PDP Cruises To Automatic Victory As INEC Excludes APC From Kogi Re-Run the Election (See Why)

The Independent National Electoral Commission kept to its promise as it conduct the Kogi east and central re-run election with the exclusion of the All progressive Congress and its candidates.

Accreditation commenced at 8.10 am in most of the polling units visited by our correspondent in Kogi central while information from east indicated that accreditation started at about 8.30am.

Accreditation and voting were going on symountanously amidst low turn out of voters, which some of the voters attributed to the non participation ofthe APC in the exercise.

It would be recalled that the court of appeal in Abuja had in December last year nullified the elections of two senators representing kogi west and central, a house of representatives seat and five house of assembly all of the APC.

The court also order a fresh election with the exclusion of the APC and its candidates.

Policeman slumps, dies during fitness exercise in Ekiti

REPORT has it that a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) attached to the Ado Odo
Divisional Headquarters, Mr. Bolade Agboola, slumped and died during a fitness exercise on Friday.

Agboola, who until his death was the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of the station, was said to have gone to a nearby Alamuwa Secondary School compound to join others in physical exercise when he collapsed and passed out.

He was reportedly rushed to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead by doctors.

The deceased, according to close sources, was said to have returned from his hometown in Ekiti State a few days ago after a brief illness.

He was said to have been advised by doctors to engage in fitness exercise.

“The incident happened at about 7:.50am yesterday when Agboola went to Alamuwa Secondary School to exercise his body.

He met a group of local footballers there and joined them in fitness training during which he suddenly slumped and could not be revived,” said a source who asked not to be named.

The body of the police officer has since been deposited in the mortuary in the state capital.

Olajumoke; A Struggling Lady That Turns Model Overnight (A Lesson To All)

Olajumoke-posing With Her-Bread
Olajumoke Posing Her Bread
When God is ataa work, all protocols are suspended.

The story of this lady, Olajumoke Orisaguna, is beyond the understanding of ordinary human being's analysis or making but divine arrangement.

While trying to analyse the sudden the transformation of this lady, I remember what the bible describes in Ex 33:19 ‘And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion”.

The lady in the picture below was a bread seller doing her normal business but was mistakenly shot by TY Bello after. According to TY Bello,” "She seemed a little confused , some people were asking her to walk past really quickly, others were asking her to stay, she was just in limbo.

I said 'is it ok to take your photograph?' And she nodded ok”. Ordinarily, anyone would have thought she was part of the picture. But NO, it was her turn to shine. She left home oblivious of the God’s plan ahead of her for the day. People saw the picture and mistook her for a model.

Eccl 9:11-12a “ I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come”.

Jumoke Orisaguna is a mother of two who used to walk the streets of Lagos selling bread. Originally a hairstylist from Osun State, she was struggling to make ends meet, and left her husband and two children in their home town to become a street vendor in the economic capital. Working from 2:30pm to 11:00pm selling bread, Jumoke would make less than N3, 900 each day --with a profit of around N200.

Her decision to relocate to Lagos without the kids was not an easy decision but God had decided to smile on her seeing her inwardly (1Sam 16:7).

When your heaven is open, you make some irrational decisions that you cannot explain. Was that the first time she was passing there? Why was she passing that route at that time? Why did TY Bello ask her if she wouldn’t mind taking the picture?

Within 3 weeks, she has been totally transformed.

•Now owns a 3-bedroom flat in Ikoyi free of charge

•Scholarship to go back to school and start from where she stopped

•Scholarship to attend Communication and English training

•Now face of Stanbicibtc (not fully confirmed but the picture below)

•Has feature on CNN even with her Ijesha accent

•Got endorsement from Payporte

•The 2 kids to be on scholarship till university age

•On an Indian newspaper front page yesterday

•Manicure and pedicure free of charge

God used Jumoke to prove His wonders to us that He can decide to change the story of your life at anytime only if we depend on you TRUTHFULLY.

My people, this is a valid preaching to us all. Never think that God has forsaken you. There is always a reason to keep the hope alive.

