He has so far won 276 votes from the complex US Electoral College system. Hillary has 218. Trump needed 270 votes to win.
The remaining votes are still being counted.
Trump is due to speak to Americans soon.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton called him to congratulate him on his victory.
With this, Donald Trump is the 45th president of America.
