Nigeria beat Algeria to emerge U-23 AFCON champions

Nigeria U-23 Eagles have emerged champions of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations after they beat Algeria 2-1 in the final.

Oghenekaro Etebo put Nigeria ahead in the 14th minute from the penalty spot after he was brought down.

The Algerians drew level in the 31st minute via an own-goal by Segun Oduduwa who headed in a Zinedine Ferhat cross.

Etebo restored Nigeria’s lead when he scored his
second of the game and fifth of the tournament.

In the 68th minute, Algeria were awarded a penalty after Oduduwa committed a foul in the 18-yard box but Ferhat’s effort was saved by Emmanuel Daniel.

Every effort by the Algerians to draw level proved futile as Nigeria U-23 Eagles held on to claim their first title.

Weekend Cuisine: How To Prepare Banga Soup

Banga soup is a soup made from the sauce squeeze from palm fruit (Elaeis guineensis) and is incredibly highly rich in nutritional value.

Ingredients:
550g/11b Assorted parts of meat, 225g/8oz stock fish (pre-soaked), 225g/8oz bush meat (washed), 1kg/21b oil-palm nuts, 225g/8oz ground crayfish, 1 onion (sliced), salt to taste.

Method:
Place the washed meat in a large pot, add a drop of water or stock season with salt and ground pepper and allow it to steam for 30 minutes or until tender.

Add the smoked fish and stock fish, cook for another 10 minutes.

Prepare the oil-palm nut to extract the oil by boiling the washed nuts for 20 minutes until soft.

Remove from water and pound to remove the oil.

Pass through a sieve to separate the kernels from the chaff.

Pour the strained pulp into the meat together with sliced pepper, onions, tomatoes, curry and ground melon.

Sprinkle in the crayfish and cook for 15 minutes until the soup is fairly reduced and thickened to cover the back of spoon.

Check seasoning and serve with pounded yam, fufu, semovita, usin/egun obobo (starch and plaintan pudding).

Note:
Fresh fish crayfish and shrimps could be used instead of meat with a small amount of sliced okro added instead of ground melon.

Freshly washed bitter leaf could also be added.

Have a nice weekend.

President Jammeh declares Gambia an Islamic Republic

President Yahya Jammeh
Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has declared his Muslim-majority country an Islamic republic, saying the move marks a break with the colonial past.

Mr Jammeh told state TV the proclamation was in line with Gambia’s “religious identity and values”.

He added that no dress code would be imposed and citizens of other faiths would be allowed to practise freely.

Some 90 per cent of Gambians are Muslim. The former British colony’s economy relies heavily on tourism.

However, relations with the West have soured recently.

The European Union temporarily withheld aid money to Gambia last year over its poor human rights record.

Mr Jammeh has been president of the tiny West African country for 21 years.

“As Muslims are the majority in the country, the
Gambia cannot afford to continue the colonial legacy,”

Mr Jammeh told state TV, explaining his decision to proclaim an Islamic republic.

Other Islamic republics include Iran, Pakistan and – in Africa, Mauritania.

Mr Jammeh withdrew Gambia from the Commonwealth in 2013, describing the organisation as neo-colonial.

In 2007, he claimed to have found a herbal cure for Aids.

Kanu Nwankwo In Financial Trouble As Court Orders His Accounts To Be Frozen Over N924M Debt

In a bid to recover a debt of N924,788,754.56, a Federal high court sitting in Lagos, southwest Nigeria has ordered that all accounts belonging to former captain of the Super Eagles, Nwankwo Kanu and his company, The Hardley Apartments anywhere and in any bank or financial institution in Nigeria should be frozen pending the hearing of suit file against them.

Also affected by the other of the court is a Director of Hardley Apartment, Ayoola Gam-Ikon.

The order of the court was as a result of a debt recovery suit filed by Asset Management Corporation Of Nigeria (AMCON) against the defendants.

In an affidavit sworn to by a Credit officer in the Directorate of AMCON Mr Victor Igabor, filed and argued by Barrister Niyi Olopade, the deponent averred that sometime between May, 2008 and January 10,2011 Skye bank offered The Hardley Apartments engaged in business of Hospitality located at Plot 46 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria island, Lagos a loan of N520,457,000.

The loan was secured by a mortgage on the company’s three blocks of 40 accommodation units estimated in open market value of N395million as well as unconditional personal, joint and several guarantee of Ayoola Gam-Ikon and Nwankwo Kanu.

The defendants failed to repay the loan with the accrued interest despite repeated demands, consequent upon which Skye bank Plc assigned the defendants indebtedness in the sum of N558,313,905.37 as at 1st April, 2011 to the AMCON as a toxic bank asset in line with the establishment objective of the said AMCON.

Mr Igabor averred further that, this development was communicated to the defendants by Skye bank who admitted their indebtedness but praying that the assignment to AMCON be revoked.

The defendants’ indebtedness as at the 15th October 2015 stood at N924,778,754.56 representing principal and interest while interest is still running.

Consequently, Igabor contended that The Hardley Apartments is in imminent of being dissipated, therefore if the application is not granted, Ayoola Gam-Ikon and Nawankwo Kanu could dissipate the assets of the company therefore urged the court to issue interim order of possessing of all movable and immovable properties known as Plot 46 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island.

An order attaching the debt due from Hardley Apartments as well as debts accurring from the defendants jointly and severally and freezing all accounts belonging to the defendants jointly and severally in any bank or financial institution in Nigeria.

