The 47-year-old mother was arrested after detectives received a tip about the online ad, Forsyth County sheriff's Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez said in a statement on Monday.
He said the post suggested that mothers could leave any unwanted newborns in a "baby box".
The woman reportedly told police her daughter wanted a baby so she decided to help.
The teen is facing juvenile charges related to the online ad, authorities said.
The woman's name is being withheld to protect the identity of her daughter.
