FG Moves To Contain Snake Bikes In Plateau

In the bid to contain the rampant incidents of snakebites in Kanke, Panshin and Shendam communities of Plateau State, the Federal Ministry of Health has donated large quantities (Vail) of Anti-Snake Venom to the Plateau State Government.

Presenting the drugs at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, stated that the donation was in response to the outcry from the people in the affected communities and as part of the Federal Government’s intervention effort in stemming the scourge, which had been ravaging the areas since August 2015.

The Minister, represented by an Assistant Director, Fatai Oyediran, who led a team of medical experts and environmental scientists from Federal Ministry of Health to Plateau State, informed that his team was in the state to confirm the complaint, assess the current status of the snakebite and carry out a sensitization and awareness campaign aimed at raising the bar in terms of prevention and control of the scourge.

He added that a survey to determine the most effective ways to control the incident within each locality would also be carried out by the experts.

Responding, the Plateau State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Kuden Kamshak Deyin, commended the Federal Government for its laudable assistance to the state.

Deyin further called on the Federal Government to decentralise the Zamko JUTH treatment centre and upgrade it to a research centre. He said this would reposition the centre to cope better with the big health burden the centre was saddled with.

Commenting, the Permanent Secretary of the Plateau State Ministry of Health, Pharmacist Abel Hamila Guyatan, appealed to medical experts to do justice to the snakebite challenge, noting that the whole geographical Plateau State was a snake endemic area.

Also speaking, the Medical Superintendent of the Zamko treatment centre, Dr. Titus Dajel, revealed that the centre treated between 80 and 120 snakebite casesper month and sometimes five cases were reported daily, particularly during farming seasons.

In view of this, Dr. Dajel stressed the need for the Federal Government to encourage local drug manufacturers so that the much needed ASV could be made available and easily affordable by patients who were mainly local farmers. He also lamented poor power supply and lack of adequate storage facility at the centre. These he maintained shortened the shelf life of drugs at the centre.

How To Have Multiple Email Accounts At Once On Your Android Device

Most of the smart phone users are encountering  problem having all our email accounts on our device at once without login out.

I wrote this because I was once in this kind of sorry situation, most especially the Android users.

It you have a primary email account before, immediately you switch to Android platform, you must have a Gmail account.

This will give you a nod to perform basic things on your phone.

But the goodnews is that, you can now have over ten (10) different email accounts on your device without any problem.

All of them will be available for real-time usage, that is, you can retrieve mails immediately they are sent to you.

You don't need a special configuration.

Steps:

  • Visit Google Play Store
  • Search for 'Cloud Magic'
  • After installation, open the application
  • You can now introduce all your email accounts

NOTE:

It takes as many as possible email accounts, irrespective of the domain of the accounts.

DSS Arrests Faleke, Audu Ahead Of Bello's Inauguration

The Directorate of State Security in Abuja has invited James Abiodun Faleke and Mr. Mohammed Audu forquestioning.

It was gathered that the invitation was unconnected with the upcominggovernorship inauguration in the state and the need to ensure peace and order before, during and after the inauguration.

James Abiodun Faleke, a second-term House of Representatives member was the running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu.

The late Prince Audu died before the governorship election was concluded in the state. In view of the legal vacuity of the scenario, Faleke has been consistently affirming that he was the right owner of the mandate givento him and the late Prince Abubakar Audu.

He argued that the election of November 21, 2015 was concluded and that a winner had emerged. But contrary to Faleke’s position, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress presentedAlh.

Yahaya Adoza Bello to INEC as the replacement to the late Prince Abubakar Audu on the strength that the latter came second in the party’s governorship primaries.

Also, it was alleged that many support groups in the state are threatening violence if Faleke was not declared winner of the election, asituation which might have prompted the DSS to invite him for questioning as the January 27 inauguration date draws by.

It was gathered that Faleke arrived at the Headquarters of the security organization at about 10.00am this morning and has not been released yet.

His invitation has been confirmed bythe Director of Media and Publicity of Audu/Faleke Campaign Organization, Hon. Duro Meseko saying the-the campaign organization was yet to come to terms with the invitation at what he called, “a critical period in the struggle for the Lugard House through constitutional means”.

He said Hon. Faleke is a staunch believer in the rule of law and has decided to pursue his case through legal means. He expressed confidence in the non-partisanship of the DSS.

Lobatan! Rats kill and eat 4-months-old baby after mother goes clubbing

A mother in Mexico has lost her baby to rats after she left her to go clubbing.

The 18-year-old mother, Lizbeth Jeronima Fuentes Munguia came back to the lifeless mauled body of her 4-month-old daughter after leaving her in her crib to go dancing.

Lizbeth ran to her neighbors for help and they called paramedics.

The baby girl’s face, fingers and torso were chewed up by the rats and paramedics pronounced her dead.

The teenage mother told the police that she left her daughter in the care of her mother but her mother was not at the home at the time of the incident.

Both the baby’s mother and grandmother have been arrested and might be tried for negligence.

Bayelsa Elections: It Is Election, Not War - PoliFocus

The disturbing news emanating from Southern Ijaw in connection with the supplementary election made me to put this together.

It is pathetic to see people risking their lives for political class and some even died in the process.