The presiding judge, Okon Abang while acceding to the request of AMCON, ordered that, AMCON shall in the interim possess all the movable and immovable properties known as Plot 46 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos.

That in the interim the debt due or accruing from the Hardley Apartments as well as the debts accruing from the defendants jointly and severally and freezing all accounts belonging to the defendants jointly and severally anywhere and in any bank and any financial institution in Nigeria are hereby attached pending the hearing of this suit.

The matter has been adjourned for hearing.

6 Hard Lessons From Sahara Reporters' Godswill Akpabio Appeal Court Ruling

The report of Sahara Reporters on the verdict of the Senate's Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has exposed the rots in Nigeria's media space.

In case you missed the report, Sahara Reporters posted a news item that Godswill Akpabio’s election was nullified whereas the Appeal Court didn't even seat that day, but the a day after the report was posted.

The report was a sharp contrast from the verdict delivered. The election was upheld not nullified as posited by SaharaReporters.

The reason for the post can only be told by the Sahara management. But some lessons are there to be learnt.

People were hoodwinked because of the trust in the online media outfit.

The hard lessons are:

1. Our media practitioners can now be regarded as 'Copy and Paste journalists'. They are not ready to do any bit of research again, that is why the same thing you see on a website, you will same stuff on hundreds of websites cum blogs verbatim.

We should desist from this, reportage shouldn't be one sided or from a source.  If a post by a media outfit can shake Nigeria like that, then we are in a hot soup.

2. People are not ready to engage in investigative journalism any longer. I'm not saying that you should visit the scene of the happening always but you can make use of the search engines to ascertain the veracity of the said report.

It doesn't matter when you post your news, because I'm have come to know that everyone wants to be breaking news but if the type of news you break are not always correct, you will lose your credibility and integrity.

Take your time to do little research on the news items before you post anything.

3. Mind the kind of 'words' you use when reporting. I guess the main reason why people fell for that crap was the one of the words used. "authoritatively"

Authoritatively means having confidence and be sure of something, whereas the story was false at the end of the day.

Sahara should have simply put it like this, Godswill Akpabio has allegedly loses his seat in the senate.

People will know that it is still sketchy or you can say a rumour yet to be confirmed or debunked.

We should be careful on our usage of words, because it counts.

4. Negative news moves faster than good ones. This has been proved to be truism over the centuries.

For instance, I know of a reputable media outfit in Nigeria that is yet to report Senator Buruji Kashamu’s Appeal Court verdict but his sack by the tribunal was very echoed by same outfit.

News items shouldn't always be negative or written to attack personalities, organisations, political parties, just to mention but few.

Though I can't shy away from the fact that people love such news items but they should not be based on lies.

5. Be unbiased in your reportage. Though we all have our interest on certain issues, that is,  vested interest.

But we should be trying to balance the reports, leaning too much on your line of interest may make you to lose your credibility.

I read a lot of posts and comments on daily basis, Nigeria is now very divided along ethnic groups and political inclinations.

This indeed has patterned the ways and manners that such people write but the fact is that, as a good information manager, you should be able to strike a balance between your interest and the real happenings.

You should not allow your emotions to dictate what you write, be objective to your best of knowledge. Remember that your op-ed can be accessed all over the world.

6. Admittance of mistake. I was very happy when I saw an apology post by Sahara. Stating that they erred on Akpabio’s story.

That is a welcome development, some people are too big to admit their mistake, instead they will be looking for someone to blame for it, like the Biblical Adam.

We all err at a point, but maturity is when you admit your mistake(s) and you apologise.

Simple 'Sorry' can avert a war from taking place if rendered at a crucial time.

Learn how to take responsibility for all your actions and inactions.

Shouldn't the Senate Go On With The Social Media Bill??

The resent unpopular bill about social media that is being sponsored by Sen. Ibn Na'Allah no doubt has been generating a lot of controversies within the old and the trendy.

But to every coin, there are always two sides. I once posited that the bill is anti-people and will work against democratic system.

Where it is believed that the citizens have freedom of information, though in the real sense, this much publicised 'freedom of information' is always on paper.

Thanks to the social media that now gives us the ample opportunity to relate well with our representatives at various offices (political office holders), loved ones and role models.

You don't have to knock on anyone's door any longer before you pass a message to him or her.

No doubt, social media is now a largest constituency in Nigeria.

Be that as it may, I think regulating the 'social media space' may not be a complete bad idea.

Using the report of one of the foremost online news agency, Sahara Reporters of yesterday, 10th of December, 2015 as a case study.

The post started like 'Sahara Reporters can authoritatively confirm that the Senate's Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio lost at the Appeal Court'

I didn't quote the post verbatim, but my emphasis is on 'authoritatively'!

When in contrast, the judgement was delivered earlier today..... Hmmmmmmm

It creates a poser and requires logical analysis before arriving at a reasonable conclusion, should we say that SaharaReporters decided to post that to heat up the polity unnecessary??

How on earth should a media house report an event that has never happened??

Even I fell for it like many news platform, but I have apologied for the crap.

There is no organisation or platform without sensorship, if the 'sensorship' will not gag the social media, I'm in support.

But if otherwise, I'm not. I still can't fathom the reason for the 'avoidable blunder and well orchestrated plan' by SaharaReporters.

Every pressmen and online publishers should be able to post news that they can vet and a also stand by.

Not because you have access to the internet, you then abuse it.

