5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Worshiping Your Pastor

Why You Should Stop Worshiping Your Pastors

I write this article to conscientize us to to the ways and manner that we relate with our pastors. This is not related to those with pastors callings alone but all that manage one church or another, like general overseers, church heads, oluso, just to mention but few.

This is based purely on what I have seen, read and heard person saying. But I believe some of us in Africa are gullible and these people are capitalising on this to milk us dry and also to brainwashing us into doing their bidding, such as sex slaves.

I was dumbfounded when I watched a video where a pastor instructed his congregation to be eating grasses in South Africa which lead to the death of the people.
There was a case of another pastor that asked his dumb followers to be giving him blo*job, that Holy Spirit will flow with his sp*rm.........  What a pity!! gosh!
The most annoying part is that, these empty-headed followers did it before he was arrested.

Should I talk about the general overseer that was a driver of the gang that went to rob the Bereau De Change in Lagos? Tha!  Permit me to stop these references.

The reason why we should stop worshiping them are listed below.  #As I see it

1. God is a very jealous God
In the Book of Exodus, Our Almighty God clearly stated it in strong term that HE is a jealous God and that HE will not condone us worshiping any other god, person or thing.

I don't need a professor to explain this to me but it is lugubrious to see people worshiping the heads of their churches. Though some of them have been brainwashed and will not see anything bad in it.

If you hold a belief that you can't go any other church apart from the one you are attending presently, please check yourself.

2. Belief in God not human
In the Book of John, Jesus Christ instructed us to believe in God but some of us have deviated from this.
Some belief in telling their problem to their pastors than God. Some have been brainwashed to the level that they can't do anything on their own again.

If some of them are invited to say an interview, they will not go until they call their pastor which in turn tell them whether to go or not.....  You say that is hilarious?  But it happens.

Someone close to me narrated a scenario to me about his experience in one of these G. Os' men some years back. He said during the church service, an announcement was made about the birthday of their G. O.
But what was pathetic was that they said that even if you don't have money, you may drop your mobile phone, so that it can be sold......  Imagine that!!!
That was the last time he went to the church because  o ja ara e (he didn't fail for the bait).

3. They asked you to build your wealth in heaven why some of them do otherwise.
If you browse the net, you will be extremely shocked to see the worth of some of them. You are about castigating me? Please hold on a moment. I'm not against them amassing wealth but my great concern is that some of these G. Os have a great number of paupers in their churches all over.

You are about asking me how they build their wealth? It is very simple, though I'm not a graduate of mathematics, but if you can imagine the offerings that people take to churches almost every service and then multiply it by all their branches.......  the rest is for you to decide.

Jesus Christ could have gone for a horse in his days on earth to prove his affluency but he opted for donkey instead.

Our pastors should be their brothers' keeper, this can be done through awards of scholarships and rendering good welfare package for the less - privileged.

4. Stop using your pastor's name to pray but God's
This is a common phenomenon among these new generation churches. I still can't find answer to why people refuse to use the name of God, Jesus, God of Elijah, Abraham and other known prophets or servants of God in the Bible to pray but their founder's name.

In the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, this is a convincing point to make those errorneously doing this to opt out of it because only God knows the God/god of your pastor or oluso.
The naked fact is that, the name of your pastor can't save you but God.

Pray to God not your pastor, if all of them so believe in God as claimed as their sole protector, why do some of them make use of body guards??  Just asking.

5. Use Jesus as your role model, not your pastor
Our pastors are all humans, so you should expect them to be found wanting in some area of their lives, so stop following them dogmatically.
Jesus is the only one without a trace of sin.

I would have loved to conclude this piece without mentioning the exhorbitant tuition of faith-based universities in Nigeria.
It is funny when people contribute money to build such schools and at the end of the day, their children and wards can't gain admission into them due to high tuition.........  Hmmmmmmm

Conclusion

I will end this article with the following quotes;
* If God can be in my toilet, HE is more closer in my bedroom
* If Pope with 1.2 billion members can live without a private jet, then our pastors should remain humble.

God is everywhere, it is not compulsory you visit your pastor before your prayer is answered.

Thanks.
