Antonio Rudiger In London For Medical Ahead Of Chelsea Move |PoliFocus

Germany international Antonio Rudiger is reportedly in London to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Chelsea.

Rudiger, 24, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer with Antonio Conte keen to bolster his ranks ahead of next season.

The Italian is looking to find a long-term replacement for John Terry, who joined Aston Villa Monday and Rudiger is being viewed as his successor.

Chelsea and Roma have already reached an agreementover a £34m fee, which has been split into an initial £29m plus £5m in add-ons.

He will apparently sign a five-year contract worth £3.5m-a-season, which will see him earn £77,000-a-week.But Sky Italia have offered a fresh update on Rudiger’s situation with the Germany international supposedly in London ready for his medical.

It is said he will undergo the relevant checks and fitness tests today before officially becoming a Chelsea player, reports Daily Express.

Rudiger featured in Germany’s Confederations Cup win over Chile on Sunday and was asked about his future after the match.

“It’s not about the future now…it’s now about enjoyment,” he said.

“I need to enjoy this moment, and I’m enjoying it to the fullest. The rest we will see in the coming weeks.”

Conte is also looking to wrap up deals for Juventus defender Alex Sandro and Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko before their pre-season tour later this month.

Chelsea have so far only completed the transfer of Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

Rudiger is contracted to Roma until the summer of 2020.
