or
raising money for a good cause. You'll get an
altruistic feeling from helping others, and you'll
have less time to stray from your goals.

2. Make a plan for avoiding masturbation during
your "go to" times of day. If you have problems
before going to bed or in the shower, refrain from any temptation to masturbate. For instance, if it's a problem late at night, drop to the floor and do push-
ups until you're too exhausted to do anything but fall asleep. If you find shower time too tempting, start using ice cold water only — you won't want to be in there for long.

If you always masturbate when you get home
from school, make sure to have a solid plan to
stave off any boredom you may feel. If you
have so little to do that your mind frequently
wanders to sexual thoughts, occupy your
schedule. You'll find it gets easier to avoid
masturbation if you're too busy or tired to spare
any energy for distractions.

If you're tempted to masturbate in the morning,
try to sleep with more than just one layer of
clothing so touching yourself is more of an
effort.

3. Limit your solitude
If you masturbate frequently
because you feel lonely, find ways to be as
socially engaged as possible. This means that you should join as many clubs or activities as you can, accept and give more invitations to people, and go out of your way to make more friends.

If you want to date someone, consider asking a friend to set you up or join an online dating site.
Another thing you can do is to limit the times
when you are likely to be home alone. If you
tend to masturbate in the hour or two before
your parents get home from work, go for a walk
during that time, or do your homework in a
coffee shop.

Even if all of your friends are busy, you can still
limit your impulse to masturbate by going out in
public. For instance, instead of watching the
game at home by yourself, watch it at a sports
bar. Even if you're not hanging out with friends,
you will not be alone, ultimately having no time
for masturbation.

4. Stop watching porn on your computer. One of
the reasons you may be masturbating so much
is that you know that you can access porn within
seconds if you want to. However, if you don't have the willpower to stop looking at the porn on your own, then you may have to take other measures to get the job done:

Consider installing porn-blocking software on
your computer
Of course you will know the
password to bypass the blocking function, but
just having it pop up will remind you of your
priorities. You can also type a random password
in a text file, copy and paste it when you enter
your password and verify it, then delete the text
file. Then, you will not be able to know the
password of your own porn-blocker. This is the
best way to keep you strong and spare you the
struggle.

If you have the tendency to masturbate looking
at porn on the computer, try moving your
computer into a room where others can see you.
If you have a physical collection of porn,
dispose of it ASAP.

Get Help
Porn addiction apps such as
Brainbuddy are designed to rewire your brain so you crave real connection instead of porn.

5. Be persistent and patient. Stopping a
masturbation addiction won't hit you like a
lightning bolt. It's a process that requires
commitment, and you might make mistakes or
relapse on occasions. The real struggle is
persevering, so commit now that you won't let like mistakes stand in your way.

Set up a reward system. Bribe yourself to stay
on-track with rewards for good behavior. For
instance, if you can go two whole weeks without
masturbating once, treat yourself to a small
indulgence like a new game or an ice cream
cone.

Reward systems are great; just make sure not
to reward yourself with the very thing you're
trying to conquer, which, in this case, is
masturbating. If you say that you'll reward
yourself with masturbation after a week of not
doing it, then you'll only be turning masturbation into something that you really, really want even more.

Masturbation causes more harm than what you think you are enjoying....  Stop it before it's too late.

SPORT: Ronaldo Scores Brace, Equals Raul’s Real Goal-Scoring Record

Cristiano Ronaldo equaled Raul as Real
Madrid’s all-time top scorer when he netted
both goals in a 2-0 win at Swedish side Malmo
in Champions’ League Group A on Wednesday.

Former Spain striker Raul, now with New York
Cosmos, hit 323 goals in 741 appearances for
Real between 1994 and 2010, while Ronaldo has
needed a mere 308 games to match him.

The Portugal captain scored his 500th career
goal in 753 games for club and country in the
29th minute when he ran clear onto an Isco
pass and clipped a clinical shot past Johan
Wiland in the Malmo goal.

Ronaldo joined Real from Manchester United in
July 2009 for what was then a record fee of 94
million euros (£69.49 million). He has won the
last two FIFA Ballon d’Or awards for the world’s
best player, ending a four-year run enjoyed by
his great rival Lionel Messi of Barcelona, having
won his first in 2008.

Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Champions
League with 82 goals five more than Messi who
is currently on 77.

Who says this guy is not on fire????

MUST READ: 5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Worshiping Your Pastor.

