Senegal’s president unilaterally reduces presidential term from 7 to 5 years

President Macky Sall
Senegalese President Macky Sall has unilaterally announced the reduction of his presidential term from seven to five years.

A statement from the Presidency on Friday said the reduction of the presidential term takes effect immediately.

This means there will be no referendum on the issue which was previously slated for April 2016.

The statement said the president’s decision was intended to end the confusion among politicians over the holding of the referendum.

President Sall said the decision was among the 15-point constitutional development ‘action plan’ he is pushing.

For months, the opposition had been arguing that the referendum would not be held due to cost concerns.

At the same time, opposition leaders charged that the government was exaggerating the cost of the exercise.

Senegal inherited the seven-year presidential term at independence from France in 1960.

French statesman Charles de Gaulle had inscribed the tenure in France through the constitution of the Fifth Republic which he commandeered after the Second World War.

Heir apparent Senegal maintained the same up to the year 2000 when incoming president Abdoulaye Wade promised to reduce the tenure to five years but failed to do so. throughout his 12-year-rule that ended in 2012.

With President Sall’s decree that the reduction takes. effect at once, it now means the next presidential election will be in 2017.

Meanwhile, the former ruling Socialist Party is expected. to name the mayor of Dakar, Khalifa Sall, as it's. presidential candidate in 2017, sources said.

The announcement from the party is likely to be on January 9.

Mr Khalifa Sall is a rising phenomenon and promising candidate whom the incumbent president will have to contend with during the polls.

He defeated ex-President Wade’s son, Karim, for the Dakar mayoral seat in 2009 and has since been basking in the adulation of Senegalese for making impressive inroads in developing the city.

5 Lessons To Learn From Olamide, Don Jazzy Brawl (MUST READ)

L-R Olamide & Don Jazzy
The brawl between Olamide, YBNL boss and Mavin's boss, Don Jazzy over the winner of the 'Next Rated' award that was organised by Headies tagged "Headies 2015" must have gone to oblivion but there are series of lessons to be learnt from the rift.

The rest of what transpired is now history but I want us to take cognisance of some points.

1. In every contest, there is always a winner

This can be said to be the spirit of sportsmanship. Everybody can't win at a time, and for the fact that you don’t win today doesn't mean you cannot win tomorrow.

Going to an award night with a mind of winning at all cost made Olamide to utter such primitive words and even cursing fellow contestants using yoruba language, his mother's tongue is condemnable and unstatemanly.

Competition is all about selling yourself to the jurists and the jurists have the final say, even if you are the best in your own world.

So his outburst led to the reply of Don Jazzy, though he (Don Jazzy) erred also by mentioning his name.

By calling him out for insult is not proper and also primitive.

The issue of do-or-die ideology to issues in Nigeria should be discouraged by all and sundry.

2. Always mind your utterances in the public

This verbal war started by loose engagement of 'tongue'.

According to my quack knowledge of physics, one of the Newton's laws. It states that 'to every action, there is always an equal and opposite reaction'

This implies that improper use of words can degenerate into a cold war if not properly managed.

Even the most stupid person on earth can get angry. If that can happen to a' stupid' what of a sane person that has self-esteem to battle with.

So we should always mind our conducts in the public, not only people in the showbiz.

3. Talk less when you are infuriated

Maturity they say is the ability manage ugly situation to one's advantage.

And also to remain calm even in the face of provocation. Everybody gets angry but we shouldn't allow it to push us to do the 'unexpected'

We all wrong one another, so we need to develop a large heart so as to accommodate others shortcomings. That is, we should imbibe 'shock absorber' to entertain unforseen ugly situation(s).

Allow me to borrow a leaf from a myth about duck and hen. It was stated that when the hawk went to pick up the baby duck, the duck (mother duck) didn't do anything to it.

It was forced to return it when it discovered that the duck (mother duck) didn't utter a single word or act funny in the process of taking one of its baby forcefully.

But the case was different when the same hawk got to hen, the mother hen struggled with the hawk before it succeeded in taking it away.

The hawk than made a conclusion that, the mother hen has done its worst and this situation continues to present today.....  Chuckles.

Even Bible instructs us to be fast in hearing but slow to react.

4. Two wrongs can never make a right

The moment Olamide took to Twitter to vent his anger posting all sort of tweets, Don Jazzy was able to maintain his calmness.

If Don Jazzy were to be replying Olamide promptly (as e dey hot), the issue should have still an unresolved issue by now.

This is very applicable in our various relationships, when someone is pissed off, the other party should be calming the person down.

But in a situation where it generates to 'fire for fire', things will fall apart and the centre might not be able to hold any longer.

No human being is perfect, to err is human.

5. Ability to say sorry for one's mistake

I was at peace when I read in the news that Olamide has apologised for his outburst.