Stay positive and focused. Keep doing what you know how to do best.

Remember God hasn't and cannot  forsake you!!

See her after transformation:

Iheanacho Releases Bombshell, Says He Couldn't Afford N50 To Watch EPL Matches (Talks On Growing Up)

MANCHESTER City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, has opened up on his tough upbringing and how he used to beg to watch English Premier League matches at viewing centres in Nigeria.

Iheanacho burst onto the scene, as the star of the Nigerian squad that won the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

But he has spoken about the hardship he faced growing up and how his family could not afford a television set.

“We didn’t have the money,” he told the Daily Mail.

“Maybe after the game I’d hear the scores and all that. I’d be at home playing football and my friends would come back after being there to tell me.

We didn’t have a television at home.“Sometimes I watched the Spanish league – it was a bit cheaper, maybe N30.

But the Premier League was N50. Sometimes I’d watch the Premier League if I found the money, or I’d go there and beg them to let me in.

Or sneak in for the second half and pay half the money.”The 19-year-old also revealed how difficult things became after he lost his mother.

He said: “It was hard for us when my mother left us. We couldn’t do anything so I said to myself ‘move on and keep working hard.’

“She makes me work harder. When I’m not doing something right, or when I’m not playing or working hard enough, then I remember her.

She pushed me to work hard.“There are jobs (back home) but football has always been with me.

When I was growing up they didn’t want me to do it because my mother was a teacher- they wanted me to go to school.

But I love football and wanted to play – they wanted to stop me but couldn’t.

“They wouldn’t allow me to play outside after school but I went out anyway.

Maybe I lost a bit of focus on my studies.“It’s amazing when you go back home now, when you remember how you were before.

You go back home and all those people are calling your name, shouting. I get mobbed by the kids.

They want to see you, want to know you.”

Emir Lamido Sanusi
Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi
On February 20, 2014 Former President Goodluck Jonathan suspended the present Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) governor.

The primitive reason was not unconnected with his outburst on the missing $20 billion that was not remitted to the CBN’s purse then.

As a Nigerian, how best can you rate his predecessor, Emefiele as to the development being recorded and people friendly policies of his?

To me, I will score him less than 20%.

My reasons:

  • Sanusi cancelled ATM withdrawal charges, Emefiele re-introduce it (N65)
  • Forex policy creating conundrums presently
  • Unnecessary charges for ATM usage, maintenance and stamp duty.
  • Per second remittance of N1 on every transaction made with case over N1,000
  • Among others

Kogi Assembly Members Commence Impeachment Process Of The Deputy Governor After A Week In Office (See Why)

The fracas in Kogi State House of Assembly took a new twist as fourteen members of the Kogi State House of Assembly loyal to the embattled Speaker, Honourable Momoh Jomoh Lawal, on Friday, signed an impeachment notice against the state deputy governor, Mr Simeon Achuba.
Honourable Simon Achuba
Simon Achuba, Deputy Governor of Kogi State
Achuba is to respond within 14 days in line with Section 188 of 1999 Constitution as amended. On Friday, the 14 members, during a plenary presided over by Speaker Lawal in Abuja, resolved to serve the impeachment notice on the deputy governor for allegedly causing chaos among members of the assembly and the executive arm of government, only a week after being confirmed and sworn in.

The notice, entitled “Impeachable Offences Committed By His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Hon Simeon Achuba,” was signed by all the members that were present at the plenary in Abuja.

His sins are said to include “undue” interference in the affairs of the state House of Assembly thereby causingfriction between the executive and the legislative arms of government in the state.

It was also alleged in the notice that he was instigating members of the assembly to “forcefully and unlawfully” change the leadership of the House withoutrecourse to the rules of the  House.

According to the notice, “five members of the House to sit despite the proclamation by the Speaker of the Kogi State  House of Assembly adjourning to a later date.”

They insisted that the deputy governor was performing legislative function, that is swearing in  of the “purported Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly” in his office, contrary to the extant provisions of the House Rules and in “flagrant abuse” of the tenets of democracy and separation of powers as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution.