Reasons why you should stop worshiping your pastors

I write this article to conscientize us to to the ways and manner that we relate with our pastorsThis is not related to those with pastors callings alone but all that manage one church or another, like general overseers, church heads, oluso, just to mention but few.

This is based purely on what I have seen, read and heard person saying. But I believe some of us in Africa are gullible and these people are capitalising on this to milk us dry and also to brainwashing us into doing their bidding, such as sex slaves.

I was dumbfounded when I watched a video where a pastor instructed his congregation to be eating grasses in South Africa which lead to the death of the people.
There was a case of another pastor that asked his dumb followers to be giving him blo*job, that Holy Spirit will flow with his sp*rm.........  What a pity!! gosh!
The most annoying part is that, these empty-headed followers did it before he was arrested.

Should I talk about the general overseer that was a driver of the gang that went to rob the Bereau De Change in Lagos? Tha!  Permit me to stop these references.

The reason why we should stop worshiping them are listed below.  #As I see it

1. God is a very jealous God
In the Book of Exodus, Our Almighty God clearly stated it in strong term that HE is a jealous God and that HE will not condone us worshiping any other god, person or thing.

I don't need a professor to explain this to me but it is lugubrious to see people worshiping the heads of their churches. Though some of them have been brainwashed and will not see anything bad in it.

If you hold a belief that you can't go any other church apart from the one you are attending presently, please check yourself.

2. Belief in God not human
In the Book of John, Jesus Christ instructed us to believe in God but some of us have deviated from this.
Some belief in telling their problem to their pastors than God. Some have been brainwashed to the level that they can't do anything on their own again.

If some of them are invited to say an interview, they will not go until they call their pastor which in turn tell them whether to go or not.....  You say that is hilarious?  But it happens.

Someone close to me narrated a scenario to me about his experience in one of these G. Os' men some years back. He said during the church service, an announcement was made about the birthday of their G. O.
But what was pathetic was that they said that even if you don't have money, you may drop your mobile phone, so that it can be sold......  Imagine that!!!
That was the last time he went to the church because  o ja ara e (he didn't fail for the bait).

3. They asked you to build your wealth in heaven why some of them do otherwise.
If you browse the net, you will be extremely shocked to see the worth of some of them. You are about castigating me? Please hold on a moment. I'm not against them amassing wealth but my great concern is that some of these G. Os have a great number of paupers in their churches all over.

You are about asking me how they build their wealth? It is very simple, though I'm not a graduate of mathematics, but if you can imagine the offerings that people take to churches almost every service and then multiply it by all their branches.......  the rest is for you to decide.

Jesus Christ could have gone for a horse in his days on earth to prove his affluency but he opted for donkey instead.

Our pastors should be their brothers' keeper, this can be done through awards of scholarships and rendering good welfare package for the less - privileged.

4. Stop using your pastor's name to pray but God's
This is a common phenomenon among these new generation churches. I still can't find answer to why people refuse to use the name of God, Jesus, God of Elijah, Abraham and other known prophets or servants of God in the Bible to pray but their founder's name.

In the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, this is a convincing point to make those errorneously doing this to opt out of it because only God knows the God/god of your pastor or oluso.
The naked fact is that, the name of your pastor can't save you but God.

Pray to God not your pastor, if all of them so believe in God as claimed as their sole protector, why do some of them make use of body guards??  Just asking.

5. Use Jesus as your role model, not your pastor
Our pastors are all humans, so you should expect them to be found wanting in some area of their lives, so stop following them dogmatically.
Jesus is the only one without a trace of sin.

I would have loved to conclude this piece without mentioning the exhorbitant tuition of faith-based universities in Nigeria.
It is funny when people contribute money to build such schools and at the end of the day, their children and wards can't gain admission into them due to high tuition.........  Hmmmmmmm

° I will end this article with the following quotes;
If God can be in my toilet, HE is more closer in my bedroom

° If Pope with 1.2 billion members can live without a private jet, then our pastors should remain humble.

God is everywhere, it is not compulsory you visit your pastor before your prayer is answered.

You can share this to help a friend.
Thanks.

Ekiti news: Ekiti Sets To Break Record!

Ekiti State Sets To Break Record

It is not a mere speculation again that President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated three people from Ekiti State as minister.
Before now, Ekiti do have a ministerial slot.