SORRY, can avert a war. So, it should not be taking with levity.

Only the brave has the ability to admit his mistake but the weakling will always look for someone or something to pass the blame to.

Like the Biblical Adam, when God asked him why he ate the fruit, instead of admitting his mistake and apologies, he apportioned blame to God and his wife.

He said, is it not the wife that you gave me that gave me the apple????

Though I'm still waiting for Don Jazzy to follow the same trend by apologising to Olamide as well.

So that the beef can die a natural death!

A boss can say sorry to his subjects. We have heard about presidents apologising, so people should swallow their prides in order to make the world a better place.

Record!! Rooney becomes second top scorer in Premier League history

Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney netted his 188th Premier League goal in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Swansea on Saturday and overtook Andy Cole as the second highest goal scorer in Premier League history.

The England skipper has only scored twice in 16 games before the match, but is now only behind Alan Shearer.

Anthony Martial had given United the lead, before Gylfi Sigurdsson levelled with a header.

Rooney produced a brilliant backheel effort to win the game for under-pressure boss, Louis van Gaal.

Van Gaal revealed after the game: “I’m very pleased for Wayne Rooney and I’m very happy with the performance, and his teammates also paid tribute to the feat.”

Rooney is now 72 goals behind Shearer, who scored 260 times in his 441 appearances in the Premier League.

Congrats to Wayne Rooney and entire Manchester United fans all over the globe!!

Olamide apologises over fight with Don Jazzy, swearing on live TV promises to comport himself in the future

Musis star, Olamide Adedeji has apologised for his outburst on Friday night at the just concluded Headies Awards 2015.

The YBNL boss set the social media community on fire after he took to the stage to bomb the organizers of the award for denying his act, Lil Kesh, of the Next Rated Artiste Award category for Mavin artiste, Reekado Banks.

This obviously didn’t go well with Olamide and he made his feelings known when he climbed the stage with the whole YBNL team.

His artist Adekunle Gold won the award for Best Alternative act for his song, Shade.

While expressing his appreciation, LilKesh prostrate before Olamide who then took the mic and said;

“This award belongs to Lil Kesh. Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that shit! The streets ti take over.

Every f**king single was a hit back to back.

From lyrically to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody”, he then threw the mic down and they all walked off the stage.

After Olamide’s speech, Don Jazzy won The Lifetime Achievement Award and while taking his award, he addressed Olamide’s rant on stage.

He said “Egbon Olamide, if you want the car, come and take it.” (Next Rated win comes with a car).

This irked Olamide who went on his twitter page to rip his colleague apart, describing him as Don Agbaya Jazzy.

“U respect me .. I respect u disrespect me I disrespect

u .. U still going to do d same tin to reekado when he leaves ur a lebel . Lol

“Respect is reciprocal… F-ck u don jazzy .. I mentioned my name .. I’ll fucking mention ur name fucking for being childish oloshi.

“He said if I want car I should come n take it seriously ? Do i look like ur maids ? Ppl wey de produce for u wey u de put ur name ? F-ck boy.”
He tweeted.

However, some of his fans were angry with the singer for taking the matter too far.

The rapper took to his Instagram page to apologise to his fans and public at large, for his misconduct.

“I want to apologise to my fans for my conduct, including swearing on Live TV, at the Headies event hours ago.

I recognise that you are the most important part of my work and my journey so far without you.

Therefore, you deserve better from me, I promise to conduct myself in a more respectable manner in future,” he assured.

6 Reasons Why You Must Stop Living A Fake Life (MUST READ)

Living large is the dream and aspiration of every youth and trendy but the reality is that God doesn't bless everybody at once.

Like what my dad usually say, if God answers everyone's prayer at once, no one will attend the next Sunday service, though it may sound rash but one can deduce fact from it.

Be that as it may, so in the process of your building up, you have to be modest in whatever you do.

Living champagne life on Coca-Cola income will not only destabilise you but will also shorten your life span.

Some of the reasons why you should be real are;

1. If you are living a fake life, you can never have a rest of mind

You will be thinking on how to use a lie to cover up for another lie.

Thereby giving yourself an avoidable emotional and psychological trauma. The large part of your brain that you ought to be using for something productive will be engaged in patching falsehood.

For instance, you have lied that you have a posh car, taking bike will then become a big problem for you because you will not want people to see you on it.

This will then breed unnecessary thought and thinking as to how to balance up to the imaginary level that you have placed yourself.

2. That is how you will be priced.

People will tend to relate to you based on your self-imposed ruse status. For instance, if you as a guy claim to have millions in your account whereas your account balance has minimum balance of N2,000, your girlfriend will not ask for less, because she will ultimately assume that you can afford it.

