controversy surrounding the illegal arms deal by former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, ex-Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has released a memo, which was sent to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, to seek approval for the requested funds.
Okonjo-Iweala has been facing public criticisms for working with Dasuki to divert the funds meant for the procurement of arms and ammunition for the armed forces.
Dasuki, has since been charged as the primary suspect in the arms deal fraud of about $2.1 billion and is currently cooling his heels in the security net.
Clearing the air on the burning issue, the former
Minister released on Friday, December 11, the memory dated January 20, in which she sought Jonathan's approval of $330 million and £5.5 million, requested by Dasuki’s office.