He was accused of generally causing disaffection by inciting certain sections of the state against each other, therefore, causing disharmony and security threat in the state.

Court sheriffs storm PSquare’s Squareville, seize properties

Psquare Okoye
People identified as court officials stormed the home of Nigerian Musicians, Peter and Paul ‘PSquare’ Okoye today to seize their properties in line with a High Court order.

The officials, who arrived the house in Omole, Lagos in the early in the morning, reportedly forced their way in, after security guards denied them entry on the basis that the duo was not around.

It was gathered that the case started about eight years ago when the brothers were invited to perform at a gig but could not perform because the event was postponed.

The organisers of the event reportedly appealed to the brothers to perform the next day, but they refused and left without refunding the sum of N1m paid to them by the organisers.

The orgainser eventually took them to court, but they didn’t really pay attention to the issue until Friday morning when agents of the court arrived with documents authorising them to confiscate the musicians’ properties.

Rivers merges Dolphins, Sharks to form Rivers Utd FC

The Rivers Government on Friday said that the state-owned football clubs, Dolphins and Sharks, have been disbanded and merged into one team called Rivers United FC.

The Commissioner for Sports, Mr Boma Iyaye, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the government agreed to adopt Rivers United FC as its team name.

Iyaye said the government took the decision based on the current economic challenges facing the state and the nation at large.

“The government believes that if its resources were properly harnessed and concentrated in sponsoring one team, the state would benefit more.

“Therefore, the two football teams owned and sponsored by the state are hereby disbanded and merged together to form one indefatigable football team,’’ he said.

Iyaye said the name was aimed at enhancing unity among Rivers people and fostering a united community identity with the football club.

He said the government would take necessary step to register the new team with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and the league Management Company (LMC) accordingly.

“All assets and liabilities of both Sharks FC and Dolphins FC have been taken over by the new club.

“It is a painful decision to be taken but we believe that the overall interest of Rivers football lovers and stakeholders will be better off,’’ Iyaye said.

The commissioner described the motto and mission of the new team as “United through Football’’ and “To be the foremost Football Club in Nigeria’’ respectively.

Rivers United which takes over Dolphins slot in the Nigerian Premier Football League will play against Enyimba International FC of Aba on Sunday in Port Harcourt as the 2015/2016 competition begins.

Shocking: Man, 20, rapes 14-yr-old orphan

An Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court, yesterday, remanded one Abdulsalam Olayinka, 20, in prison for allegedly raping a 14-year-old orphan on Valentine’s Day.

Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias ordered that the accused be remanded in Kirikiri Prison andadjourned the case till February 24 for ruling on the bail application.

The accused, a trader, who lives at 2, Amodu St., Agege, Lagos, is standing trial for rape.

The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the offence was committed on February 14 at 5, Olanrawaju St., Agege.

Aigbokhan told the court that the accused went to his friend’s house, but that the friend was not around; that he met the girl in the house and raped her.

Aigbokhan said: “The victim, who is an orphan, screamed but no one in the house came to her rescue, except her aged grandmother.”

The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

Kogi Assembly Police Crises: Seals Off Kogi House of Assembly Complex

The crisis rocking the Kogi State House of Assembly yesterday, turned a new twist, as the assembly complex was sealed off by the police.

The Speaker of the assembly allegedly impeached on Tuesday, Momohjimoh Lawal, had dismissed the purported impeachment as huge joke and said 15 legislators including himout of the 20 members house, would resume sitting yesterday.

Kogi-AssemblyThough they could not sit, Vanguard was unable to confirm, whether the police seal-off prevented their sitting.

In a replica of the 2012 assembly crisis, stern looking policemen, who claimed they were acting on ‘order from above’, chased out the workers and sealed off the premises.

They also padlocked the front gate of the Assembly complex located along Hassan Katsina road .Commissioner of Police, Besan Gwana, said the seal-off became necessary following information that some persons were coming to the Assembly complex to foment trouble.

The embattled Speaker had on Wednesday  ledother 14 members to Abuja to lodge a petition with the House of Representative over the crisis.Lawal had also accused the governor, Yahaya Bello of withdrawing his security attaché,  thereby exposing him and other members to danger of possible attacks.