In every contest, there is always a winner. If this notion can be adhered to, the political tension will be a forgotten issue in Nigeria.

Read in the news about four policemen, three other people that were killed. Haba!!

After all the stakeholders meetings that were held before the election?

Where are we going in this country?

But the most irritating part is the usage of short-sighted youths are being used for this dastardly act.

Like I posited in the morning, I can take up arms in a election, provided I will be there will the candidate, wife and all his children.

That will assure me that since he gives me and his entire household equal opportunity, he means the business.

Some youths are myopic, on top how much? Money that can't even sustain you for two weeks.

Allow me to ask you this question, can you tell me the whereabouts of Seriake Dickson And Timipre Sylva' children right now????

You can never know, they have been moved to a very safe place, preferably, abroad.

The next time you will see them in public will be during inauguration, so stop risking your life for these good-for-nothing beings.

Who tells you that you can't even rule the state, even Nigeria as large?

They allow you destiny to be cut short in your prime.

To our political gladiators, 'di e di e, me na ho'. You guys should take it cool, I know that you have money to throw around.

But I can assure you that your ill-gotten wealth will soon disappoint you, when the blood of the innocent that you spill rise again you.

To the INEC staffers, do your best and leave the rest. I watched a video of one partisan ad-hoc staff the other time, my advice for him is to thread with caution.

As a staff, if unplanned situation arises, the only thing needed is to write a report. Taking side is unprofessional. He even went on calling name of party.

In his words:
"APC people came here with policemen, they have carted away election materials.

I will make sure I write against them "

My question to him is that, did they come wearing APC's branded uniform?? Even if yes, it can be used to soil the party.

We have heard about robbers dropping innocent's ID card at a robbery scene just to nailed him.

Though he has been enjoying support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ever since because he is the latest celebrity in town now.

But I pray he has substantial prove to his claim. PDP has been accusing APC of causing mayhem and vice versa.

It is a case of a yoruba axiom "Agbon n se, ikamudu n se, oju oloko wu gudugudu".

To the law enforcement agencies, please be professional in your conduct as well.

Election is not war!!!!
You may share this to conscientise a friend.

God bless Nigeria.

Onigbinde Blasts Toure For His Outburst Over Glo CAF Award

Former Super Eagles Handler, Adegboye Onigbinde
Former Super Eagles handler Adegboye Onigbinde has expressly admonished Yaya Toure for crying foul after losing the 2015 African Footballer of The Year Award toGabon’s Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.‎

At the Glo-CAF Award ceremony held on Thursday in Abuja, Aubameyang usurped Toure, who was gunning for a record fifth straight award. Ghana’s Andre Ayew came third.

But in his reaction to the award given to Aubameyang, Toure expressed his disappointment with the decision, questioning CAF’s credibility.

He endorsed CAF’s choice of Aubameyang.“Can one be the accused and the Judge? There is a meticulous system of selecting people for this award and probably he (Toure) does not understand the details.

And I don’t believe CAF have changed its system from what I know it to be,” Onigbinde said.‎SEE ALSO: Gabon’s Aubameyang named CAF Player of the Year.

“This award is not done by one man. It is done by media people, technical people, making their input.

Unless Yaya Toure can come out and say what he thinks that really went wrong.”Onigbinde dismissed Toure’s claim that the fact Cote d’Ivoire won the last year’s Cup of Nations, should havegiven him the edge

“Because Cote d Ivoire won the Cup of Nations is not a criteria to award him the award. It is a cumulative assessment.

It’s like when Nigerians are talking about the FIFA ranking, making claims that the Super Eagles won this match and that match, the question is of what grade are these matches.

“So like I said, it is a cumulative assessment, not just because you won the Cup of Nations and you think youare the best.”

History And Political Development of Ibadan, Nigeria

Old Ibadan
Visiting the city of Ibadan, South-West of Nigeria is the dream of virtually every historian, adventurer or philosopher in Nigeria.

Due to the fact that majority of the state of the arts facilities there are 'premier'. Ibadan is regarded as the largest city in West Africa, the second in the world Africa continent.

According to the literature, creation of Ibadan was circumstantial. The history of Ibadan had long been preserved through oral history but written record says it was formed in 1829.

After the collapse of the Yoruba Empire towards the end of the 18th century, ‘Eba Odan’ had been populated by Yoruba rebels. ‘Eba Odan’ means between the forests and the plainsand it was surrounded by seven hills, it functioned asa sacred area for the fighters that fled the war.

Before the existence of Ibadan, Oyo, a very powerful empire, was long established and govern larger part of Yoruba land, many fierce independent warriors emerged from Oyo such as Bashorun Gaa. Bashorun Gaa was the head of the Oyo Mesi, He wasa monster in the kingdom.

While on the throne as prime minister between 1750 and 1774, Bashorun Gaa was a classical tyrant ruler.

He instrumental the killing of four kings or forced them to commit suicide(Faleti,1972). Alaafin Labisi 1750 after 17 days on the throne; Alaafin Awonbioju 1750 after 130 days on the throne; Alaafin Agboluaye 1750-1772 (Agboluaje submitted to Bashorun Gaa’s dictation but was later forced to commit suicide under the command of Bashorun Gaa) and also executed Alaafin Majeogbe 1772-1773.