They are Engr. Segun Oni, a former governor of the state who is the present vice chairman, APC South, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, a former governor of the state as well, that was ousted by the incumbent governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose of PDP and Barr. Femi Falana, an human rights activist with national and international recognitions.

Below are their little profiles:
1. Engr.  Segun Oni
Engr. Segun Oni is a first class graduate of civil engineering. One time governor of the state, he hails from Ifaki Ekiti, Ido/Osi local goverment of Ekiti, Ekiti North Senatorial district of the state.

Though the primary election that made him the candidate of PDP then was controversial but he was declared the standard bearer of the Party, this can't but be connected to the influence of the the president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

INEC declared him the winner of the election having satisfied the constitutional requirements. But the candidate of APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi wasn't satisfied with the result.

He went to court and lo and behold, after using three and half years in office as governor, he was ousted by the judgement of the Ilorin Court of appeal headed by Justice Ayo Saraki.

During this reign as governor, he embarked on my feasible projects but he didn't enjoy much support from the citizens of the state.
He is presently the vice chairman South for APC.

2. Dr. Kayode Fayemi
Dr. Kayode Fayemi is an international figure. He holds P. Hd in war studies. He hails from Isan Ekiti, Oye Local Government, Ekiti North Senatorial district.

He is a one time governor of the state that was defeated by the incumbent governor, Mr Ayo Fayose.
He won the ticket under Action Congress(AC) but due to his style of leadership, he lost his re-election bid. There was a report in some quarters that his policies were too foreign.

3. Barr Femi Falana
Barr. Femi Falana is an activist with global recognitions. He is a lawyer with a difference. He runs a law firm. He is well known for his fight against the government and his support for the down trodden.

He hails from Ilawe Ekiti, Ekiti South-West  Local Government, Ekiti South Senetorialdistrict.

I am beginning to believe president Muhammadu Buhari that his appointments are based on merits because if we are to use the template what transpired during the election in Ekiti.......  These development would not come into existence.

*The incumbent governor, Ayo Fayose insults  Buhari and APC at every occasion.
*APC lost the state to PDP at the last general  elections.

Working In Mortuary Is God's Calling Says Henry Okah

People die every day and naturally, the dead must be buried but involuntarily, societies in this part of the world tell to be uncivil toward undertakers. Understandably, this reactions scale from disdain to outright stigmatisation founded upon fear of death.
But a passionate mortician, who entered into the gruesome business at age 13, looks back 15 years and acknowledges that the profession is a noble and lucrative one that Nigerians should learn to venture into!
Henry Okah (not the coupist!), said every passion is rooted in divinity and declared histopathology is God’s calling for him.

The 30-year-old native of Afikpo in Ebonyi State is a certified mortician whose credentials and pedigree amase you.

“I am a Chief Mortician and have been on the job at various levels for 15 years,” he told Daily Times . “I hold a Diploma in Embalmment; I have worked at Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha,
Bendel Clinic Warri, Delta State; Queen of Peace; Abia,  Special Hospital; Agundu Hospital Awka; Regina Hospital, Awka; Maris Hospital, Abia state; Chetak mortuary, Obolo, Imo state; Amaku General Hospital, Akwa (now Amaku Specialists Hospital) and Cottage Hospital
Mortuary.”

Looking very confident and sure, the undertaker sounds philosophically, “The care of the dead requires the attention of people living. This requires very special people because you have to be special and God fearing to think of caring
the dead.

“In the beginning, a normal person would be scared to within an environment full of corpses; although after sometime, he may adapt and come to terms with the nature of the work.

But the bigger challenge is the poor remuneration, hazards we encounter in the chemicals we use for embalmment and these are compounded by social stigmatisation.

“I put in all my energy to work all hours of the day and nights anytime my attention is required; but in the society. we are not valued. Employers over labour us because they never have enough staff for the mortuary departments.”

Just how busy is the mortuary business?

“I have worked in a place where over 100 corpses were kept. I took charge of them all alone as my colleagues and two other persons, resigned for reasons which may not be unconnected with pressure of work, poor emoluments and maltreatments from both the employer and the society.

“On top of all that, some clients would shout you down; they can even accuse you of killing their beloved ones in order to earn money. However, some do help and appreciate us earnestly. I have so many clients who have been of help
me.”

Just how poor is the ‘remuneration?’

“You know in the olden days when the profession begging practitioners requested for gift items such as fowls, tubers of yam, drinks, etc. and they use kaikai (local dry gin) and some herbs for embalmment.