It is my believe that our Senators will listen to vox la populi and do the needful but on our ends, as publishers, we should let integrity be our watchwords.

Let's be guided.

Full Text: Buhari’s Keynote Address At Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation Lecture

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday delivered the keynote address at the 15th Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation Lecture which held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

INCORRUPTIBILITY; A SPIRITUAL PREMISE FOR MATERIAL WELLBEING KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI AT THE OSIGWE ANYIAM-OSIGWE FOUNDATION LECTURE HELD ON DECEMBER 11, 2015,
AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE, ABUJA.

PROTOCOLS
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I want to begin by appreciating the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation for its impact on the development of ideas through its annual lecture series.

The fact that the themes of the lecture series have focused on critical puzzles bordering on
human development lends credence and justification for the sustenance of the lecture series.

It is no doubt that an event like this demands a lot of sacrifice financially and otherwise. Apart from the contribution of the lecture series to human development, it has also unveiled the genius personality of Emmanuel Onyechere Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe, whose philosophical
insight is gradually finding place in the psyche of academics globally, particularly at a time when Africans are determined to rewrite their own history.

The topic of discourse at this session, which is corruption, significantly ties into my vision for our great country, Nigeria, that we must kill corruption before corruption will kill us.

My being here to deliver the keynote address at
today’s session is instructive on the resolve of this government to interface with initiatives that are fundamentally patriotic and assisting in our path to socio-economic and political recovery.

In the last general elections, in the midst of a number of issues upon which we campaigned as a party, the one that gained higher currency in the psyche of our people was that Nigerians needed leadership that could be relied upon to tackle the orgy of corruption in the country.

While our programme of action identified corruption as a very dangerous challenge that must be curtailed if our country could ever generate a future of hope, the issues of collapsing educational system, diversification of our economy, fostering a welfare based agenda for the disadvantaged, infrastructural development, among others, were also very prominent in our campaign focus.

The primary attention that tackling corruption earned in the course of our campaign and in determining the final outcome of the election underpins how seriously Nigerians see corruption as a fundamental factor crippling the progress and development of the country.
Nigerians are, indeed, convinced that except we curtail corruption, the country will remain in perennial regression.

It is upon this conviction of our people that corruption poses great danger and should be curtailed that we anchor our hope.

It underpins our assurance that the
efforts of this government in checking corruption will yield significant successes in the final outcome.

In other words, we note that sheer heroism cannot achieve the elimination of corruption from our social space.

What is most required is the conviction of the
populace that corruption is an antithesis to social cohesion and development, and must be eliminated.

We must get to a point where every Nigerian begins to hate corruption with a passion, and collectively determine to root it out of our body polity.

Any effort to try to deal with corruption without a convinced populace will end as spasmodic, ephemeral exercise, lacking the appropriate social impact.

When we are talking about corruption conventionally, it is a manifestation of the human mindset. It is the human beings that manifest corruption.

To win the war on corruption, therefore, begins with the people accepting that there is an error to be corrected in their lives, that there is a need to refocus and re-orientate the values that we cherish and hold dear.

It requires change of mindset, change of attitude, and change of conduct.

The decision of the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation to choose corruption as the topic of discourse at this session is, therefore, encouraging to this government, pursuant to
our vision that winning the war against corruption requires our synergy, a collectivisation of our resolve that corruption must be eliminated in the social psyche of the
Nigerian nation.

Even in my earlier years in service to our country, I had personally identified the destructive impact of corruption.

Taken from the narrow perspective of the embezzlement of public funds, its social consequence of gross economic inequality alters the basis for social peace and security.

When given the opportunity to play a leading role in our national history in 1984, we acknowledged that corruption is not just about the embezzlement of public funds but that the perversion of our consciousness and mindset was the point at stake.

This was the basis of our War AGAINST INDISCIPLINE (WAI) – Indiscipline in any way
and manner is a form of corruption of the human essence.

That was why we waged campaigns against
indiscipline, and its many manifestations in the 1980’s during my tenure as Head of State of our great Nation.

Sadly in this season, we find ourselves in a Nigeria where indiscipline has been taken to an unprecedented level.

The rule of law is grossly perverted, and corruption has been elevated to a way of life at all strata of the society.

In striving to reorder our country and put it on the path of recovery, we have thus identified the need to tackle corruption head-on.

In this regard, we have taken steps towards recovering a reasonable amount of the money
that was looted or misappropriated from public coffers.

Investigations are ongoing on public officers who served, or are still serving, and those whose conduct are questionable will be compelled to accept the path of honour and surrender their loots.

As I stated recently, a good number of people who abused their positions are voluntarily returning the illicit funds.

I have heard it said that we should disclose the names of the people, and the amount returned.

Yes, in due course, the Central Bank of Nigeria will make information available to the public on the surrendered funds, but I must remark that it is yet early days, and any disclosure now may jeopardize the possibility of bigger recoveries.

But we owe Nigerians adequate information, and it shall come in due course. It is part of the collective effort to change our land from the bastion of corruption it currently is, to a place of probity and transparency.

Quite frankly, the anti-corruption war is not strictly about me as a person, it is about building a country where our children, and the forthcoming generations, can live in peace and prosperity.

When you see dilapidated infrastructure round the country, it is often the consequence of corruption. Poor healthcare, collapsed education, lack of public utilities, decayed social services, are all products of corruption, as those entrusted with public resources put them in their private pockets.

That must stop, if we want a new Nigeria. And that was why I said at another forum that people need not fear me, but they must fear the consequences of their actions.