He also instructed the murder of the daughter of Alaafin Abiodun and later used the victim for money ritual. Bashorun Gaa, unconstitutionally hijacked all the political power andmachinery of Oyo kingdom. The elimination of Bashorun Gaa was a difficult task.

It cost the old Oyo kingdom lots of both human and natural resources. Alaafin Abiodun and Oyo warriors incollaboration with Aare-Ona-Kaka-N-fo Oyalabi, arrested Gaa.

He was tied to a stake at Akesan market and Alaafin Abiodun ordered that every citizen should cut a pound of flesh from his body anddrop it in a huge fire in front of him. He was made to smell the odour of his own flesh, his nose was not allowed to be cut.

The remains of his body were laterburnt in fire to prevent his re-incarnation. His embarrassing death led to the popular Yoruba sayingthat “Bi o ba la’ya O si’ka; bi’o ba ri’ku Gaa, O sooto” which means (if you are wicked and pigheaded when you see the death of Gaa, try to be good and speak the truth)Before 1829 Lagelu, the Jagun (commander-in-chief)of Ife and Yoruba's generalissimo, left Ile Ife with some people from Ife, Oyo and Ijebu to found a new city, at Eba Odan, the first city was destroyed due to an incident at an Egungun (masquerade) festival when an Egungun was accidentally disrobed and mocked by women and children in an open marketplace.

Meanwhile, In Yorubaland, it was an abomination for women to have eye-to-eye contact with Egungun, Egungun was considered to be the dead forefathers who returned to the earth each yearto bless their descendant. When this news reached Sango, the then Alaafin of Oyo, he commanded that Eba-Odan be destroyed for committing such abominable act.

Lagelu and some of his people fled to a nearby hill for protection (sacred place). On the hill they survived by eating Oro fruit and Igbin (snails); later, they cultivated the land and made corn and millets into pap meals (eko), which they ate with roasted snails.

They improvised a bit by using the snail shells (Ikarahun Igbin) to drink the liquefied eko. Thiseating habit formed part of the ancestral praise (Oriki) of Ibadan people today.

Later, Lagelu and his people came down from the hill and founded anothercity called Eba'dan on the same spot. They began to welcome more people to expand. Eba’dan became a refugee center. Various people, such as warriors, war escapee, escaped slaves, people in exile etc from various parts of other Yorubacities.

They developed more flexible laws because ofthe diverse nature of the people. Ibadan grew into an impressive and sprawling urban centre so much that by the end of 1829, Ibadan dominated the Yorùbá region militarily, politically and economically.

Shortly,Lagelu died, leaving behind a politically oriented people and a very stable community.Around 1826/27, Afọnja of Ilorin, who was the Arẹ-Ọna-Kankan-Fo of old Ọyọ Empire, refused to carry out the order of Alaafin, when told to wage war against Iwere-Ile, a Yoruba town in modern day (Kwara).

An unresolved rivalry brewed between Alaafin and Afọnja. Afọnja formed alliance with Alimi, the head of Fulani warriors (who are settlers in Ilorin) against Ọyọ, and Oyo kingdom was destroyed.

Unfortunately, Fulani supporters turned against Afonja as well and killed him on the order of Alimi. Ilọrin also lost its independence and became Fulani controlled territory. Therefore, whenever Yoruba says Ilorin is afonja’s city, Fulani will say ‘’it is Alimi’scity. This led to the present saying of ‘Ilorin afonja-Geri alimi’. In 1840, Fulani Caliphate began to raid towards Ibadan, Oyo indigenes begin to retreats towards Ibadan, a well developed Ibadan army confronted them and pushed Fulani back to Ilorin.

Few people later moved back to Oyo to form new Oyo Kingdom, but a weaker one, and many decided to stay in Ibadan.Ibadan kept growing economically and politically andbecome a safer zone for all Yoruba people.

During this booming era of Ibadan, one of the powerful business woman was Efunsetan Aniwura, an Egba descendant (who became Iyalode of Ibadan).

Efunsetan Aniwura (owner of Gold) was a wealthy business woman at Oja-Oba in Ibadan, she owns lotsof landed property and hundreds of slaves. Oral evidence reveals that she had three large farms with no less than 100 slaves working on each at a time.

She extended credit facilities as form of ammunition to the various Ibadan warriors (Ajagun’ta) when they were going on their military expeditions in 1872.She had a terrible sense of loss. Her only daughter died in 1860 during childbirth. Therefore, with the stigma of not having a progeny to inherit her legacies, she blamed God for her tragedy and vent anger on her slave and the society, becoming wicked, cruel and heartless. Her slaves are usually identified in the market with signs of cane stripes all over their body.

Efunsetan kicked against the military expansion of Aare Latoosa and stopped extending credit facilities to Latoosa when Latoosa set out for another war in 1874 (Osewa, 2005; Ilesanmi, 2010). After returning from battle field, Latoosa levied three charges against Efunsetan which led to plot of death against her around 1874.

In 1893 Ibadan area became a British Protectorate after a treaty signed by Fijabi, the Baale of Ibadan with the British acting Governor of Lagos, George C. Denton on 15 August. By then the population of Ibadan had grown to round 120,000 which made Ibadan the third most populated City in the whole of Africa after Cairo and Johannesburg.