However, the Special Adviser on Media to the embattled Speaker, Felix Udebu, disclosed thatsome of the security personnel withdrawn on Tuesday were returned to the Speaker’s residence on Wednesday night.

Vanguard gathered that those security operative were returned to Lawal’s residence on order of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.

Governor Yahaya Bello has however, distanced himself from the assembly crisis, noting he never interfered in the affairs of the legislature in line with his determination to promote the rule of law and strict adherence toseparations of power.

Ekiti APC leaders are Diaspora politicians - PDP

PDP logo
Ekiti state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described  the meeting in Abuja, by some leaders of the All Progressive Congress  (APC) leaders in the State as a further confirmation that those leading the party in Ekiti State are Diaspora Politicians, who have lost touch with the people.

The PDP, which noted that serious politicians desirous of winning elections will not hold its stakeholders meetings more than 300km away from their State, added that no amount of Abuja meetings will bring APC in Ekiti State back from the land of the dead.

The State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Jackson Adebayo said in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Thursday that "Governor Ayodele Fayose will for a very long time remained the nightmare of the APC and its self-centered leaders."

"From the time Governor Fayose joined Ekiti politics till now, the only governorship election won by the APC was the one in which Fayose assisted the party," he said.

Adebayo said; "Ekiti people will no longer succumb to the selfish wish of diaspora politicians, who will only come to the State to contest elections and runaway the moment they lose or are thrown out of government.

"These APC politicians-in-diaspora left the nucleus of the party while pursuing wild dream of securing appointments in Abuja.  Whereas, Ekiti has never gotten more than 15 federal appointments since creation. So why are they in hundreds lobbying for unavailable jobs in Abuja?

"Can any serious politician be playing away game and leaving the grassroot in the hand of opponents? Isn't that the reason Fayose who eats and dine with the people will always defeat the APC as long as the space permits?

The PDP also described the statement credited to fomer governor of the State, Chief Niyi Adebayo that Ekiti state had been turned to a pariah state as a product of a frustrated mind, said any reasonable Ekiti man would attest to the fact that the peace being enjoyed in the state could not be matched by any other state in the southwest.

"There is no state in the southwest that has been enjoying the kind of relative peace and development being enjoyed in Ekiti State today and discerning minds can't but laugh at a former governor refering to his own a state as a pariah state," he said.

Police Confirm The Arrest Of A Man That Beheads His Niece In Ondo (Graphic Photo)

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Ondo State Command confirmed the arrest of a 42-year-old man identified as Omosaba Samuel, who beheaded his 3-year-old niece in Ikare Akoko for a ritual.

The beheaded niece was identified as, Sola Adunbarin, on Wednesday evening by the Spokesman of the Ondo State command, Femi Joseph Femi, who confirmed the arrest of Mr. Samuel to SaharaReporters in a telephone interview.

During the interview, Mr. Joseph informed SaharaReporters that the suspect killed the niece as part of a money ritual.

The suspect, according to a confession statement he provided to police, was motivated to kill the young child due to his futile job search.

“He [Mr. Samuel] contacted a traditional doctor [herbalist] in Akoko regarding a money ritual and he was asked to bring the fresh head of a little girl and the sum of N10, 000,” Mr. Joseph told SaharaReporters.

Other sources told SaharaReporters that the murder occurred after the mother of the girl, identified as Mrs. Bunmi, left her daughter with her mother-in-law at a nearby building before proceeding to the market for her daily trading.

The mother-in-law allegedly left the young girl in the care of Mr. Samuel.

“The little girl was placed with Mr. Samuel because the mother-in-law was elsewhere. A few minutes later, he murdered the girl and cut off her head with the intention of taking it to the herbalist for the ritual.

“A resident caught Mr. Samuel as he was placing the head inside a polythene bag, and immediately raised an alarm. Mr. Samuel was subsequently taken into the custody of security agents,” according to an anonymous source speaking to SaharaReporters.