“But now, science and technology have been introduced into the industry for optimum service delivery, so all those gifts are no longer there. Now we use formalin for embalmments
which can keep a corpse for about 10 years with
decaying. In that wise, I can embalm up to 100 dead bodies in a day. I usually embalm a corpse under 10 minutes.

“It is unfortunate that the operators of mortuaries are yet to adapt to that moving trend in terms of good salary package for mortuary workers. All they do mostly is to discourage
from requesting for or accepting any form of inducement, bribery and corruption, but we all have families to cater for.”

How true is it that morticians communicate with the dead?
“I can tell you truthfully that it is not true. Dead people do not communicate. I believe people just like to be mischievous by creating those fearful tales. I have never encountered one.”

So it not true that you must knock at the door of a morgue before you enter?

“It is unbelievable! I have been a mortician all my life and i have never knocked before entering into any morgue. There is no formality for entering into mortuary. But you know some people can tell all manner of lies to extort money from their clients; I guess they even use those lies to defraud their customers.”

Do you pray for customers to come?

“Why should we? We don’t need to do that. It’s like a doctor praying for people to fall sick. It is unprofessional. People die everyday. So corpses
naturally come to us day by day. It doesn’t require public campaign or awareness.
When someone dies, the family will locate the mortuary wherever it is located.”

Would you advise your beloved to practice this profession

“Yes I will! It is a noble profession, very lucrative
respectful. We render services to God and man. That is why I work even on Sundays. Whenever I have cases to attend to, I will do that here. There is nothing wrong being a mortician.”
Caskets

Just how much does it cost to bury a dead in a decent casket?

“It all depends on how families wish to bury their loved ones. Caskets cost from N5000 to N,000,000, but they get rot between 3 to six months in the grave.”

There have been reports of missing parts, including disappearance of the whole corpse: what could be the cause?

“Are you saying that corpse or some parts could disappear? just like that? No! It may be that morgue operators or the mortuary workers sold it to the ritualists. This is why people must be careful of where they deposit their corpses. There was no such report all over the places I have worked far.”

How does Henry feel after a day’s work?

“Even though I desired to do the work before I even saw a mortuary, when I started the job, I used to have nightmare, where corpses attacked me. It was terrible then, and i wished to withdraw from the service. But later, I adapted and since then, I never had bad dreams. I now live normal life.”

How does the society relate to Henry, especially in the locality?

“Well, there is always stigmatisation whenever
introduce yourself as a mortician. The family members and friends often mistake you to operate with charms. Many people even believed we belonged to the world of spirits. But it all fallacies. Corpses do not strike. And you don’t need to have powers to be a mortician. I am a devoted Christian.

“So, to manage my relationship with wisdom, whenever I meet an acquaintance, I might be inclined to hide my profession from him or her … until they get to love and appreciate me for who I am. If not, they will run away.”

Message to government

“I wish to advice government to engage professionals in the field. Lots of quacks or what they call ‘contractors’ given us a bad image. It is a pity that they don’t employ experienced morticians to the job.

I was frustrated out at a particular government owed mortuary in Anambra State on account of the contractors they brought on the job after pioneer morticians like us laid the solid foundation there.

“They contracted a person who neither had academic qualification nor working experience to coordinate us.
The man was neither a mortician nor doctor but was picked from nowhere because of his connections in the government circles.

He looked down on workers’ salaries and welfare and over laboured us and the environment was polluted among other ugly developments.
“The best way to render quality service in this profession to employ experienced morticians!”

Well, you have heard it from the source. Want to be professional mortician? It’s a matter of choice.

BREAKING NEWS: Fashola, Amaechi, Ngige, Onu, Lai, Kachikwu make Buhari’s ministerial list

President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list contains a number of familiar All Progressives Congress (APC) names such as Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos state, and Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers state, TheCable can report.

Also nominated to be minister is Lai Mohammed , National publicity secretary of the ruling party, and Kayode Fayemi, who lost his Ekiti governorship re-election bid in 2014 to Ayodele Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

From the south-east are the likes of Chris Ngige, former governor of Anambra state and former senator of the federal republic; and Ogbonnaya Onu , first executive governor of Abia state and former national chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), on whose ticket Buhari contested and lost the 2003 and 2007 presidential elections.

Udoma Udo Udoma , a former senator who represented Akwa Ibom south senatorial constituency at the National assembly, made it as well.