Corrupt acts will always be punished, and there will be no friend, no foe. We will strive to do what is fair and just at all times, but people who refuse to embrace probity should have every cause to fear.

Look at the corruption problem in the country, and tell me how you feel as a Nigerian. Our commonwealth is entrusted to leaders at different levels of governance, and instead of using the God given resources to better the lot
of the citizens, they divert them to private use.

They then amass wealth in billions and trillions of naira, and other major currencies of the world, ill gotten wealth which they cannot finish spending in several lifetimes over.

This is abuse of trust, pure and simple. When you hold public office, you do it in trust for the people.

When you, therefore, use it to serve self, you have betrayed the people who entrusted that office to you.

Again, how do you feel year after year, when
Transparency International (TI) releases its Corruption Perception Index, and Nigeria is cast in the role of a superstar on corruption?

In 2011, out of 183 countries, Nigeria was 143 on the corruption ladder. In 2012, we were 139th out of 176. In 2013, we ranked 144 out of 177,
and in 2014, we stood at 136th out of 174.

Hardly a record to inspire anyone. In fact, it is sad, depressing and distressing. Our country can be known for better things other than corruption.

In the process of trying to recover stolen funds now, we are seeking the cooperation of the countries were these loots were taken.

Time it was, when such nations may have overlooked our overtures for assistance to fight
corruption.

However, we now live in an era where corruption is anathema, looked upon as something that should be tackled head-on because the actions of the corrupt can have global impact.

It is to be noted that resolving the problem of corruption transcends merely arresting and trying people that have held public office.

This is because, to curtail corruption, we have to reorder the mindset of all. Empirical facts have shown that even those who are critics today are
most times not better than those they criticize.

When they are availed the same or similar opportunities, they act likewise. In other words, those who didn’t have the opportunity criticise and blow whistle but when they get into office; they become victims of the same thing they
criticize. Nigeria must grow beyond that point, and be populated by people with conviction, a new breed without greed, radically opposed to corruption.

This points to the fact that curtailing corruption might require a more broadened social engineering. It, indeed, requires conforming every mindset in the social order to the moral tenets in which propriety anchors as a way of
life.

That was why in the earlier dispensation, we saw corruption beyond the embezzlement of public funds. We knew that a morally upright personality, a disciplined person, will not embezzle people’s money or betray the confidence reposed in him after being elected or
appointed to manage any office.

We knew that due to the perversion of our mindsets, people would rather abandon pedestrian bridges and flyovers and run through the traffic in very busy highways.

We understood the economic and social worth
of every Nigerian and the need to preserve their lives; we tried to enforce compliance with commuters using the pedestrian bridges provided for their safety.

We even went as far as enforcing the discipline of queuing to board buses and not the chaos of scrambling with its attendant dangers.

The people saw where we were headed, and
cooperated with us. That effort of the past was under a military regime, a dictatorship as it is classified. Now we are under a democracy.

The democratic system has its benefit in the
rule of law and the fact that a man cannot be assumed guilty until it is so determined by the court of law.

With the rule of law and its advantages, the same could however pose as serious limitations to curtailing corruption when the legal system is not adequately reinforced.

The onus, therefore, is on those who run our
legal process to ensure that the corrupt does not go free through exploiting the weakness and lacuna in the system.

I agree with Anyiam-Osigwe that corruption is an attitude and it is about the wrong attitude.

The problem with tackling corruption is that when people have become used to a particular way of doing things, even if it is not the proper way, they find it difficult to change.

We all know that to lie is not good. But we have a sense of justification each time we tell lies. This sense of justification encourages us always to do the wrong thing.

It is in this context that the mindset becomes an issue. There is the need to bring back our minds to the pure state of the human identity.

While changing the mindset of the people is integral to dealing with the manifestation of corruption socially, it is also important to heal the wounds inflicted by the corruptive indulgence of specific people who have been
entrusted with public positions or funds.

Thus, it is the responsibility of government to investigate reported cases of corruption. In the process, suspected culprits could be arrested, detained or questioned.

All these efforts would eventually end up with prosecuting the case in court. A government that closes its eyes to brazen corruption loses its essence, the very reason of its existence.

Such a government is sheer flippancy, a waste
of time, moral and sociological absurdity.
In Nigeria, it needs be said that two problems stare us in the face.

First is that our laws need to be strengthened if
we must realistically contend with the miasma of corruption..

The second is that we must correct the gaps
in our legal system that are exploited to frustrate the process of justice.

A number of anti-corruption cases have been rendered inconclusive due to legal limitations.

Dealing with corruption, requires the collective will of every Nigerian. Without our collective will to resist corrupt acts as a people, it will be difficult to win the war.

We in the leadership will provide the right example. We will not pay mere lip service to corruption. We will eschew it in every aspect of our lives. However, we are but few, in a country of more than 170 million people.

We need the mass army of Nigerians to rise as one man, and stand for probity in both public and private lives. It is only then that we can be sure of dealing a mortal blow on corruption,
which will engender a better country.

Nigeria has been brought almost to her knees by decades of corruption and mismanagement of the public treasury.

We must come to a point when we all collectively say Enough! That is collective will, and that is what will bring us to a new state and status.

If this country will realize her potentials, and take her rightful place in the comity of nations, we must collectively repudiate corruption, and
fight it to a standstill.

It remains eternally true: if we don't kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.