I trust our girls, even if I were in that shoe, I will do same. This is why some relationships do not last.

In every relationship, there is an id tendency to sit down and think of what you can gain from it, and if positive, then the person can give a consent.

But in a situation where you lied to the girl (still on guys) that money is not your problem but how to spend it, and the lady gives in for you. And you can't measure up to your claim, I don't have to be a prophet before I can prophesy that the relationship will definitely crumble.

Stay humble, let your partner know you and your worth, if he or she wants you like that he or she will wait.

This made me to remember an armed robber caught sometimes again, the flimsy reason he gave was that he needed to cater for the financial requests of his girlfriend......  What a shame!!

Some even get to the level of borrowing clothing, shoes, cars, jewellery for outing!! Haba, I don't condemn it outrightly but I don't think it is that necessary.

3. It breeds disgrace

Disgrace is the ultimate price for not being real, thus confirming this axiom, you can not fool everyone always.

There is always a time when all what you are patching will come to play in the public, if you haven't watched a yoruba film titled 'ALAKADA', you are missing something big, I recommend it.

The naked truth is that, no lie goes undiscovered. Someone that loses his integrity can be likened to salt that loses its taste.

Some even pay the supreme price by committing suicide when it is dawn on them that disgrace is inevitable.... Of what gain???

4. Health issues

Some are carriers of avoidable illness and diseases such as high blood pressure, brain tumour and above all, stroke.

This is in most cases as a result of unnecessary thinking. Because the real fact is that it is very difficult to maintain lies, because you must be able to consolidate on your previous statements, thereby subjecting your brain to unnecessary stress.

Brain is developed for creativity not storage but for liars, it is vice versa. Like our conventional memory devices, we at times delete some files in order to create space.

The fact is living a fake like is very expensive as to what is required to balance up. You live in Ajegunge and forming Lekki.... Diaris God ooooooooooo

5. It chases away helpers

This is one of the greatest disadvantages of this ignoble trend, people that supposed to help you ordinarily will cease to render any help.

They will believe you are living fine, whereas you are suffering and smiling. Everybody needs help, I'm not saying one should turn begger... Hell No!!

But it may shock you to know that the riches man in Africa, Aliko Dangote at times do need help of others in accomplishing certain project at one time or another.

If you are homeless and you are forming Maitama breed, you will die homeless. I'm not cursing you but it is a reality.

6. God will be far from you

It is written in His words, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. The tax collector and the pharisee, a case study.

Though for real, living fake life is far different from having packaging. Fake like is an extreme.

When you are yourself, you will enjoy undilluted peace and it will even open avenue for you to know your real friends.

Have a nice year ahead.

Olamide Blasts Don Jazzy On Twitter, Following Don Jazzy’s Statement At The Headies (See His Tweets)

Headies 2015 has come and gone. But it looks like there is a new beef in the Nigerian music industry with Olamide and Don Jazzy throwing shades at each other after Reekado Banks won The Headies 2015 Next Rated act ahead of YBNL’s Lil Kesh, Kiss Daniel, Cynthia Morgan and label mate, Korede Bello.

Olamide was the first to fire shots, as he grabbed the microphone after Adekunle Gold came out for his award, saying Lil Kesh is their own Next Rated and that Reekado Banks didn’t deserve the award and he used some yoruba swear words too, although he didn’t mention anybody’s name in his speech.

Don Jazzy came out for his own award and responded to Olamide ’s speech, uttering statements such as “I don’t like awards”, “I only came out here to support my children”, “Egbon Olamide if its the car you want come and take it”.

The last statement above struck Olamide’s wrong nerve and he took it personal and went to his twitter accounts to throw insults at Don Jazzy

See some of the tweets below:

"Fu*k u don Jazzy...... Fu*k ur whole generation I am not d bank....  God will punish u and ur fake as....  Bustard omo ale forming humble"

Don Jazzy is yet to respond to this Twitter war...  When he does, trust me, I will put it up.

But my advice to the warring parties is to shield their sword.... Some are seeing them as role models, so they should not let them down.

Conquest to Victory

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. – Rom 16:20
This promise follows well upon that of yesterday. We are evidently to be conformed to our covenant Head, not only in His being bruised in His heel but in His conquest of the evil one. Even under our feet is the old dragon to be bruised. The Roman believers were grieved with strife in the church; but their God was “the God of peace” and gave them rest of soul. The archenemy tripped up the feet of the unwary and deceived the hearts of the simple; but he was to get the worst of it and to be trodden down by those whom he had troubled. This victory would not come to the people of God through their own skill or power; but God Himself would bruise Satan. Though it would be under their feet, yet the bruising would be of the Lord alone.
Let us bravely tread upon the tempter! Not only inferior spirits but the prince of darkness himself must go down before us. In unquestioning confidence in God let us look for speedy victory. “Shortly.” Happy word! Shortly we shall set our foot on the old serpent! What a joy to crush evil! What dishonor to Satan to have his head bruised by human feet! Let us by faith in Jesus tread the tempter down.

