LAUGHABLE: Senators Insist On Screening Buhari For Oil Ministerial Post.

Senators insist on screening Buhari for oil
ministerial post

Some senators have insisted on screening President Muhammadu Buhari if he must become the oil minister, reports Vanguard.

The senators noted that Buhari must, in line with the constitution, submit himself before the Senate for screening if he wants to  appoint himself Minister of Petroleum.

The senators, who are mainly from the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), stated that they would stick to the rules concerning the appointment of ministers, noting that one of the conditions is that anybody nominated as a minister must be subjected to screening and approval of the Senate.

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, PDP, Abia North, who spoke on behalf of other PDP senators, said they are not considering waving any rule.
He said whoever is advising Buhari to become the oil minister, is not advising him rightly.

It is a claim in some quarters that President has the perogative to hold any official position...  It is for the legal experts to intervene.