Community leaders told Saharareporters that the security agents save the murderer after he had confessed to the crime from being lynched by youths who were angered by the unfortunate incident.

The Divisional Police Officer [DPO] in Ikare Akoko, Musiliu Sogbade, informed SaharaReporters that detectives are currently searching for the traditional doctor who remains at large.

Ooni Of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Becomes The Youngest Chancellor In Nigeria

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi
Ooni of Ife-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has emerged as the youngest chancellor in Nigeria with the appointment of the monarch as the chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka by President Mohammadu Buhari .

In a statement issued by Yera Moses Olafare, the director of media, Ooni's palace, copies of which were obtained by newsmen in Ibadan yesterday, President Mohammadu Buhari was commended for recognising Ooni's efforts to promote unity among Nigerians.

The statement said " Ile Oodua is thankful to the people's President Mohammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the appointment of Ooni, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, as the chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN" , saying the development would further enable the monarch to build more bridges of friendship especially across the Niger.

The statement further noted that Oba Ogunwusi was ready to bring to bear, his influence and connections to promote unity and harmonious working relationships in the university.

The palace also admonished Nigerians to promote only issues that can foster unity to ensure speedy development rather than playing up their differences.

"His appointment as chancellor, University Of Nigeria, Nsuka is considered as a positive sign that can further enhance peaceful coexistence of our dear nation as it was clearly stated in the letter of appointment written and signed by Honorable Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu on behalf of Mr President that Kabiyesi' appointment is based on his wealth of experience and his capacity to manage men and resources which he has demonstrated in the administration of his Kingdom in the last three months".

Ali Sheriff As PDP Chair; A Legendary Blunder

PDP-Chair Ali Sheriff
Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, PDP Chair
It is no longer news that the largest opposition party in Africa, People's Democratic Party (PDP) has formally announced Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as it its chairman.

This development was made known on 16th of February, 2016 and was subsequently sworn-in same day.

This announcement has been generating a lot of controversies among the political climes.

No doubt, his antecedent and alleged link to the emergence of the dreaded Islamic sect, known as Boko Haram can't but be said to be a factor to this ugly development.

Sherrif who was a two term governor of Borno State and one time Senator. He was in office as governor between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2003.

It is worth of note to state that he was the first governor to serve two terms in Borno State.

He was elected under the platform of All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) but letter join All Progressives Congress (APC) as a founding member.

In 2014, Sheriff defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). During his tenure as the governor, many documents were allegedly linked to him as regard the sponsorship of boko haram.

A toddler in Nigeria will be ready to stone any person or group of persons that has something to do with the Boko Haram due to the damages that the have done to the North-East and country at large.

Wanton destructions of lives and properties are being recorded by the day!!

PDP should have gone for someone with no questionable character at this time when the party is still wallowing in the pool of serial electoral defeat.

Following the tsunamic and historic humiliation suffered at the 2015 general elections.

To me, the leader that the party needs now is someone that can give it a face-lift and give it a required rebrand needed, so that the party will not die a natural death.

Though the incursion of the former aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Gulak cannot but be a hidden factor for this shallow cum rash decision to find a replacement for Secondus that was sacked by the court.

But the party should have taken its time by not adding salt to injury. As it is now, over 20 Senators and 70 House of Representatives members are threatening to leave the party due to this new development.

It is never too late to make amendments, so that the party can recover from the electoral shock by doing the needful.

The question now is:
Can Ali Modu Sheriff win your heart to vote for dying PDP??? To majority of Nigerians, the answer might be hell NO!

Although the decision of National Working Committee (NWC) to select him has been faulted in many quarters, the onus now lies on him (Sherrif) to prove his critics wrong.

If the new chairman is unable to salvage this ugly situation, I see the party breaking up, sooner than expected!

Nepotism??? Liberian president appoints son head of central bank

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf
President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf
Liberia’s central bank confirmed Thursday it has appointed the son of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as interim governor despite his previous suspension from the institution for failing to properly declare his assets.

Charles Sirleaf was deputy governor ofthe bank until his promotion to interim governor on Wednesday, but in 2012 was temporarily suspended on his mother’s orders for breaching declaration rules.