Oil cartels resisting change are blackmailing Buhari – Oyegun

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, John Oyegun has revealed that “oil cartels and their cronies” resistant to the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari have continued to “blackmail and sabotage” the President’s efforts to make available petroleum products to all Nigerians.

Speaking through a New Year statement released by APC’s Assistant Director of Publicity, Edegbe Odemwingie, Oyegun assured Nigerians that 2016 would be a better year for everybody.

Oyegun said, “President Buhari’s administration inherited a corruption-tainted subsidy regime run by corrupt cartels.

“Oil cartels and their cronies resisting change have continued to blackmail and sabotage government’s effort on the issue of subsidy and availability of petroleum products.

“To this end, the presidential directive to the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, to adjust its pricing template to reflect competitive and market driven components should be supported.

“A review of PPPRA’s pricing template will result in a more efficient and realistic pricing system for petroleum products and also result in constant availability of fuel nationwide.”

Oyegun assured Nigerians that the that all the promises made by the party in respect of the 2015 election will be kept.

“The New Year holds great dividends for Nigerians when the policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration are enforced in the 2016 financial year.”

He noted that the N6.08 trillion proposed budget Buhari presented to the National Assembly would help take care of all the promises made to Nigerians, including paying stipends to the unemployed.

Woman stabs teenager over alleged ‘husband-snatching’ scandal in Ghana

Residents of East Tanokrom, Takoradi Metropolis, Ghana, were Friday, thrown into shock as a house wife, one Effia Mensah, stabbed a 15-year-old teenager identified only as Lu’lu over allegations that she was having an affair with her husband, Komnan Mensah.

DAILY POST reports that Effia, a mother of two had trailed the victim to her apartment which she claimed was rented for her by her husband on the other side of town.

Meanwhile, her husband who was not present at home to celebrate the cross-over night with his family, was with the victim.

It was gathered that the victim, an only child to her deceased parents, had been having an affair with the father of two.

It was gathered that Effia trailed her husband to the victim’s apartment, where she stabbed her on the eye.

When DAILY POST got to the scene of the incident, the victim, who had lost so much blood, was being taken to the hospital.

A police officer from the Komfoase, Takoradi Police station, confirmed that the mother of two stabbed her victim with a ‘sharp knife on her right eye after trailing her husband.’

He said, “I was just passing by when people beckoned on me, saying there had been an incident here.

When I got to the scene, the victim was bleeding profusely, with all her bed soaked with blood. I recognised someone I knew and asked him to take the victim to the hospital so I could investigate the case and arrest Effia.

“She is going with me to the hospital, after which, I will take her to the station for questioning,” the police officer noted.

Speaking with DAILY POST, Mensah said, “I was very surprised coming back to a house I just left, only to see people wailing.

“When I asked, I was told a certain woman who happened to be my wife, stabbed Lu’lu, my friend, who had been taken to a hospital. In short I was just rushing off to the hospital before you asked to have a chat with me.”

At the hospital, Essikado General Hospital, Lu’lu, who had been put under life support was crying profusely.

When our correspondent asked Mensah if he could reckon with what happened, he spoke further, “My wife does not understand English very well, hence, I will speak in my dialect so I don’t cause more harm.

She does not satisfy me in bed, so I decided to have a girlfriend who can satisfy me.”

“I wonder how she managed to know where Lu’lu resides, to the extent of stabbing her? Mensah added.

“I do everything as a husband, a father,” the father of two added, stating further that, “my family is never hungry.

Where did I go wrong or is it because I decided to take a girl friend?”

Meanwhile, when the suspect was asked if she had proof of Lu’lu being her husband’s lover before she decided to hurt her, Effia said, “I am very sure.

My husband hardly sleeps at home. So I trailed him on Christmas day and I found out where he always visited.

“I asked questions around before I concluded and today (Friday), he left the house very early so I decided to follow him behind without his knowledge, ” she stated.

Wow!! Tallest Jesus statue in Africa unveiled in Nigeria

The Bishop of Orlu Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Augustine Ukwuoma, on Friday unveiled the African tallest statue of Jesus Christ.

It measures 8.5 metres (28 foot).

It was unveiled at St. Aloysius Catholic Parish, Abajah, Imo State.

The statue, made of marble, is bigger than the 2.0 metres (66 foot) Ramesses ii Abusimbel statue in Egypt.