Buhari also nominated for ministerial appointment, Aisha Alhassan , who was on the brink of becoming the first elected female governor before eventually losing the Taraba state governorship election to Darius Ishiaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

From his days at the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Buhari picked Malami Abubakar , a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former legal adviser of the defunct party; Hadi Sirika , a former pilot and former CPC senator
who represented Katsina north senatorial district; as well as Adebayo Shittu , former governorship candidate of the legacy party in Oyo state.
Ibe Kachikwu , group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum (NNPC), is a surprise appearance on the list.

But with Buhari already declaring himself minister of petroleum resources, it is likely that Kachikwu will combine his current portfolio with that of the minister of state for petroleum resources.

Amina Mohammed , former special adviser to the Nigerian president on millennium development goals (MDGs) and current special adviser to United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon on post-2015 development planning, is also a nominee.

Kemi Adeosun , former commissioner for finance in Ogun state, was nominated as well.

Let's keep our fingers crossed as the others are unveiled.

2015 Independence Day Cel: Read full text of President Buhari’s speech

“October 1st is a day for joy and celebrations for us Nigerians, whatever the circumstances we find ourselves in because it is the day, 55 years ago; we liberated ourselves from the shackles of colonialism and began our long march to nationhood and to greatness.

“No temporary problems or passing challenges should stop us from honouring this day. Let us remind ourselves of the gifts God has given us. Our Creator has
bequeathed to us Numbers – Nigeria is the ninth most populated country on the planet. We have in addition arable land; water; forests; oil and gas; coastline; and solid minerals “We have all the attributes of a great nation. We are not there yet because the one commodity we have been unable to exploit to the fullest is unity of purpose.

This would have enabled us to achieve not only more orderly political evolution and integration but also continuity and economic progress.
“Countries far less endowed have made greater
economic progress by greater coherence and unity of purpose.

“Nonetheless, that we have remained together is an achievement we should all appreciate and try to consolidate. We have witnessed this year a change in our democratic development.
“The fact that an opposition party replaced an
entrenched government in a free and fair election is indicative of the deeper roots of our democratic system.

Whatever one’s views are, Nigerians must thank former President Jonathan for not digging-in in the face of defeat and thereby saving the country untold
consequences.

“As I said in my inaugural speech, I bear no ill will against anyone on past events. Nobody should fear anything from me. We are not after anyone. People should only fear the consequences of their actions. I hereby invite everyone, whatever his or her political view to join me in working for the nation.

“My countrymen and women, every new government
inherits problems. Ours was no different. But what Nigerians want are solutions, quick solutions not a recitation of problems inherited.

“Accordingly, after consultations with the Vice President, senior party leaders and other senior stakeholders, I quickly got down to work on the immediate, medium-term and long-term problems which we must solve if we are to maintain the confidence which Nigerians so generously bestowed on us in the March elections and since then.

“As you know, I toured the neighbouring countries, marshalled a coalition of armed forces of the five Nations to confront and defeat Boko Haram. I met also the G-7 leaders and other friendly presidents in an effort to build an international coalition against Boko Haram.

“Our gallant armed forces under new leadership have taken the battle to the insurgents, and severely weakened their logistical and infrastructural capabilities. Boko Haram are being scattered and are on the run.

“That they are resorting to shameless attacks on soft targets such as I.D.P. camps is indicative of their cowardice and desperation. I have instructed security and local authorities to tighten vigilance in vulnerable places.

On power, government officials have held a series of long sessions over several weeks about the best way to improve the nation’s power supply in the safest and most cost-effective way.

“In the meantime, improvement in the power supply is moderately encouraging. By the same token, supply of petrol and kerosene to the public has improved
throughout the country. All the early signs are that within months the whole country would begin to feel a change for the better.
“Preliminary steps have been taken to sanitize NNPC and improve its operations so that the inefficiency and corruption could be reduced to a minimum.

“Those of our refineries which can be serviced and brought back into partial production would be enabled to resume operations so that the whole sordid business of exporting crude and importing finished products in dubious transactions could be stopped.

“In addition to NNPC, I have ordered a complete audit of our other revenue generating agencies mainly CBN, FIRS, Customs, NCC, for better service delivery to the nation.

Prudent house-keeping is needed now more than ever in view of the sharp decline in world market oil prices. It is a challenge we have to face squarely. But what counts is not so much what accrues but how we manage our resources.