The bank confirmed the appointment to AFP on Thursday but would not comment further.

It was unclear how long he was expected to remain in the interim governor post or when a permanent replacement would be named.

His appointment has raised fresh allegations of nepotism against Sirleaf following the short-lived appointment of another son, Robert Sirleaf, to the National Oil Company of Liberia.

Robert Sirleaf was forced to resign in 2013 after attracting heavy criticism, and went on unsuccessfully contest a Senate seat in 2014.

The outgoing governor of the central Bank of Liberia, Mill Jones, resigned his post two weeks ago to enable him to stand for the presidential elections due to take place in 2017.

Jefferson Knight, head of human rightsmonitoring at the influential United Methodist church in Liberia, told AFP he believed Charles Sirleaf was appointed primarily due to his name.

“There are so many Liberians who are qualified for that post, why it is only he who will be elected?

This is nepotism,” he said.

“I am sure the president is testing the water and I hope she will do the right thing by appointing another person.

Though we don’t know for how long herson will remain as interim head, this is not smelling good,” Knight added.

“Liberians spoke against it until Robert resigned.

That will also be the case with Charles Sirleaf’s appointment.”Ordinary Liberians were also quick to express their anger Thursday.

“This is the same nepotism Leymah Gbowee was referring to when she resigned her post from the government,” said Patrick Tokpah, an educator.

Gbowee, a Nobel Laureate like Sirleaf, resigned as head of Liberia’s reconciliation commission in 2012 accusing President Sirleaf of failing to fight graft.

In a 2013 Transparency International survey, 96 percent of respondents said they felt that Liberia’s lawmakers were corrupt or extremely corrupt, and 77 percent reported paying a police bribe in the last year.

#Psquare Twitter Rant Update: Paul Says 'I Stay With Jude'

Pa‎ul Okoye of the PSquare duo has finally taken a stand in the ongoing saga that began Tuesday morning on Twitter, with his twin brother, attacking their older brother, manager and producer, Jude Okoye, on the social media, saying he was tired of his involvement in the family business.

The singer who has been silent all day since the news broke has finally spoken up and taken a stand with Jude on the matter.

Paul shared a photo collage of a throwback photo, which once showed Peter and Paul flanking a seated Jude on both sides, now with Peter replaced by a photo of  their studio in the collage.

He shared the photo via instagram, commenting:

"This is where I belong and this is where I stand.......you do music in the studio, not on social media, you have family issues, you discuss that in close doors, not on social media ..... Family is family, blood is blood .... If you don't do family business, then who am I to you?"

Peter had earlier taken to Twitter, not only demanding to have Jude kicked of their management team, but warning the general public about doing any PSquare related business with him.

The brother's had traded barbs back and forth via Twitter without any response from Paul who seems to be the most reserved of the bunch.

Most people had taken Paul's silence as either indifference or indecision, but that has been clarified with his stand.

We can only wonder where this leaves the P Square dynasty and all they have built over the years.

PoliFocus Quote Of The Day, 18th of February, 2016

"Little drops of water makes an ocean"

This may sound crazy to you but it is not untrue. Every bit of one's effort is what will culminate into a laudable project or programme.

Never despise an humble beginning, it is a known fact that most great men are not born great but developed great cum "I CAN DO IT" spirit along the line.

You level of education may not determine your altitude in life but the zeal in you to excel.

It is however worthy of note to say that it is never too late to start up something.

Most if us get it wrong by believing that "money" or say capital is number thing to get before starting anything tangible but lo and behold, it is not but what is of paramount important is the zeal and believe that the idea is achievable.

If this stage is passed, then the project is over 50 percent completed. Even someone that may take the risk of giving you a startup capital will like to see what you can do.

You have to prove to him/er that you have the ability not only to achieve the project but to pay back at stipulated time.

Also, I will like to advice against starting up a project with bank loans because at the end of the day, you will discover that you are working for the bank indirectly.

Allow me to be practical now, if you borrow N500,000 from a bank with around 20% interest.