Ukwuoma performed the ceremony shortly after a mass attended by the Bishop Emeritus of Orlu Diocese, Most Rev. Gregory Ochiagha, and more than 100 priests at St. Aloysius Parish Abajah compound on Friday.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Chief Osinbajo Onuoha, who donated the Jesus statue, had constructed a 2,000 seating capacity parish church at St. Aloysius in the year 2012.

NAN further reports that the unveiling of the statue was used to mark the wedding golden jubilee ceremony of the parents of Obinna, Chief Geoffrey and Lolo Justina Onuoha.

Ukwuoma, who described the statue as magnificent, commended the Onuoha family for the gift and their benevolence to the church.

He said: “This statue is a great symbol of Christian faith and I pray that for the Catholics that the statue will continue to constantly remind us of what Jesus Christ stands for us.

“For other passersby, looking at the statue will also bring them closer to Jesus.”

Speaking on the golden jubilee, the cleric used the medium to remind couples of the need to see marriage as a vocation through which they could positively impact on the society.

He said: “God did not call any of us clergy and religious to be fathers and mothers, but those called into this vocation must use it to reflect God’s peace, love and unity.”

Chief Obinna Onuoha, the Managing Director of Premier Petroleum Limited and the donor of the statue, said he constructed the statue to fulfill a vow he made to God in 1997.

Onuoha said: “Asking why I constructed this statue is like asking how I came to this world.

“I am a Christian and a Catholic and Jesus statue
represents my faith.

“I believe we are here on earth for different purposes and each person moves with his/her instincts and I was motivated to do this to build up the faith of this community.”

Onuoha, who did not mention the cost of the statue, added: “It took about three years to construct and erect the Jesus De Saviour statue at Abajah.”

Married woman arrested for setting her married lover on fire over $15

A married woman has been arrested for setting her lover on fire during a fight over $15 in Zimbabwe.

The 31-year-old woman identified as Juliet Marega was arrested after setting her married 34-year-old lover, Hardlife Ndlovu, on fire.

Ndlovu allegedly told his wife that he was going to watch a football match at a shop but instead went to Marega’s house to have sex.

After a while, Marega and her lover quarreled over $15 she allegedly borrowed from him to buy potatoes.

They soon started fighting over her refusal to pay the debt.

Neighbors then heard Ndlovu screaming for help and rushed to his aid. On entering the home they found him on fire, rolling around on the floor.

The police were called to the scene and the woman was immediately arrested.
Marega admitted to police that she doused her lover with paraffin and then set him on fire because he seized her cellphone over $15 she owed him.

Ndlovu suffered severe burns on his chest, back, head, abdomen and limbs. He was rushed to the Masvingo General Hospital, and was later transferred to Harare Central Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Marega has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

French soldiers shoot car attacker outside mosque

Soldiers opened fire on a man outside a mosque in south-eastern France after he drove a car at them, officials say.

According to the police, the driver injured one of the four soldiers, who were guarding the mosque in Valence.

The driver has been hospitalised after being shot in the arm and leg but his injuries are not life-threatening, the government said.

French security forces remain on high alert following the 13 November attacks in Paris.

The motive for the attack, which occurred between prayer sessions when many people were outside, is not known.

Police say the man drove twice at the soldiers.

They shot him when he reversed his car and came at them again after the first attempt, AFP reports.

The driver is said to be 29 years old and from Lyon, an hour away from Valence.

A stray bullet hit an elderly bystander in the calf. Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a statement that the soldiers had used defensive fire.

The local mayor, Nicolas Daragon, has praised their "remarkable" self-control.

He also told local media that the mosque is "moderate". Some 10,000 security personnel remain deployed around France to protect sensitive sites.

2016Prophecies: There Are Plans To Assassinate President Buhari – Fr. Mbaka

Fiery Enugu based cleric, the Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has raised the alarm over the plan by some unnamed persons to kill President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mbaka, who is known for his controversial prophecies, is the head of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria.

DAILY POST recalls that he had in his 2015 New
Year message entitled ‘From Goodluck to Badluck’, prophecised that former President Goodluck Jonathan would be roundly defeated in the 2015 presidential elections.

On a similar note, the charismatic in his 2016 New Year message, which he delivered before millions of worshipers in Enugu Friday morning raised the alarm over plans to kill Buhari owing to his anti-corruption posture.

He equally accused Jonathan of killing Nigeria after which he handed over the skeleton to Buhari’s government.

DAILY POST captured some of the cardinal points of his message to Nigerians below:

“No matter how malignant the problem is, God says He will be in charge; fellow Nigerians, let us wait upon God;

I have a new message; I’m blessing and covering the message we are giving now in the prophetic name of Jesus; Father speak now as your servant listens.

“In 2013, there was a prophecy that was going to be an oil doom after several years of oil boom, and when that message came out of this ground, many started calling me a prophet of doom.