“We have seen in the last few years how huge resources were mismanaged, squandered and wasted. The new APC government is embarking on a clean up, introducing prudence and probity in public financing.

“At an early stage, the federal government addressed the issue of salary arrears in many states, a situation
capable of degenerating into social unrest. The APC government stepped in to provide short-term support to the debtor states and enabled them to pay off the backlog and restore the livelihood of millions of
Nigerians.

“Fellow Nigerians, there have been a lot of anxiety and impatience over the apparent delay in announcement of ministers. There is no cause to be anxious. Our
government set out to do things methodically and properly. We received the handing over notes from the outgoing government only four days before taking over.

Consequently, the Joda Transition Committee submitted its Report on the reorganization of Federal Government structure after studying the hand over notes. It would have been haphazard to announce ministers when the government had not finalized the number of ministries to optimally carry the burden of governance.
“Anyway, the wait is over. The first set of names for ministerial nominees for confirmation has been sent to the senate. Subsequent lists will be forwarded in due course.

Impatience is not a virtue. Order is more vital than speed. Careful and deliberate decisions after consultations get far better results. And better results for our country is what the APC government for CHANGE is all about.

“I would like to end my address this morning on our agenda for CHANGE. Change does not just happen. You and I and all of us must appreciate that we all have our part to play if we want to bring change about. We must change our lawless habits, our attitude to public office and public trust.

We must change our unruly behaviour in schools, hospitals, market places, motor parks, on the roads, in homes and offices. To bring about change, we must change ourselves by being law-abiding citizens.
“Happy Independence Celebrations. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Ekiti State at 19: What you need to know about Ekiti State

Ekiti at 19: What you need to know about Ekiti State

Ekiti is a state in western Nigeria , declared a state on October 1, 1996 alongside five others by the military under the dictatorship of General Sani Abacha.
It was caved out of Old Ondo State.

History

Contemporary written sources and oral belief cum tradition that has been existing for several generations claim that Ekiti as a Nation that has her progeny in Oduduwa, who was regarded as the founder of the Yoruba race.

The Olofin, one of the sons of Oduduwa has 16 children and in course of searching for new land to develop, all went out of Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba Nation.

On their way, 2 of the 16 children, Owa Obokun (ancestral monarch of Ijesaland) and Oragun of Ila decided to stay in the present day Ijesa and Igbomina landing in Osun State.

The remaining 12 sons continued their journey until they settled in present day Ekiti State. They discovered there were hills in the place and named in 'ile Okiti' which was letter translated to 'land of hills' and latter transformed to the name 'Ekiti'.

The 14 ancestral fathers of Ekiti are;
1. Alara of Aramoko Ekiti
2. Ajero of Ijero Ekiti
3. Oore of Otun Ekiti
4. Olojudo of Ido Ekiti
5. Ewi of Ado Ekiti
6. Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti
7. Oloye of Oye Ekiti
8. Attah of Ayede Ekiti
9. Onitaji of Itaji Ekiti
10. Owatapa of Itapa Ekiti
11. Arinjale of Ise Ekiti
12. Elemure of Emure Ekiti
13. Elekole of Ikole Ekiti
14. Onire of Ire Ekiti

Another historical account attest to the fact that Orunmila spent a great part of his life at Ado Ekiti before he went to Ile-Ife to become the Oba of Oketase, Ife-Ife.

It is also believed by some that when Oduduwa travelled to Ile-Ife, he met some people already there.
One of the people he was according to the account was Agbonniregun, also known in Yoruba history as Baba Ibadan (Father of Oracle).

The descendants of Agbonniregun were also claimed to have settled in Ekiti State, Ado Ekiti to be precise.
That is why Ife worshippers do say that 'Ado ni ile Ifa' (Ado is the house of Ife Oracle).

The people of Ekiti are culturally homogeneous, this implies that, Ekiti indigenes practice same culture and cultural belief. Their dialect of the Yoruba language is known as Ekiti and one of the unique pattern of Ekiti indigenes is that, they understand one another perfectly well irrespective of dialectical variations of their town or communities.

Almost all the major towns in Ekiti State take the suffix 'Ekiti', for instance Ikole Ekiti, Ado Ekiti, Ilawe Ekiti, Ikere Ekiti, Omuo Ekiti, among others except Efon Alaye that has no suffix of Ekiti.

