Married woman arrested for setting her married lover on fire over $15

A married woman has been arrested for setting her lover on fire during a fight over $15 in Zimbabwe.

The 31-year-old woman identified as Juliet Marega was arrested after setting her married 34-year-old lover, Hardlife Ndlovu, on fire.

Ndlovu allegedly told his wife that he was going to watch a football match at a shop but instead went to Marega’s house to have sex.

After a while, Marega and her lover quarreled over $15 she allegedly borrowed from him to buy potatoes.

They soon started fighting over her refusal to pay the debt.

Neighbors then heard Ndlovu screaming for help and rushed to his aid. On entering the home they found him on fire, rolling around on the floor.

The police were called to the scene and the woman was immediately arrested.
Marega admitted to police that she doused her lover with paraffin and then set him on fire because he seized her cellphone over $15 she owed him.

Ndlovu suffered severe burns on his chest, back, head, abdomen and limbs. He was rushed to the Masvingo General Hospital, and was later transferred to Harare Central Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Marega has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