How can there be oil doom in oil boom? And the oil price continued to climb, but the message said people should start to gather as in the days of Joseph, that the people in government should continue to gather, let them stop squandering our wealth; but they never listened; throughout the six years we passed in the past administration, God blessed our oil with high prices, over N140 per barrel, but the message kept coming, don’t mind the oil boom, there is going to be oil doom, our politicians stop embezzling our wealth but they said the money will continue to come, our oil will continue to flow.

“During these moments of the oil boom, there was excess crude money, they didn’t know what to do with our money, when our youths were suffering and still suffering, graduates had no jobs, new industries were not built, our roads were not reconstructed, our hospitals were in shambles and total collapse; our educations systems were in shambles and these politicians were building good schools outside the country, Ghana, etc, even hospitals in South-Africa, and other neighbouring countries and when any of them is sick he will be flown outside the country because there is no hospital in the country worthy of authentic medication, you cannot find any country in Nigeria that has worthy diagnostic facilities; not one; the entire money voted for hospitals were looted out, corruption was in quantum, to the level that the Nigerian Bishops had to convene a prayer against bribery and corruption and enjoined all Catholics to be praying that prayer daily.

“All the money voted for roads were swindled; many of them became millionaires, billionaires over night in naira, in dollars, in pounds, in euro when they have no workshop; no business centre; somebody who has nothing doing, just because he is a politician, and they wasted our oil money, now the doom came and there is no preparation for it; the economy of Nigeria is an oil based economy.

“My beloved Nigerians, those who led us from last year downwards, they have killed this country; none of them is qualified to stay in this country by now, both the President, the Senators, the Reps, the chairmen of Local governments, the governors, they are wicked; it doesn't matter the man of God they worship with; I tell you, before God and man, all of them are wicked; they hate this country, they succeeded in removing the liver, kidney and cardio vascular system of this country, and handed over to President Buhari, shambles, skeletal organs of this country; a nation that is comatic.

“Nigeria, as we speak now, economically, security wise is in the intensive care unit; if the oxygen is removed, Nigeria will die, people of God prayed, from here and there and God gave us Buhari. God has told us that Buhari is prayer answered; President Buhari is an answered prayer; whether you hate him or like him, Buhari is prayer answered; the Bishops of Nigeria, the Catholic Bishops prayed against bribery and corruption and this President came with a charter that has to do with war against corruption; all the prayers we have been doing about bribery and corruption, God answered it in Buhari who decided not to discriminate; there is nothing like religious or political discrimination in Buhari’s government.

He needs all the support, unstoppable support; spiritual and otherwise; because if he is not the man in power now, had it been the last regime continued, by now, Nigeria would be for sale.

All the monies voted to buy this and but that few people stole it; but we see joblessness, many have died because of a few people, and these same people want to use you to engineer crisis that Igbos are marginalized, nobody is marginalized; nobody marginalized us; “I am not a sycophant; but I want to tell you that so far God is happy and he who God has blessed none can cause.

Many people are planning to kill Buhari; there are many plans on how to eliminate his life so that corruption will continue; so that embezzlement will continue.

But I speak to Buhari that God who put you there will protect you; be firm, remain resolute, don’t be intimidated; President Buhari God and his people are behind you, you are the answer to the prayer of His people.

“Can you eat your cake and still have it? Our past looters, not leaders, you may not understand, thieves in political positions, have eaten the cake of this country and now everybody is suffering it; the youths are suffering it, they want to tell you that you are marginalized; the Yorubas are not marginalized; the Hausas are not marginalized, Efik people are not marginalized; and it is only you people that are marginalized. In the present political scenario, the Igbos have the position of minister for external affairs in the person of Onyeama; the Igbo people have the position of science and tech in the person of Ogbonnaya Onu; if you go to Abia, you have industry and commerce, coming back to Anambra you have labour and productivity and the problem of our country today is unemployment and once there is job, there will be no kidnapping.

The Igbos in the North are doing well; the Igbos in the West too, go to Alaba, they are treated with kindness, why are we engineering things that don’t exist; and like I said before, those saying this have their children abroad and they want to use you.

“Listen fellow Nigerians, as it is right now, most of what we are suffering now and we are going to suffer were caused few years ago but the Lord asked me to encourage you.

Suffering is coming but it is not suffering under damnation, there is solution, it may take some time, but at the end of it, there will be testimony; Nigeria is the giant of Africa, Nigeria is the best country in this world; with the best weather; the country that produces the most strongest people; people who can survive everywhere, people who can relate with any type of person, people who can survive any type of weather-Nigerians; people who can prosper anywhere; the destiny, the dynasty, the authority, the destiny, what it takes to make Nigeria great is restored this year.