The British developed the new colony to facilitate Ibadan commercial activities and Ibadan shortly grew into the major trading center that it is today.

It has the first that is premier University, Television, Radio, among others in Africa.

The first skyscraper in Nigeria can't but be linked to ibadan as well.

#BayelsaDecides: Violence, Ballot Snatching Threaten The Poll Again

The ongoing Bayelsa governorship election rerun is being threatened once more by violence, incidents of ballot snatching, despite assurances by security agencies and appeals by several stakeholders for peace.

The supplementary election is taking place in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area and 102 polling units across six other local government areas of the state.

Ahead of the poll, in the early hours of Thursday, there was a bomb attack on the house of the Speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mr. Konbowei Benson, in Korokorosie, Southern Ijaw LGA.

Although voting commenced peacefully in severalpolling units, as of midday, there had been several reported incidents of violence with electoral materials yet to arrive at some polling units.

Our correspondent reported that there was difficulty in conveying electoral materials from Amatoru Community School to polling units because of heavy shooting in the area.

He also reported that there was sporadic shooting in Amatolo, a riverine community in Southern Ijaw LGA, a development that preventedINEC officials from getting materials to the area.

In Agoibiri, two people were reportedly hit by straybullets while angry youths destroyed electoral materials at some units.

Around 9:30am the Situation Room, a coalition of civil society groups, reported that voting was disrupted by violence in Otuokpoti Ward, Ogbia.

The Peoples Democratic Party also accused thugs loyal to the All Progressives Congress of disrupting election in three polling units – 6,7 and 10 – in Biseni.

The supplementary election had become necessary following the cancellation of the election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state as a result of widespread violence.

The violence had prevented voting from taking place in the LGA along with others on December 5and a rescheduled poll held in council the next day was cancelled on December 7 due to irregularities and violence.

More than a month later, the same problems are threatening the conclusion of the poll which has also been characterised by a war of words between the main contenders – incumbent Governor, Seriake Dickson, of the Peoples Democratic Party and former governor, Timipre Sylva, of the All Progressives Congress.

Election observers had accused the parties and candidates of encouraging violence in the December 5 poll.

Thugs Invade ShopRite Mall In Warri

Armed youths alleged to be loyalists to the suspended chairman of Uvwie local government area of Delta state, Mr. Henry Baro, on Friday attacked the premises of Shoprite Shopping Mall, in Warri, amid looting, destruction and injuring customers at the mall.

Sources told DAILY POST that Baro, who was suspended last August by the Delta State House of Assembly over alleged misconduct, allegedly invited the youths to settle scores after a quarrel with a Naval official at the Shoprite.

Following the ugly incident, the state police command late Friday issued a statement, vowing to deal decisively with anyone found culpable in the attack and wanton destruction of the mall.

The statement which was signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, said that a management staff of Shoprite had called the police in Ekpan to lodge a report that the Mall has come under attack by armed thugs.“On January 8, 2016 at about 11am, one Akume, the Operations Manager of Shoprite Shopping Mall, Warri informed the DPO Ekpan Division on phone that some persons have invaded the shopping Mall.

“He said that the invaders beat, robbed and injured customers and sales personnel at the mall,” Kalu said.According to the police spokesperson, based on the report, a police patrol team was quickly mobilized to the scene and arrested one suspect while others took to their heels.

She further stated that police investigation revealed that one Henry Baro, the suspended chairman of UvwieLocal Government Council had an altercation with a Naval rating identified as Ma’arafu in the shopping mall.

“In the process the said Henry Baro invited his community Youths who invaded the shopping mall andattacked anyone on sight.

“However, police detectives attached to State CID Asaba have commenced discreet investigation into theincident and any one found to be culpable would be brought to book,” Kalu said.

5 Reasons Why We Must Occupy CBN On Its Ban On Naira-denominated Cards Abroad #OccupyCBN

The ban placed by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on the usage of naira-denominated Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards abroad is nothing but an aberration and misfire to the growth of the economy.

It's odds-on that this unwelcomed dictatorship decision will have negative multiplier effects on larger percentage of the citizenry of Nigeria both within the shore and in diaspora.

Also the policy will pole-axe some gloomy businesses. This rash decision is very uncongenital to the present ICT practice.

This after-thought or should I say beer parlour decision is causing untold hardship on us.

The flimsy excuse given was not tenable, CBN management has claimed in many fora that it has little hard currencies to disburse, we should ask them don't they receive money in same hard currency???

When you trade, you receive and also disburse. I don't have to be a graduate of banking and finance before I can understand that nor a banker.

Also that it encourages money laundering shouldn't have been said at all, we all know the bank that help these selfish politicians to launder money, #DasukiGate a case study.

We should not be paying for sins not committed, CBN should look inward, so as to reduce the rate at which corrupt politicians move money abroad.

All fingers are pointing to same policy makers for aiding and abetting these criminals.

The way our known activists suddenly lost their voices on this is worrisome. Where are people like Barr. Femi Falana, Barr Festus Keyamo??