ArmsGate: Okonjo-Iweala exonerates self, releases memo sent to Jonathan for approval (Attached)

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
In a bid to exonerate herself from the ongoing
controversy surrounding the illegal arms deal by former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, ex-Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has released a memo, which was sent to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, to seek approval for the requested funds.

Okonjo-Iweala has been facing public criticisms for working with Dasuki to divert the funds meant for the procurement of arms and ammunition for the armed forces.

Dasuki, has since been charged as the primary suspect in the arms deal fraud of about $2.1 billion and is currently cooling his heels in the security net.

Clearing the air on the burning issue, the former
Minister released on Friday, December 11, the memory dated January 20, in which she sought Jonathan's approval of $330 million and £5.5 million, requested by Dasuki’s office.

Zodiac Sign Astrology - Aquarius (Know Your Personality)

I arranged this to educate us about our Zodiac sings and their interpretations.

Today I will post about Aquarius, it covers January 20 to February 18.

Aquarius Astrology (January 20 - February 18)

Aquarius Strength Keywords:

  • Witty
  • Clever
  • Humanitarian
  • Inventive
  •  Original

Aquarius Weakness Keywords:

  • Stubborn
  • Unemotional
  • Sarcastic
  • Rebellious
  • Aloof

Aquarius and Independence:

Aquarius personality is very independent, any attempt to hold them down or restrict them will cause them, to flee.

They need to be free to be on their own. Independence is not just desired by Aquarius, it is essential to their well being.

Aquarius and Friendship:
Beneath the detached, unemotional exterior lies a kind hearted friend that will go out of their way to help another.

They love to make people laugh and cheer people up and it makes them feel good to make others feel good.

They do not expect anything in return for this could put a damper on their freedom, they live with no strings attached.

They are very unconventional and always full of excitement, an Aquarius friend always makes life fun.

They might offer you a spontaneous last minute camping trip with no supplies prepared, if you decide to go along, you will have a weekend
to remember forever!

Aquarius and Business:

Aquarius likes to do something useful with their lives, mixing that with their amazing way with people, they make excellent politicians and social workers/psychologists.

They are progressive thinkers and are great at forming new ideologies and theories, any type of research is very suited to Aquarius.

Aquarius one downfall in the business world is
the attention to detail, they like the grand ideas and massive plans and can make them happen, but the mundane day to day repetitive details causes them to procrastinate. Aquarius needs a secretary.

Aquarius and Temperament:

Aquarius tend to be rebels just for the sake of having their own way.

Their stubbornness sometimes causes their failure, they will continue to do something their way even though others have proved it is wrong, they are very smart people and know it is wrong but they will continue just because it is their way, they are very fixed in opinion and stubborn when confronted.

Despite their stubbornness and fixed opinion, they will never impose their ideas on others, they have respect for everybody's differences.

Aquarius Deep Inside:

Aquarius are in search of wisdom, they are very observant and they can gather their information objectively because emotions do not get in the way, they seem to be above emotions altogether and when they speak, they speak the truth.

Sometimes it may be shocking or painful because of their disregard for the feelings of others, but they intend no harm, they call it like they see it and do not emotions cloud their judgment, they are very detached from emotion.

It is not that Aquarius are unemotional, they just to not trust their emotions so they incorporate them into their ideas of who they are.

As a result, if someone does not agree with
their ideas, Aquarius sometimes takes it personally, not as much as other zodiac signs however as Aquarius is intellect driven and not emotionally driven. Sometimes they wonder if
there is something in life that they are missing because they do not feel like other people feel.

This does not necessarily prevent them from being involved in intimate relationships, they are capable of this but the person on the other end will always notice an air of detachment from Aquarius.

Aquarius wonders 'why?' so much that they can question their existence.

They wonder if what they are doing is useful,
they want other people to notice them and appreciate them, this is caused by underlying insecurities that wonder if other people accept them for who they are but these are never brought to the surface because to an Aquarius, it does not matter that much because they know that they are special.

Aquarius in a Nutshell:
Aquarius is the sign of visionaries, unconventionality and intellectual independence.

Aquarius are the people who deviate from the crowd and go their own way. They are always after intellectual stimulation, constantly discovering something new, forming new opinions and stubbornly traveling their way regardless of what other people think.

Aquarius are filled with paradoxes, they are interested in the opposite ends of the spectrum, they like to be alone yet are social butterflies, they like to experience both sides and see both opinions as they formulate new ideas with their forward thinking, active mind.

Aquarius have a 'live and let live' policy where everyone is free to be themselves, an Aquarius
never judges others because as human beings, we are all equal and entitled to our own opinions.

They are verbally skilled and very witty, they observe people and learn how to interact with others through observation.

They can be masters of manipulation justifying anything they do or think.
As a result, they can deal with any type of personality and adapt to any situation.

They welcome change because boredom is their enemy. Anything new is an opportunity to Aquarius.

Aquarius can act as an expert on any topic, they
are very good at inflating their own importance, they feel it is deserved because their eccentricity makes them unique.

Conventional people beware, Aquarius likes to shock and deviate from the norm, this is how they live.

Aquarius is known to pick at anyone they find weak or dull-minded. It is simply an easy target for verbal exercise for them, no harm is meant but it might be taken from the other person.

Deep inside, Aquarius would never intentionally hurt anyone, they have respect for every human, even thought this might not seem apparent to the more emotional types.

What it's Like to Date a Aquarius Woman:

The Aquarius woman is the ultimate independent woman. She is funny, smart, adventurous, never clingy or jealous, never demanding and not overly emotional.