This means that you will pay around N90,000 as interest.

Let's look at it together, how much do you think you can gain within six months that will make you pay the interest with alacrity??!

So try and start up with the little in your hand, with time it will grow.

Every business needs investment, it may not be necessarily money but time and commitment.

Believe, pursue and actualise your lofty project today! Get along with dream helpers.

Have a nice day.

God Will Answer

He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. – Ps 145:19
His own Spirit has wrought this desire in us, and therefore He will answer it. It is His own life within which prompts the cry, and therefore He will hear it. Those who fear Him are men under the holiest influence, and, therefore, their desire is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Like Daniel, they are men of desires, and the Lord will cause them to realize their aspirations.
Holy desires are grace in the blade, and the heavenly Husbandman will cultivate them till they come to the full corn in the ear. God-fearing men desire to be holy, to be useful, to be a blessing to others, and so to honor their Lord. They desire supplies for their need, help under burdens, guidance in perplexity, deliverance in distress; and sometimes this desire is so strong and their case so pressing that they cry out in agony like little children in pain, and then the Lord works most comprehensively and does all that is needful according to this Word — “and will save them.”
Yes, if we fear God, we have nothing else to fear; if we cry to the Lord, our salvation is certain.
Let the reader lay this text on his tongue and keep it in his mouth all the day, and it will be to him as “a wafer made with honey.”

Lionel Messi Breaks Another Record As He Becomes The First Player To Net 300 La Liga Goals

Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi became the first player to reach 300 La Liga goals as he scored twice in Barcelona's victory over Sporting Gijon.

Barca are six points clear at the top thanks to a 31st game without defeat - extending their Spanish record.

Messi opened the scoring from just outside the box for goal number 300 but Carlos Castro levelled moments later.

Messi added his second from a pass by Luis Suarez, who then had a penalty saved before curling home a third goal.

On Sunday, Messi rolled a penalty into Suarez's path for the Uruguayan to complete his hat-trick in a6-1 win over Celta Vigo.

But Suarez did not return the favour in Gijon, and keeper Ivan Cuellar guessed the right way to keep out his penalty kick.Barcelona have now failed to score seven of their 15 directly taken penalties this season.

La Liga strugglers Sporting named a weakened team - instead prioritising Saturday's trip to Real Betis - with loan signing Alen Halilovic starting against his parent club.

Congrats!!

MTN obeys court order, pays N1.85m to subscriber over promo fraud

MTN Nigeria logo
Following an order issued last week by the Consumer Protection Council directing MTN Nigeria Communications Limited to, within 14 days, pay a complainant, Mr. Omeje Fidelis N1.85m being the balance of his winning in the promotion held in 2012, the telecommunication giant has effected the payment to the aggrieved consumer.

The CPC said in a statement issued on Wednesday that MTN, in compliance with the order, raised a United Bank of Africa’s draft in the said sum in favour of the complainant on February 11, 2016.

The statement stated that Fidelis, in a telephone conversation, confirmed to the CPC his receipt of the amount, disclosing that he received the cheque for the balance of his N2m prize on Monday, February 15, 2016.

It said, “CPC is also in receipt of a settlement agreement made to that effect between Omeje, MTN and its event manager for the Ultimate Wonder Promo prize presentation, Towncriers Limited, authorising the event manager to issue a bank draft in the sum of N1.85m in full and final satisfaction of the CPC’s Order and all claims to the complainant.”

Reacting to the development, CPC’s Director General, Mrs. Dupe Atoki, while welcoming the prompt compliance by MTN, said this underscores the supremacy of the consumer in the market-place.

She urged businesses to exhibit best practices that will engender value for money for consumers. The CPC had last week Wednesday directed MTNCommunications Limited to pay within 14 days the sum of N1.85m to one of the winners of its Ultimate Wonder Promo for lack of due diligence.

Fidelis had claimed that he had been underpaid after he was declared winner of N2m in the said sales promotion, which was held in 2012.