“As I have told you, there is going to be crisis but God will handle it. This year, God said my people will be over-comers, things will be hard but my people will be over-comers”.

[Sports] Criticism is part of my success, i'm made for the best - Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo insists criticism towards him is all part of his success in football.

The 30-year-old goes up against Lionel Messi and Neymar this month for the 2015 Ballon d’Or title, which the Real Madrid man currently holds.

Ronaldo has 25 goals in 23 games for Rafael Benitez’s side this season, having scored 61 last term, and insists those who label him “arrogant and vain” can only be ignored.

In an interview with El Mundo, Ronaldo said: “There are people out there who hate me and who say I’m arrogant, vain and whatever. That’s all part of my success. I am made to be the best.

“We cannot live being obsessed with what other people think about us. It’s impossible to live like that.

Not even God managed to please the entire world.

“I have a clear conscience. I sleep well. I feel good helping others, regardless of whether that’s with big things or small things. I look at life differently ever since I became a father.

“I can deal with the pressure because of the difficult life I have had. The person I am now is the result of the time I spent without my family and because of the difficult times I went through.

“I was ironing my own clothes when I was 11-years-old. My mental strength goes back to those days.”

Ronaldo’s Real Madrid host Valencia on Sunday in La Liga, looking to close the gap on Atletico
Madrid and Barcelona at the top of the standings.

Adeboye predicts new sexual disease, unveils 2016 prophesies (MUST READ)

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed his prophesies for 2016, predicting that a new sexually transmitted disease will emerge during the year.

The cleric also prophesied that things would get worse in the country before they improve, while on the international scene more natural disasters will occur.

Below are the prophesies which were published on his websites:

Prophesies for Nigeria

  1. Things are likely to get tougher, before they get better, but things will definitely get better before the year ends.
  2. What He (God) started last year, he will finish this year, provided we don’t rejoice too soon.

International prophesies

  1. Natural disasters, floods, fires, earthquakes, are likely to get progressively worse, until governments realise that these are part of divine judgment against those who have unholy laws. If governments will repent of disdaining Christ and his church, he will help them win the fight against terrorism.
  2. A major war will be averted this year.
  3. A new sexually transmitted disease will surface.

For individuals

  1. Some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year.
  2. Some will receive help from unexpected sources.
  3. Grateful hearts will have more causes to be grateful.
  4. For many, the pendulum of life in generally on the upward swing now, a chosen few will receive blessings so large they can hardly contain.

China Ends Controversial One-Child Policy For Couples

China has officially ended its controversial one-child policy, with married couples now allowed to have two children.

The change, which was prompted by concerns over the country's ageing population and shrinking workforce, was announced in October by the ruling Communist Party and takes effect from the first day of 2016.

The policy was instituted in the late 1970s, and restricted couples to only a single offspring through a system of fines and even forced abortions.

For years the authorities argued it was a key contributor to China's economic boom and had prevented 400 million births.

Families in rural areas were allowed to have children if the first was a girl, while ethnic minorities were allowed an extra child, leading some to call it a "one-and-a-half child" policy.

But it also led to heart-breaking losses for would-be parents, and prompted sex-selective abortions or infanticide targeting girls because of a long-held social preference for boys.

China's population is now ageing rapidly and there is a severe gender imbalance - all while the nation's workforce grows ever smaller.

The new law means married couples are now allowed to have a second child, but the limit on additional births remains.

Officials from the National Health and Family Planning Commission said back in November that around three million extra babies will be born each year over the next five years as a result.

This would add a total of around 30 million people to China's labour force by 2050, the officials added.

Despite the change, many experts say it is too little, too late to address China's coming population crisis.

Others have warned that many couples do not want more children, particularly given the costs, and the effects of the change remain unclear.

Man arrested in New York on suspicion of planning a New Year's Eve attack

An American Muslim convert has been arrested in New York on suspicion of planning a New Year's Eve attack on a restaurant.

Emanuel Lutchman, 25, is charged with attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State group.

Prosecutors say the ex-convict planned to carry out a machete attack on Thursday at a restaurant in Rochester, New York state.

He claimed to be receiving direction from an overseas IS member, according to US officials.

The US has stepped up security for New Year's Eve celebrations

"He planned to kill innocent civilians on New Year's Eve in the name of the terrorist organisation," said Assistant Attorney General John Carlin.

"Thankfully, law enforcement was able to intervene and thwart Lutchman's deadly plans."

The arrest comes as the US steps up security for New Year's Eve celebrations amid international fears of a terrorist attack.

About 6,000 police officers will fan out around New York City's Times Square, where one million people were expected to gather for its annual festivities.

The mayor of Rochester cancelled Thursday's fireworks display because of the arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, Lutchman expressed hatred for everything in America and talked of travelling to join Islamic State, says the FBI.