She is unpredictable and craves excitement. Anything goes with this woman and any man that she chooses will have an amazing relationship.

Court her and woo her, she expects this ladylike treatment, she is old fashioned in that sense but be known that her mind is already made up and if she is not interested, she will never be interested.

The relationship will progress slowly because she does not get emotionally involved very easily and she is not one for showy displays
of romantic affection.

The man who is trying to win her heart has to treat her with respect and treat her as an equal.

Communication is key, this is how a relationship with an Aquarius woman evolves. Once she trusts you and you two grow closer, she is an amazing loyal and kind-hearted person.

She will always seem to be detached, she fears
losing her identity in a relationship so do not be surprised if even in a long term relationship she seems more like a friend then a romantic partner.

Do not press her emotionally or tie her down with demands and obligations because this will
cause her to run.

Never be jealous, this is a big red flag to her and she will leave right away, the Aquarius woman can never be tied down, she is free as a bird.

If you give her all she needs, she will be completely faithful so you should not worry when she is out on her own, give her space and
respect her privacy and all will be well.

Aquarius woman is for the man who loves a challenge and adventure.

What it's Like to Date a Aquarius Man:

This man is all about intellectual stimulation. You can be the prettiest girl in the world but if you do not stir his mind, he won't bother.

Communication is so important to this man.
Deep inside he longs for love but this causes him inner trouble because of his inability to understand emotion so an Aquarius man in love often stumbles on his own words, be patient with him and don't hold it against him because deep inside, he is having fun.

Beware that an Aquarius man can fall out of love as easily as falling in love. The woman has to be able to adapt to him, he will not change for anybody and demands respect and understanding for the way he is, no matter how eccentric his ideals are.

He needs stimulation and a partner to share life's adventures with, not just someone to sit on the couch and watch a movie all the time.

Do not press him emotionally or tie him down with demands and obligations because this will cause him to run.

Never be jealous, this is a big red flag to him and he will leave right away, the Aquarius man can never be tied down.

If you give him all he needs, he will be completely faithful so you should not worry when he is out on his own, give him space and
respect his privacy and all will be well. Aquarius man is for the woman who loves a challenge and adventure.

How to Attract Aquarius:

Communication is key. You must be able to stimulate their minds, engage in a friendly, witty verbal battle but do not expect to come to any conclusions, this is not the point.

They crave the brain exercise. If you unable to keep up with the intellect and the unconventional ways that Aquarius is known for, you might want to look elsewhere.

Aquarius needs communication compatibility more then anything else. Have variety in your dates, think of interesting things to do like a trip to the zoo, but if you can't think of any crazy idea, leave it up to Aquarius to make plans but do not be surprised if they change the plan in the middle, be flexible like them.

They do not like naggers or complainers so keep
the talk positive and all should be well.

Aquarius Erogenous Zone:

The calves and ankles are the most sensitive spots. Most Aquarius like their ankles tied together or at least held down.

They enjoy calf massages and light scratching with your fingernails on their ankles and legs.

S*x With Aquarius:

Aquarius have a very imaginative approach to sex, they like creativity and novelty, they are not fond of not passion and an emotional sex.

Sex to an Aquarius is a fun thing, expect to laugh and be silly, it's like a fun game between a couple.

Anything goes with Aquarius, they like spontaneous encounters and quickies.

PoliFocus Quote Of The Day

"Greatness is not s*xually transmitted"

I post to comment on the ways are manners so people throw themselves at wealthy people.

Before you call for my head, I'm not saying it is bad to date a rich or say wealthy person.

But some people believe that dating them automatically make them wealthy.

It is not s*xually transmitted, though they may be of help.

Greatness is built and it can be achieved through hardwork and prayer.

For the fact that your partner is wealthy is not a pointer to the fact that you will.

Use your head and stop allowing people to use you to satisfy their s*xual urges.

According to a Yoruba belief "Atelewo eni ni ko kin tan eni je"

Literally translated as it is only your hand that can't deceive you.

If you a "runs girl" or a "sugar boy", you should think twice after reading this.

Your "sugar mummy or Aristo" will only use u and dump you.

To ladies, protect and preserve yourself for your future husband.

I don't want to bore you with STDs, they are things that you know already.

Wake up from your illusion and get yourself a life and stop acting like a parasite.

Good morning.

I Delivered $47m In 11 Suitcases To Dasuki In His House – ONSA Ex-Finance Director

As the nation grapples with the unfolding events of the circumstances surrounding the $2bn Arms deal scandal, more shocking facts have come to light as to how the monies were moved from the national treasury in the apex bank and spent.

In his confessional statement, a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Mr. Shuaibu Salisu, said $47million was withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 11 suit cases which he suspected might have been given to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for election purposes.

He, however, said as a civil servant, he was innocent because he only carried out instructions from the ex-National Security Adviser, Mr. Mohammed Sambo Dasuki.

The Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Justice Ishaq Bello, yesterday ordered that Salisu be either arraigned in a competent court of law if there is any basis for so doing or be released on administrative bail on terms to be settled by the applicant.

It was also discovered that N10billion was withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly elections.

The payment of the N10billion was authenticated by former Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who has said she transferred $322 million from the Abacha loot to Dasuki, following instruction from Dr. Jonathan.