According to him, he participated in the promo and was called through MTN line 180 on October 10, 2012 that he had won N2m in the Ultimate Wonder Promo and that on October 12 of the same year he got a text message informing him of the presentation ceremony fixed for October 19 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

The complainant had claimed that during the saidceremony, he was presented with a dummy cheque of N2m with his name on it, interviewed and paraded before the media and the world as a winner of the said amount.

He recounted further that he was stunned to receive another call from MTN line 180 on November 2, 2012 that his winning was N150,000and was thereafter given a Verve ATM card for that amount.

MTN, in its response to the Council’s intervention, denied the claim of Omeje, saying that he was from the on-set informed that his winning was N150,000 and that the complainant deceitfully presented himself when winners in the N2m category were called forward on the day of the prize presentation.

The company had stated further that Omeje’s antics was discovered at the verification of winners, which was done after the ceremony and he was thereafter contacted through its 180 line on his misrepresentation pursuant to which he apologised.

As a result of the development, the CPC in a statement said it demanded for the call data of the communications of the 10th of October 2012 when Omeje was informed of his winnings of N150,000, but MTN failed.

The statement signed by the CPC Spokesman, Mr Abiodun Obimuyiwa revealed that the company refused and neglected to comply with the request made both in 2012 and 2016.

It said, “The CPC, in its Orders, frowned at the consistent refusal of MTN to provide the call datarecords evidencing details of communication withthe complainant, declaring that in the absence of this material evidence which is solely in the possession of the respondent the CPC must resolve the issue in favour of the complainant.”

“The process of the MTN Ultimate Wonder Promotion whereby the verification exercise was conducted after winners were identified, declared and winnings presented publicly is grossly flawed, lacking in transparency, inequitable and apparently calculated to deceive consumers.”

“The CPC, on the strength of these observations, therefore directed MTN to pay within 14 days of receipt of Order, the sum of N1,850,000 being the unpaid part of the N2m prize won by the complainant in the 2012 MTN Ultimate Wonder Promotion”.

#Ikere Mayhem: Nobody can take Ikere from me – Olukere insists

Oba Ganiyu Obasoyin, Olukere of Ikere-Ekit
Oba Ganiyu Obasoyin, Olukere of Ikere-Ekiti
Barely a week after a riot erupted in Ikere Ekiti over the destruction of a billboard bearing his portrait, the Olukere, Oba Ganiyu Obasoyin, has declared that nobody can take his domain from him.He said his stool was the first in Ikere and cannot be obliterated by anyone, no matter how highly placed.

According to him, he is the owner of the land and “a tenant cannot chase away the landlord from his property.”

It will be recalled that hell was let loose last week Wednesday when some youths of the community accused Governor Ayo Fayose and his security aides of destroying the Olukere’s billboard installed in Odo Oja area of the town to mark last year’s Olosunta Festival.

But reacting to the development, Obasoyin on Wednesday while addressing his subjects at the celebration of this year’s Osooro Festival to mark the beginning of the new planting season in the community said: “I want to assure you, my subjects that nobody can take my land from me.

We won’t allow outsiders to foment trouble here but we are for peace and we will work towards peace but the Olukere owns the land.

“I am your symbol here and I am the face of the Ikere royalty; this is our home, this is my home.

Nobody can take my father’s house from me because Olukere is theowner of Ikere land.”

The Olukere used the occasion to offer royal blessings for Ikere farmers, peaceful coexistence of indigenes of the town, Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.

Chiefs, women and representatives of different age groups accompanied the Olukere to the farm to perform his first major traditional assignment for the new planting season.

There were four heaps in which yams were planted at the farm.

They represented the three sections of the town-Okekere, Odo Oja and Uro while the fourth heap was for the the Olukere.

Speaking on the significance of the Osooro, Obasoyin said: “This is the beginning of our planting season because we are farmers and my father, Oloje launched us into farming and that is what we have been doing.

“This is not about ritual or religion but a tradition that isas old as Ikere kingdom,” he said.

Osooro festival is usually performed with the contributions of yam tubers by indigenes from across the sections of the town.

Traditional songs and gongs rented the air as the Olukere family members and chiefs danced from the farm through the town to the palace.