If these known activists and human rights crusaders can't help, we can help ourselves by Occupying CBN [#OccupyCBN]

We should let them to know that we are stakeholders in the governance of the nation.

We should continue until this unpopular decision is rescinded cum reversed.

The reasons why you should occupy CBN are:

1. This will indeed lead to job loss

Many people are getting their daily breads using this platform. For instance, people that engage in mini importation business.

2. Students in diaspora will be affected

I was flabbergasted when President Muhammadu Buhari said in his media chat that the student presently studying abroad will be attended to, so that they will not be affected.

I then asked myself, what of those that are planning to??? Will the policy deprive them of the opportunity to study abroad??? Hmmmmmm

His response to the question made us to understand that he had little about the stupid decision then. I could read his body language.

3. Untold hardship for the adventurists cum tourists

This will no doubt be a big time discouragement for the intending tourist or adventurists.

4. Business empires will crumble

A lot of business empires will crumble. What shall it be of gain to the government of Nigeria who cannot create job but have interest in making more Nigerians jobless???????????

5. Online shopping now gone (shopping site outside Nigeria)

As a Nigerian, we cannot shop online any longer... What a shame!!

This present CBN governor, Emefiele is pushing us to the wall. His immediate predecessor, Emir Lamido Sanusi removed ATM withdraw charges but this man, after assuming office reintroduced N65.

We didn't shout but this beer parlour decision will not stand the test of time.

This act can be seen as being an act of a dictator. The last time I checked, Nigeria was running a democratic system of governance.

It is anti-people, intended to add salt to our injuries. Thanks to the leadership of the Senate.

But advising CBN is not enough but ordering them to reverse it should have been better.

This ignoble decision must be reversed!!!!!
#OccupyCBN

Funny?? Man arrested on suspicion of travelling to US capital to kidnap one of the President's dogs

A man has been arrested on suspicion of travelling to the US capital to kidnap one ofthe President's dogs.

Scott Stockert of Dickinson, North Dakota, was interviewed by Secret Service agents at a Washington hotel after they were tipped off by colleagues in Minnesota about the alleged plot.

DC Superior Court documents say his plan was to kidnap a "pet" owned by Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha, with US media identifying the pet as Bo, the eldest of the family's two dogs.

According to court documents, Stockert had told police his parents were John F Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe and he had come to the capital to announce his campaign for president. He told agents he was "Jesus Christ".

He was arrested after police found a shotgun and rifle - both unloaded - in his pickup truck. The police report also said they had found a machete, ammunition and a truncheon.

Stockert, not a registered gun owner, was arrested for breaking local laws on carrying a rifle or shotgun outside a home or business, according to court papers.

He was released from custody on Friday but must wear an ankle monitor. The Obamas have two Portuguese water dogs - Bo and Sunny.Bo came to the family in 2009, a gift from then Massachusetts senator Ted Kennedy.

On election night the previous year, Mr Obama said he had promised his daughters a puppy, adding that they had"earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House".Since then seven-year-old Bo and Sunny - who joined the family in 2013 - have been aregular presence at White House events, including welcoming children and receivingthe White House Christmas tree last year.

“Going to Europe to compete with the best requires a lot of hard work; the under-17 and under-21 are different from the football played in Europe but I think I am ready for the task ahead.

“Education is my first priority, though, I got the fame in football but I will like to continue my education in Europe; it will be best for me.

’’He urged Nigerian youths to always believe in themselves in all their endeavours.“From my own experience, irrespective of the situation,we should just keep our heads high, be focused and put God first in all we do.

“I want to thank Coaches Emmanuel Amuneke and Samson Siasia for what they have done in my life.

Too bad!!! Teenage Islamic State militant publicly executes own mother

A monitoring group reported on Friday in Damascus that a young militant has executed his mother in publicin Syria, because she asked him to leave the Islamic State terrorist militia.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the execution was carried out on Thursday by the 20-year-old man in front of hundreds of people in the city of al-Raqqa, the Islamic State de facto capital in Syria.

According to the watchdog, the woman, a Syrian in her forties, had advised the son to desert the al-Qaeda splinter group and join her in fleeing al-Raqqa.She was also quoted as telling him that a U.S. led coalition mounting an air campaign in Syria would kill all Islamic State jihadists.

The watchdog said her son reportedly informed the radical group against his mother, who was later detained, charged with inciting hatred against Islamic State and condemned to death.

Islamic State, which is also active in Iraq and Libya, rules vast territory of Syria. The extremist militants are increasingly the target of airstrikes separately launched by the U.S. led coalition and Russia in Syria, after the group claimed a string of deadly attacks around the world in recent months. Benue South Re-Run: INEC Fixes February 14 For The Election

Businessman wants marriage dissolved over wife’s 'intimacy' with his drivers

A 53-year-old businessman, Bamidele Sodiq, on Friday urged an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State to dissolve his 14-year-old marriage over his wife’s alleged intimate relationship with his drivers.

Sodiq, who resides at Owoyemi Crescent, Ajegunle in Ikorodu, said his wife was always spreading rumours about him.

The petitioner also alleged that his wife was “too close and free” with his drivers.

He said: “My wife spreads rumours about me.

“She was always playing and sharing jokes with my drivers.