Salisu opened up in a Statement of Witness/Accused he wrote under oath in the presence of investigators of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The statement was attached to the charges preferred against Salisu and filed in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in preparation for his arraignment by the EFCC today before Justice H.Y. Baba and Justice P.O.
Affen.

Salisu, who said he did not benefit from all the slush funds from the CBN, said: “I could remember on the 20/11/2014 , I was directed by the NSA, M.S. Dasuki to go to the CBN and collect the sum of $47m in cash and the balance in Euro and the directive was obeyed and the monies were delivered to the NSA in about 11 suit cases.

“I acknowledged the receipt of the money from the CBN which was handed over to M.S. Dasuki. I think the monies were meant for PDP. After delivery, I left, I did not see or know when the money was distributed.

“I did not benefit even one cent. The request for the funds was tag(sic) Special Services signed by the NSA, M.S. Dasuki, addressed to the Governor of CBN.

“I did not know the source of the money into our CBN Account. The foreign currencies that I collected from the CBN were delivered to the NSA in his house, No. 13, John Kadiya Street, Asokoro.”

Here are some memos of some of the curious
withdrawals.
In a November 26, 2014 memo to the Central Bank Governor(NSA /366/S), the former NSA instructed as follows:

“Further to our discussion, you are pleased
requested to provide the sum of $47m cash out of the N10 billion and the balance in Euro to this office for special services.

“Mr. S.A Salisu, Director of Finance and Administration, is hereby authorised to sign and collect the amount.

Please accept, Your Excellency , the assurances of my highest esteem.

In another April 10, 2015 letter, BPSD/CRC/ GEN/
FMF/01/36 by the Banking and Payment System
Department, the CBN authenticated payment mandate of N10billion to the ONSA for preparation for gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.

The letter, signed by CBN Director, Banking and Payments System Department, reads: “In accordance with your letters, Ref. No.

HMF/FMF/082.F15276.7 and F.15276 respectively on the above subject, we forward herewith the following mandate for authentication.

Mandate Ref. FD/LP(9/4/2015)-N5,000,000,000 to National Security Adviser Account No. 0029172241019, CBN;

another N5,000,000,000 to National Security Adviser Account No. 1014199287, Zenith Bank, K-City Plaza, WUSE II Abuja.

“Purpose of payment: “Being amount released to the Office of National Security Adviser(ONSA) from the Signatory Bonus Account in preparation for the forthcoming Gubernatorial / State Assembly elections as approved by AGF.

“The Honourable Minister may wish to authenticate this mandate to enable the CBN remit the fund.”

In a short note to approve the request Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala simply said: “Authenticated” and signed.

There were indications last night that the EFCC may invite Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala “for clarifications”.

She has openly admitted that she released $322million to ex-NSA Dasuki from the Abacha loot recovered.

“ We have to find out from her whether or not due process was followed.

She also needs to tell the anti-graft agency
whether such a release was appropriated or not,” a source told The Nation, pleading not to be named because he is not authorised to speak on the matter.

Justice Ishaq Bello yesterday ordered that Salisu be either arraigned in a competent court of law if there is any basis for so doing or be released on administrative bail on terms to be settled by the applicant.

This followed an application for the enforcement of Salisu’s fundamental human rights by his counsel, A.U Mustapha.

Mustapha had sought for a declaration that the “ arrest and continuous detention of Salaisu by the EFCC from November 20, 2015 constitutes a gross volation of the applicant’s rights to personal liberty and freedom of movement respectively guaranteed under sections 35 and
41 of the 1999 Constitution.

“A declaration that the arrest and continuous detention of the applicant in custody without any charge since November 20 with a view to denying him freedom of movement as guaranteed by 1999 Constitution and article 10(1) of the African Charter on Human and
Peoples’ Rights( Ratification and enforcement) Act Cap A9 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria is accordingly unlawful, unconstitutional and illegal.

“An order directing the EFCC to release the applicant forthwith without any condition. An order as the Honourable Court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of the application.”

Must See: Photo Of The Wife Of New Ooni of Ife-Ife As She Was Being Fanned By A Policewoman In Uniform

Our police once again proved their 'servanthood'  to the wealthy to the public once again!

This is just a case of a police woman turning to 'Akoda' (Palace maid) because of money.

IGP Arase, earlier this year banned this kind of ignoble tasks for his men but this is a clear opposite of his position as to that.

It should be condemned by all, or what do you think???

BayelsaDecides: Asari Dokubo gives FG 7 days ultimatum to hands off rigging plot

The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, on Thursday gave the Federal Government one week ultimatum within it should hands off alleged plan to rig the governorship election in Bayelsa State and install the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Timipre Sylva, as winner.

The ex-militant in a statement issued in Yenagoa
accused the Federal Government and its agencies of collaborating with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the election.

He warned that except government steers clear of the alleged complicity, ex-militants would return to the creeks to resume agitation with consequences on strategic oil installations.

He stated that in furtherance of this, the ex-militants have regrouped under a new formation known as the Reformed Ex-Agitators of the Niger Delta which he claimed he is now leading to press for a democratic process in determining the outcome of the election.

“If by next week the Federal Government does not hands off from the Bayelsa polls by allowing the people to freely choose their leader but still interfering through the observed various guises and deception, then we would have no option than to return to the creeks to press for our rights as patriotic citizens being unduly oppressed and dehumanized all in the name of politics”, he stated.

Asari-Dokubo said the new group frowned at the role of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Southern Ijaw election saga, alleging that the military received direct instruction from President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the APC candidate, Timipre Sylva, was declared winner against the wish of the people.