Ekiti State was carved out of the territory of old Ondo State , covers the former twelve local government areas that made up the Ekiti Zone of old Ondo State. On creation, it took off with sixteen (16) Local Government Areas (LGAs), having had an additional four carved out of the old ones. Ekiti State is one of the thirty-six states  plus Federal Capital Territory that constitute Nigeria.

Ekiti State is reputed to have produced the highest number of professors in Nigeria.
Several pioneers academics are from the state.
Pioneers like Profs Adegoke Olubummo (One of the 1st Nigerian Professors in the field of Mathematics), Prof. Ekundayo Adeyinka Adeyemi(1st Professor of Architecture in Africa, South of Sahara). Others include renowned academics like Profs J.F. Ade-Ajayi, Niyi Osundare, Sam Aluko and others too many to mention.

Following a prolonged political crisis, President Olusegun Obasanjo imposed a military administrator (General Toni Olurin ) on Ekiti State in October 2006. On April 27, 2007 Olurin was replaced by Tope Ademiluyi.

In the PDP primary of 2006, 1st-place finisher, Yinka Akerele and 2nd place Prof. Adesegun Ojo were supposed to be in a run-off to determine who would be the nominee of the Nigerian ruling party when President Oba Sanyo summoned them to Abuja and imposed the candidate who came third - Engineer Segun Oni.

He was later elected in the 2007 election as the governor of the state in an election marred by widespread irregularities and the AC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi challenged his election
and forced a rerun in May 2009.

The May 2009 rerun was characterized by even worse rigging and the election was disputes again. Eventually, after three years, the election of Oni was thrown out and Dr. Kayode Fayemi was declared the duly elected governor of Ekiti State.

In June 2014, The incumbent governor, Mr.  Ayo Fayose of PDP made a come back as the governor after defeating the then incumbent, Dr. Kayode Fayose of APC.

Demographics

The Ekiti, whose ancestors migrated from Ile-Ife as a people, form one of the largest ethnic groups in Yorubaland. Ekitis are culturally homogeneous and they speak a dialect of Yoruba language known as Ekiti.
The homogeneous nature of Ekiti confers on the state some uniqueness among the states of the federation. Slight differences are noticeable in the Ekiti dialects of the Yoruba language spoken by the border communities to other states.

For example, the people of Ado local
government area do not speak exactly the same dialect with the people of Ijero Local government area, while the people of Ikole area speak something different from the people of Ikere area.

The communities influenced by their locations include Otun (Moba land) that speaks a dialect close to the one spoken by the Igbominas in Kwara State .
The people of Oke-Ako, Irele, Omuo speak a similar dialect to that of Ijesas of Osun State.

However, part of the uniqueness of the Ekitis is that where ever is your own part of the state, you will understand well, when the other Ekiti man/woman speaks, in spite of the dialectal variations. In addition, all towns in Ekiti State take a common suffix, “Ekiti,” after their names.

The main staple food of the people of Ekiti is pounded yam with Isapa soup or vegetable soup.

National Resources

Ekiti land is naturally endowed with numerous natural resources. The state is potentially rich in mineral deposits. These include granite, kaolin, columbite, channockete, iron ore, baryte, aquamine, gemstone, phosphate, limestone,GOLD among others. They are
largely deposited in different towns and villages of Ijero, Ekiti West, Ado - Ekiti, Ikole, Ikere, Ise-Ekiti and other Local Government Areas.

The Land is also blessed with water resources, some of its major rivers are Ero, Osun, Ose, and Ogbese. More so a variety of tourist attractions abound in the state namely, Ikogosi Warm Spring, Ipole - Iloro Water Falls, Olosunta hills, Ikere, Fajuyi Memorial Park Ado - Ekiti and
so on.

The Ikogosi tourist centre is the most popular and the most developed. The warm spring is a unique natural feature, and supporting facilities are developed in the centre. The spring is at present being processed and packaged into bottled water for commercial purpose by a
private company - UAC Nigeria.

Moreover, the land is buoyant in agricultural resources with cocoa as its leading cash crop. It was largely known that Ekiti land constituted well over 40% of the cocoa products of the famous old Western Region. The land is also known for its forest resources, notably timber.

Because of the favorable climatic conditions, the land enjoys luxuriant vegetation, thus, it has abundant resources of different species of timber. Food crops like yam, cassava, and also grains like rice and maize are grown in large qualities. Other notable crops like kola nut and varieties of fruits are also cultivated in commercial quantities.

I celebrate with my Ekiti this day as she celebrates her birthday.
Good bless Ekiti State.