“In fact, I suspect she was dating one of them because they were too close.

“I have reported to her parents, but she would not listen …Please separate us as I am no more interested in the marriage.”

The 45-year-old wife, Idayat, a horticulturist, however, denied all the claims and urged the court to help save her marriage.

Idayat said: “I am not having an affair with any of the drivers.

“They are just my friends.

“Please help me to beg him.

“I will stop those behaviours.”

The President of the court, Omolara Abiola, adjourned the case till February 1 for a possible reconciliation.

Abiola directed the couple to bring family members to the court at the next date of adjournment.

Goodnews!! Nigerian troops rescue 3,212 Boko Haram captives in Borno

Nigeria’s military said Friday that its men have rescued 3,212 civilians held captive by Boko Haram gunmen for several months.

The captives were freed on Thursday after heavy shootouts between Nigerian soldiers and Boko Haram insurgents in villages around Dikwa.

Dikwa is about 130 kilometers (80 miles) northeast of the Sambisa Forest, where the military has claimed to have contained the Islamic extremists.

One rescued victim told reporters they had been trapped for five months since Boko Haram took over their area.

“Many of our young men were taken away, some of us were killed and our food stores looted,” said the man, identified as a 56-year-old farmer and father of nine.

“We barely lived on the little that was available,” he said, supporting reports that the military has cut Boko Haram’s supply routes and the insurgents are short of food and ammunition.

Some 20,000 people have died in the 6-year-old Islamic uprising that has spread to Nigeria’s neighbours, Cameroon, Niger and Chad.

Oritsejafor has fallen from grace to grass – Cardinal Okogie

A former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, has taken a swipe at the current president of the association, Ayo Oritsejafor describing his romance with former president, Goodluck Jonathan as disgraceful.

In an interview with Premium Times, the soft spoken cleric said it was shameful that Ortitsejafor decided to abandon his office as a man of God for politics.

He said, “My brother, I must tell you this; CAN leadership today is zero. CAN has no leader,” he said.

“Thank God you are talking to one of the founders of CAN, and I was there as their leader for eight years.

Then, the whole country knew that CAN had a leader, not by my own might, but by God.

Because what we were doing then, we had only one voice. But the problem we have now is that people are struggling for power in unrighteous way. And because he is struggling for power, he can do little or nothing.

“And we didn’t buy the position. But this time around, because they are rushing to be in power, nobody obeys them.

And look at how they are making mockery of themselves and making mockery of ‘religion’. Is that religion? Today, they are with the Federal government.

We saw the writing on the wall when we left. The very first person that took over started romancing with Obasanjo.

Then one or two CAN presidents tried their best before it got to this present CAN president, Oritsejafor.

This is not right. Look at how Oritsejafor has fallen, from grace to grass.”

He also condemned Oritsejafor over his link with the $9.3 million smuggled abroad purportedly to procure arms and seized by South African authorities.

“They are ready with their moneybags. Where did they get the money from? Where did they get the $9.3m that has been seized by South Africa from? They said it was to buy arms.

We have to be very careful in this nation. What is the man (Oritsejafor) looking for? If you call yourself a man of God, then you should rely on God.

Why should he be jumping up and down? But because he was not elected, not chosen by God, that is what is happening.

Today, he wants to build a university, tomorrow he wants to be something else, next tomorrow he wants to be like other people.

He said Mr Oritsejafor is a sinking man and might take President Goodluck Jonathan down with him.

“And he is not going down alone; he is also staining the name of the Head of State. Of course, why not? If you eat with those with dirty hands, then you must be dirty”, he added.

FG Sets To Provide Insurance For Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram

The Minister of Defence, retd Brig. -Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali, Friday, said the Federal Government would introduce insurance package for soldiers fighting insurgency in the North-East.

The Minister, during a briefing with newsmen shortly after a Special Juma’at Prayer to mark the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Abuja, disclosed this, saying there were already numerous packages enjoyed by the military as a way of motivating them to ensure the success of the ongoing counter insurgency operation.

“It is an additional package by President Muhammadu Buhari to motivate our gallant armed forces and to take care of the families of the fallen heroes.

“Normally we have package for the families of the fallen heroes but recently we are introducing the death insurance which has not been done before.

Urging all Nigerians to pray to ensure the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists, the minister said that the military was getting it right in the ongoing fight against insurgency, and expressed optimism that Boko Haram would soon be a thing of the past in the country.

“I believe Nigerians are fully aware of what the military has done so far and with their prayers everything will come to an end very soon,” Dan-Ali added.

On his part, the Deputy Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Sheikh Ahmad Onilewura, prayed for the victory of the armed forces over the forces of evil in the country.

The prayer was attended by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar, The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the Minister of state for Environment, Alhaji Usman Jibrin, among others.

Earlier, the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, said that the prayer was part of recognition of the sacrifice made by men and women who laid down their lives to defend the country.

“We must continue to do this not only to motivate their families that are left behind but to also encourage our men that are presently fighting insurgency,” Saraki stated, calling on all Nigerians to always remember the fallen heroes in their daily prayers and also pray for the unity and development of the country.

