OAP Erin Andrews breaks down in court talking of man who posted nude videos of her online

Erin Andrews
TV host and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews broke down in court as she told jurors of her devastation after a man secretly recorded nude videos of her and posted them on the internet.

Ms Andrews sobbed in the witness stand on Monday as she recalled media speculation that she was doing it to attract attention to herself before the FBI made anarrest.

She said: "Probably for three months, everybody thought it was a publicity stunt. That ripped me apart."

She told the court she was terrified that the videos would go viral and she would never be able to get them off the internet after a friend told her about them in 2009.

"I just kept saying 'we gotta get it down. We gotta get it down'. And we can't get it down! And we're never going to get it off.

"I wanted to be the girl next door who lovedsports, and now I'm the girl with a hotel scandal."Ms Andrews Paul also testified, saying her daughter used to be easy-going and loved to talk to people at sports games before the stalking.

She said: "And now, unless there's somebody to protect her, she does not interact. She's very, very frightened."Ms Andrews is suing her stalker and the owner and operator of the Marriott and Vanderbilt for $75m.

Jurors heard from the stalker during recorded depositions played in court on Monday.

In the videos, Michael David Barrett testified he recorded the videos so he could make money.

Barrett said he picked Andrews because she was popular and he saw she was trending on Yahoo.

He posted the footage online after celebrity website TMZ refused to buy it.Barrett spent more than two-and-a-half years in federal prison after admitting to renting hotel rooms next to Ms Andrews on three occasions and recording nude videos of her in Nashville and Columbus, Ohio, and posting them online.

He said he was able to get the videos by manipulating the hotel door peephole in such a way that it could be pulled out and a mobile phone used to record her.

Barrett, who was an executive with a Chicago-area insurance company when herecorded the footage in 2008, admitted he also filmed around 10 other women in hotels and posted the nude videos online.

Jurors will decide if the hotel companies were negligent. They have maintained that it was solely Barrett to blame.

Conflicting testimony has been given about how Barrett was placed in a room next to Ms Andrews.