He said, “We have said it before that President Buhari is executing an anti-Ijaw agenda and his aim is to steal our God-given resources to rebuild the north destroyed by Boko Haram.

That is why he is hell-bent on manipulating the electoral process in Bayelsa State and hand it over to the APC.

They are exploiting Sylva’s greed and desperation for power and therefore using him to carry out their evil agenda. But we want them to know that this country will go up in flames if they try it.

Boko Haram will be a child’s play if President Buhari and his APC think they can upturn the people’s mandate.

It would be a grave injustice which can never
stand. We are Ijaw people and we have never been conquered”.

Dokubo-Asari stressed that going by the results already declared by INEC, PDP’s candidate, governor Henry Seriake Dickson, had won 6 of the 7 local governments declared with a margin of 33,154 votes and has thus fulfilled constitutional requirement of 2/3 spread and popular votes but without Southern Ijaw as the only local government remaining.

He therefore called on the Federal Government to ensure the election is rescheduled and conducted in a transparent process just as he reiterated that his new organization would be watching to see if the government still interferes in the process till next week and would then launch “a full scale agitation to save our people from modern day slavery of intimidation, oppression and dictators.

Death Sentence: Rev. King To Know Fate Next Year February

Remember the pastor who allegedly flogs his church members?

He is the General Overseer, Christian Praying Assembly (CPA), Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Reverend King.

He is challenging the judgement of a Lagos High Court sentencing him to death by hanging. His challenge which has gotten as far as the Supreme Court was on Thursday, fixed for February 26, 2016.

The apex court presided over by Justice Walter Onoghen adjourned for judgment after entertaining arguments from counsel to prosecution and defence in the matter.

Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem, who appeared before the Supreme Court alongside the Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs Idowu Alakija and other Senior Counsel in the State, urged the court to dismiss the appeal and uphold the judgment of the lower courts.

Rev. King was arraigned on September 26, 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder.

He pleaded not guilty to the allegation but was
sentenced to death by the then Justice Joseph Oye whole of Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on January 11, 2007 for the murder of one of his church members, Ann Uzoh.

The Lagos State Government had said that the convict poured petrol on the deceased and five other persons and that Uzoh died on August 2, 2006; 11 days after the act was perpetrated on her.

Ezeugo was convicted and sentenced to 20 years
imprisonment for the attempted murder and death by hanging for the offence of murder.

He, however, challenged the verdict before the Court of Appeal in Lagos, but the appeal was thrown out, making him head for the Supreme Court.

GOODNEWS: Federal government to create ICT hubs across Nigeria

The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo SAN, has disclosed that one of the cardinal objectives of federal government’s “change agenda’’ was to create Information Communication Technology, ICT, hubs across the country.

This was as he stressed that the Muhammadu Buhari-led government would expand the scope of technology and incubate the start-ups of young people to advance ICT.

The Vice President stated this at the signing a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, on “ICT for Change Empowerment Programme’’ between the Federal Government and Huawei Technologies Co. Nig Ltd at the State House, Abuja.

Noting that “We are looking at developing existing hubs and to see how we can empower those who are already working in the various ICT hubs,’’ he explained that some of the ICT
organizations were already growing into a silicon valley in Yaba, Lagos, and many people are engaged in programming and developing applications.

Osinbajo, who noted that the development of ICT was an opportunity for people to get quick and decent jobs to enhance their lives and the economy, commended the group for the partnership with the government, and assured that the government would work with it to achieve success.

He revealed that the federal government was creating an opportunity to ease business for entrepreneurs, adding that the country must move up in the business index by opening
up the market.

He stressed that the present administration would encourage not only the selling of products but also their local manufacture so that the large population in the country could occupy the middle class.

The Vice President, who noted that it was an opportunity for China to improve on its technology transfer, being a strategic partner with the federal government and that the effort would lead to greater prosperity for both China and Nigeria, hailed the ladies who qualified to go to China for ICT training, saying that it was the objective of the administration to advance the girl-child education and women in business because of their large population.

“If you don’t engage women in business and education, we will be shooting ourselves in the feet as women have a very great role to play in nation building. “Chinese Ambassador has proved to us that he is not only an ambassador but a brother, because he has stuck to us very closely and has taken every opportunity to work with Nigerian government to achieve our objective,’’ he said..

He also commended Huawei technologies for the manner it was advancing technology development globally, remarking that knowledge was key ‘’and only the knowledge society will succeed’’.

The vice president said he was excited about
“certain attitude the young generation has about
technology’’, adding that it was time for young people to be trained to imbibe ICT and the entire technology field.

On his part, the Minister of Communications, Adedayo Shittu, said that the trainees would be evenly selected and urged Huawei group to increase the number of Nigerian trainers for the project to save cost of sending trainees to China.

This was as his counterpart in the Labour and
Employment ministry, Senator Chris Ngige said that the Chinese had blazed the trail in advancing technology in Nigeria.

Ngige described China as ‘’friends in prosperity and friends in poverty’’ as both countries were eager to lift the unemployed out of poverty. He said that the MOU would create jobs in line with government’s objectives and requested that the number of trainees be increased to accommodate more youth.

In his remarks, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaojie, said that based on existing cordial relations between China and Nigeria, his country would be part of the change agenda in Nigeria.

He said that his country was ready to develop the economic cooperation with Nigeria through 10 key cooperation plans, including industrialization, agriculture, infrastructure,
financial services, rail development and public health.