BREAKING: Jim Nwobodo(An Actor In #DasukiGate), Fidelis Okoro dump PDP for APC

Jim Nwobodo
The wave of defection continued in Enugu State on Friday as three top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors included Senator Jim Nwobodo, who was the first executive Governor of old Anambra State and Senator Fidelis Okoro, who was a senator between 1999 and 2007.

They declared for APC at a State APC stakeholders meeting convened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jeffrey Onyeama on Thursday.

Nwobodo was recently named by embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) among those who benefited from the multi-billion naira Armsgate fraud, currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former Governor denied any wrongdoing, saying that the N500 million released to him by the NSA was meant for PDP leaders in the South-East to mobilise support for the re-election of Goodluck Jonathan as President in the 2015 election.

Members and stakeholders of APC at the meeting were shocked when Chief Jim Nwobodo, Senator Fidelis Okolo, stormed the meeting.

The Minister who apparently is attending the meeting for the first time could not hide his surprise on the turn of events, as depicted in his speech.

Some APC stakeholders at the meeting were apparently surprised by the entrance of Nwobodo and Senator Okoro into the meeting.

The visibly angry stakeholders said: “These are Dasukigate fugitives and food is ready politicians. Are they not those who collected money from Dasuki and allocated 14,175 votes to Buhari as against over 500,000 votes they allocated to former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan?

“Is their no shame in the country again? They are shameless and the unfortunate thing is that they cannot win their wards. They will infect and contaminate the APC”, the visibly angry stakeholders said.

All efforts made by Dr Ben Nwoye, the state chairman of APC, who seems to be the only one aware of their entry to calm the frayed nerves of visibly angry members failed.

Making his declaration speech, Nwobodo urged members of the APC in Enugu State not to be deterred by the electoral losses they have suffered in the State in the past.

“You must always lose. What matters is the ability to rise again. I must condemn our former party, PDP. I know we had problems. I told our former chairman, how come did we allow five Governors to leave the party?

“I am not looking for a job. I am talking because I want peace. I want our people to be part of the Federal Government at the centre.

I had a problem being an opposition Governor. I am not coming into APC because I want anything. I want our people to reintegrate and have our own share of the Federal Government resources”, Nwobodo said.

Nwobodo recalled that while he was in PDP, his wife had always been an active member of the APC, just as he pointed out that the slogan “change” did not start now but started in 1983 when he was an opposition Governor.

Earlier, a founding member of APC in Enugu State and former Secretary to State Government, Onyemuche Nnamani reminded the party of the need to keep tab of its members, stressing that those who worked for the party’s success must be recognized.

“We recognize our old members and open door for new ones. Peace essentially is guarded by justice. Without justice, we have peace of the graveyard.

Those who don’t cherish peace are those who have not tasted the other side. Please, let us do justice. Let us carry everybody along”, Nnamani said.

Other top APC stalwarts at the meeting include the State Secretary, Major General Chris Eze (rtd), member representing Enugu State in the Board of Trustees (BOT), Brigadier General Joseph Okoloagu (rtd.), Deputy Chairman, Adolphus Ude, Publicity Secretary, Kate Ofor, Okey Ezea, Peter Okonkwo and the National Vice Chairman South-East, Emma Eneukwu.

Iyanya breaks up with Freda Francis, deletes all her photos on Instagram

MMMG main act, Iyanya might have confirmed reports of his break up with girlfriend, Freda Francis.

Iyanya who has been linked to a couple of high profile relationships, became official with Freda mid-2015 and the Oasis Med Spa boss, confirmed it by sharing photos of the both of them cuddling in August 2015.

The couple who have made several public appearances together are reportedly no more an item now as Iyanya appears to have moved on with his life.

Iyanya confirmed the rumors by deleting all photos of Freda Francis from his page then unfollowed her.

Freda also unfollowed Iyanya but left his photos on her page. Then again, this might just be another publicity stunt.

#BayelsaDecides: Accreditation And Voting To Go Simultaneously As INEC Reviews Guidelines For Bayelsa Election Re- run

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revised its guidelines for the re-run of governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The Commission said all the parties had given their consent to the revised guidelines, which it believes would help to fast-track the exercise on Saturday, January 9.

According to the new document, accreditation and voting will go on simultaneously while ad-hoc officials, observers and journalists are to be given life jackets because of the terrain.

He said that the electoral body had started the movement of voting materials to the Registration Area Center (RAC) to ensure they were closer to the polling units, a strategy he was hopeful would make the process more efficient.

“Tomorrow we will move the materials directly to the polling units from the RAC.

“Another decision that was taken at a meeting with political parties yesterday [Thursday] was that we should consider accreditation and voting to go simultaneously and this is a departure from the norm but all the parties signed a document that this should be done.

“There is a lot of benefit in doing that. This means that we will conclude the polling quite early,” he told reporters.

According to the INEC official, the polling units will open by 8:00am, with a plan to close voting by 2:00pm local time.

The INEC had declared the Bayelsa Election inconclusive after it rescheduled the governorship election in Southern Ijaw for January 9.

Professor Mustapha Leki announced the rescheduled election at the headquarters of INEC in Yenagoa, the capital of the State.