According to the criminal complaint , an individual in Syria instructed Lutchman to "do operations" and "kill 1000000s of kuffar" in order to prove his allegiance.

Lutchman - who has a criminal history dating back to 2006, including a robbery conviction - allegedly discussed the idea of using a pressure-cooker bomb with a paid FBI informant.

In addition to scouting an undisclosed restaurant/bar for a target, Lutchman also proposed kidnapping a couple of people and killing them.

Citing a lack of funds to obtain weapons, Lutchman finally settled on using knives or a machete for the attack, noting that his wife had a dagger, it is alleged.

"We just gotta show our allegiance," he told an FBI informant. "I'm ready to lose my family."

On Tuesday he went with an FBI informant to a Walmart store in Rochester where they bought balaclavas, two knives, a machete, duct tape, ammonia and latex gloves.

The informant paid $40 (£27) for the items because Lutchman did not have any money.

Lutchman was arrested on Wednesday after recording a video on his mobile phone pledging fealty to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

It is not the first IS-related terror case in Rochester. Last year a 30-year-old halal food mart owner was charged with plotting to kill US military veterans.

Media chat: Buhari is playing games with Ndigbo – MASSOB

Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign States of Biafra, MASSOB, has accused President
Muhammadu Buhari of playing games with Ndigbo with his claims that he is not marginalizing the bloc.

Recall that Buhari had during the presidential media chat denied marginalizing Ndigbo, stressing that they hold strategic positions in his cabinet including the Petroleum and Labour ministries and the Governor of the Central Bank.

The group which reacted to Buhari’s claims that Ndigbo are not marginalized, but occupy strategic offices in his cabinet, insisted that despite Buhari’s denials, there has been deliberate attempts by the federal government to scheme out Ndigbo in the top echelon of power in Nigeria.

MASSOB in a statement by its National Director of Information, Sunny Okereafor, queried the basis of Buhari’s claims of not marginalizing Ndigbo when he ensured that key position in his administration went only to the core North.

“President Buhari’s is being economical with the truth with his claim that Ndigbo are not marginalized in Nigeria.

How can Buhari ask who is marginalizing Ndigbo and to what extent? Does he want us to remind him that all the key and strategic position in his administration are being held by the core North?

If not that the Constitution guarantees that a ministerial nominee must be appointed from each state, no Igbo man would have been appointed a minister. In Buhari’s Nigeria, there are now certain positions which are no go areas for Ndigbo.

“We have always said it that Ndigbo have no future in Nigeria and have been made second class citizens in a country that they are major stakeholders.

This is why we want Biafra. Biafra is the answer to the marginalization of Ndigbo in Nigeria.”

MASSOB insisted that the cries of marginalization of Ndigbo and the struggle to actualize an independent state of Biafra has heightened during Buhari’s administration due to what it described as hatred for Ndigbo.

2016 Prophecy: T.B Joshua releases shocking prophecies on Buhari, scarcity, terrorism

Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua has released his prophecies for the New Year- 2016.

Most of his predictions this year are directed towards the African continent.

The prophet who cancelled his yearly ‘crossover service’, opted rather to address followers live on Christian television network Emmanuel TV.

He said, “There will be large scale scarcity, shortage of food.”

“As a state, country, continent, we have to go back to the farm to arrest, to alleviate the forthcoming situation.”

“I encourage the governments of all nations to invest in agriculture and to grant loans to deserving citizens to augment this effort,” he went on.

“The continent of Africa – how much have we disappointed God,” he added.

“Africa is supposed to be the breadbasket of the world.

We are supposed to produce a large quantum of food for the world.

This is our natural resource base. Food should be our primary export to other continents, food in exchange for technology,” he continued.

Moving on to the political scene, the cleric called on African leaders to “quickly arrest the political
situation.”

He stated that the frequency of terrorist attacks in the continent would increase.

“More African countries will be under siege by terrorists because of pros and cons in choosing leaders.

Mishandling of electoral processes will create a conducive atmosphere for terrorists.”

Prophet Joshua said people will stop investing in politics because of “limited resources and challenges”, adding that this would pave the way for those with genuine intentions to run for political office.

“When you are genuinely called to do the job, you will do it because of your love for it and not because of money,” he stated.

“This year, do what you love. There’s money in love.

Money in love brings peace and tranquillity,” he further warned.

On president Muhammadu Buhari, he said, “He has good intentions but a king’s intentions cannot be carried out properly without the support of the subjects.

He needs your support to lead us out of the valley,” the cleric stated.

“The president will do everything to reject devaluation of the naira – which is a good idea from a good leader.

But there will be overwhelming pressure which he will not be able to resist. Nigerians, support and pray for your leader. The future is crying for help.”
