The killer, who cannot be named because of his age, has a history of violence and is thought to have targeted his victim over an Instagram feud.
He denied he was the figure in black caught on CCTV near Capital City Academy, Willesden, North West London.
But he was convicted of murder at the Old Bailey after jurors heard Quamari named him just before he died in hospital.
Following the attack, Quamari was taken to hospital and at first it was thought his injuries were not life threatening.
Nurse Alice Burke revealed to the court that at first the schoolboy did not want to talk about the stabbing.
She said: ‘I asked him again because with teenagers you have to dig deep.
‘I said come on Quamari, what’s happened today?’