He said the INEC experienced major disturbances and challenges in a number of places, especially the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

“These were occasioned as a result of severe militant activities. As a result of this development and working in conjunction with security agencies, our first concern is to take steps to stabilise the situation to ensure the safety of electoral officials and the security of materials,” he told reporters.

After INEC rescheduled the election, the major candidates – the incumbent Governor, Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Timipre Sylva – expressed displeasure with the circumstance that led to the cancellation of election in the area.

While the incumbent governor said he had set up a judicial commission of enquiry to examine the alleged violence and thuggery during the governorship election, the APC candidate said the action of the election umpire was a rape on democracy that had denied the people of Bayelsa the right to choose their leaders.

Shocking! Just days after it was finished, this giant Mao statue's been removed - Chinese state media

A 37m-high (120ft) gold-painted statue of Chairman Mao in China's countryside has been removed, just days after it was erected, state media report.

A village official told the People's Daily that construction of the Mao Zedong statue had not been approved.

The giant statue of the late communist leader, on farmland in Henan's Tongxu county, was said to have cost nearly 3 million yuan ($460,000; £313,000).

It generated headlines around the world when it was completed a few days ago.

An official at Zhushigang village, where the statue was located, said it had not been registered and approved, and had now been removed, People's Daily reported.

Land resource officials at Tongxu county also confirmed the removal of the statue to People's Daily, but said they were not clear why it was removed.

A photo circulated on social media , which could not be independently verified, appearing to show the Mao statue being dismantled, with the legs removed and a black cloth covering the head.

The statue was reportedly paid for by local businessmen and villagers, and was built as a homage to Chairman Mao.

However, it also generated criticism online, with some arguing that it wasted resources and was located at an inappropriate location.

Henan province was the centre of a famine in the 1950s resulting from Mao's policies.

Millions of people died in the famine, triggered by a campaign known as the Great Leap Forward.

Despite being responsible for so many deaths, Mao Zedong is revered by many in China, not least by President Xi Jinping, who praises him as a "great figure".

President Xi has also attempted to centralise power in China's presidency, and has used Mao's legacy to build support, while admitting the former leader made "mistakes".

Drinkers warned regularly consuming even a small amount of alcohol can lead to cancer

Drinkers are being warned that regularly consuming even a small amount of alcohol can lead to cancer.

Government guidelines on alcohol consumption have been revised, with men being urged to halve their weekly intake from 28 to 14 units, in line with the recommendation for women.

This means the typical British adult should not be having more than six pints of beer or five 175ml glasses of wine in a seven-day period.

England's chief medical officer, Dame Sally Davies, said:

"Drinking any level of alcohol regularly carries a health risk for anyone, but if men and women limit their intake to no more than 14 units a week, it keeps the risk of illness like cancer and liver disease low.

"What we are aiming to do with these guidelines is give the public the latest and most up-to-date scientific information so that they can make informed decisions about their own drinking and the level of risk they are prepared to take."

A bottle of wine contains about 10 units, while a pint of beer equates to 2.3 units.

Before, official guidelines suggested it was safe for men to consume 21 units a week - the equivalent of about 12 pints.

It has been stressed that the guidelines are not about safe drinking, but about managing risk.

Put simply, the more alcohol you drink, the greater the threat of cancer.

As before, it is recommended that Britons spread their units over the course of a week instead of saving them up for bingeing.

Meanwhile, fresh evidence suggests that consuming alcohol does not protect the body against heart disease as effectively as once thought.

Only women over the age of 55 may experience positive health effects when alcohol is drunk in small amounts, and there is no benefit to men whatsoever.

The report also warns that the risks of getting cancer "start from any level of regular drinking and rise with the amount being drunk".

Even consumption at low levels is linked to cancers of the lip, oral cavity, pharynx, oesophagus and breast.

At higher levels, there is an increased danger of developing bowel and liver cancer.

Modelling for the study shows that, compared with non-drinkers, women who drink two units a day on a regular basis have a 16% increased chance of developing breast cancer and dying from it.

But allow me to disappoint you a bit, it is not difficult at all. Google is even looking for more people to get on board so as to have more coverage area.

Adsense is one of the profitable ways of making cool money through your blog or website. But your site must meet a certain criteria before you can be approved.

Make sure your contacts are real because you first pay will be forwarded to your mailing address

6. Privacy policy

This is equally important, there are thousands of websites that help with that and if your are not that dull, you can use a running format to run urs.... Chuckles.

But don't copy word to word, you will not be approved. Because the crawler will see it as duplicate.

You can relate, if you are having issue with that... It will be sorted out.

7. Write unique contents

Please if you have been doing copy and paste, go and change all to draft.

Google team will see your site as an extension of another site that you are copying from

Write on sensible things that will make your visitors come again.

8. Don't put up pictures that you are not the one that created it, if you have no picture for the post, leave it like that.

After your approval, you can copy the whole world on your blog..... LOL

The number of your contents doesn't matter, but I will recommend at least 10, with not less than 800 words each

9. Avoid usage of 'forbidden or vulgar words'

Some words are not allowed on the net because they are seen to be offensive. For example, s*x, f*ck, etc

10. Use a simple template in your design

Let your design be simple, easy to navigate.

11. Submit a sitemap through webmaster

Note: Answer the following questions to the best of your knowledge
i. Does my site worth visiting?
