Ekiti Assembly Holds Special Session At The Tail End Of The Flyover, Eulogises Fayose's Giant Strides |PoliFocus

The Ekiti State House of Assembly led by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kola Oluwawole on Monday held a Special Open Door session at Ojumose end of the 1.3KM Flyover in honour of governor Ayodele Fayose for his giant strides in infrastructural transformation of the state.

The leader of business, Hon. Tunji Akinyele while setting agenda for the special session described the Fayose administration as a purposeful government that has changed the look of Ekiti, he appreciated governor Fayose for not only modernising the state capital but extending his good works to the 16 local government areas of the state.

Akinyele lauded the governor for the feat recorded in education adding that the emergence of Ekiti State as one of the most peaceful in Nigeria can not be overemphasised. He stressed that Ekiti State House of Assembly remains a united house with absolute confidence in the leadership of speaker Kola Oluwawole and other principal officers of the house.

Hon. Ekundayo Adeleye in his contribution eulogised the governor for his administration's achievements, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission to be unbiased. He charged the police to be professional in handling security of lives and properties even as they refused to allow themselves to be used for dirty job.

House Committee Chairman on Information, Dr. Samuel Omotoso(Oye Constituency 1) who described Mr. Fayose as singularly most discussed politician in Nigeria commended the governor for doing so much with very meagre resources giving kudos to the EKHA for giving the governor an enabling environment.

On the threat by former governor Kayode Fayemi to snatch power from Ekiti people via federal might, Omotoso said Fayemi will fail because he has a poor case. "Fayemi is not popular, he has only been able to win just 1 ward out of 6 in his constituency, in the medical world, he could be described as someone with poor prognosis, a patient with poor prognosis can't be helped, Fayemi’s case is so bad that he can't be helped", he said.

While reiterating confidence of the assembly in Prof. Kolapo Olusola and Hon. Deji Ogunsakin's candidacy, Omotoso called on the international community as well as the civil society organizations to beam their searchlight on the July 2018 election so as the PDP coasts home to victory, grammarians won't come up with words such as photocromism in an attempt to downplay the people's victory.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Kola Oluwawole said the has was elated at the outstanding performance of Ayodele Fayose, hence the reason for holding the special session at the tail end of the bridge. Berating Fayemi, Oluwawole said political abracadabra through Justice Ayo Salami brought Fayemi to power in 2014 adding that Fayemi has never won any election in Ekiti.

Oluwawole said Fayose has demonstrated his zeal for revolutionized Ekiti. He called on the people of Ekiti to pay Fayose back by voting Eleka and Ogunsakin in the coming election.

Another member of the House, Chief Mrs. Cecilia Dada called on President Buhari not to thwart democracy in Nigeria by rigging the Ekiti election.

At the end of the special session, a communique read by leader of business in the House, Hon. Tunji Akinyele commended the executive governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose and his government for the giant strides in the infrastructural development of Ekiti State.

The Assembly identified with the candidature of Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka and urge the good people of Ekiti state to vote enmass for continuity agenda of Gov. Peter Ayodele Fayose.

The house passed a vote of confidence on the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Ekiti, Hon Kola Oluwawole and the leadership of the house.

The communique also called on the federal government to steer clear of the forthcoming gubernatorial election adding that INEC should allow vote of the people count. It also read that the security agency should not be bias but provide adequate security before, during and after the election.
