Afaraukwu Invasion: “Call Your Army To Order Before Innocent People Are Killed “- Fani-Kayode Tells Buhari |PoliFocus

Former Minister of Aviation, and Spokesperson for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation during the 2015 general election, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the invasion of the Afaraukwu country homeof the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian Army on Tuesday, September 12.



Fani-Kayode who reacted to the incident on in series of tweets on micro blogging site, Twitter, called on Nigerian leader, President Muhammadu Buhari to call the soldiers to order.

The former Minister said this was necessary in order to afford the death of innocent people during this period.

Recall that the incident is coming barely two days after the clash between IPOB members and the Nigerian Army.

The attack in its wake left three (3) people injured, with the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu saying the Nigeria Army is instigating IPOB members to pick up arms.

On Tuesday, the Nigerian Army returned toKanu’s Afaraukwu country home with about 10 Armoured Carrier Vehicles and seven Hilux vans, with the development forcing shop owners in the area to close immediately.

Fani-Kayode who said he spoke to NnamdiKanu, his attorney and his sister, described the incident as ” unbelievable and unacceptable”.

He wrote on Twitter: “I just spoke to Nnamdi Kanu, his lawyer and his sister. What is going on right now is unbelievable and unacceptable.

“His entire community has been terrorised and traumatised for the 2nd day running by soldiers who are firing shots into the buildings and in the air.

“I call on @MBuhari to call his army to order before innocent people are killed. Soldiers are meant to protect our citizens and not attack them!” Fani-Kayode tweeted.
