See The List Of All Local Government Chairmen Elected In Last LG Election In Ondo

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State on 23rd of April, 2016 conducted election in all the local governments of the state.



The election which was conducted in the 18 council areas of Ondo State. PDP candidates won 202 out of 203 councillorship positions in the State.

The only councillorship position lost by the ruling party was Ward 9, Oba Ile in Akure North Local Government Area where the PDP candidate lost to Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) candidate.

The Chairman of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), Professor Olugbenga Ige, who announced the results of the election officially at the
commission’s headquarters in Akure, said 14 political parties participated in the election.

He thereafter announced the following as the winners.

1. Oluwole Arowolo (Akoko North East) 
2. Aladetimehin Joseph Olusola (Akoko North West)
3. Agunloye Samuel Babasola (Akoko South East)
4. Abiodun Ogunbi (Akoko Douth West)
5. Babalola Bamidele (Akure North)
6. Alarapon Adebayo (Akure South)
7. Sobijoh Timiminiwei
8. Akingbaso Festus (Idanre)
9. Sola Adu (Ifedore)
10. Omomowo Agun-Ola (Ilaje)
11. Gbemibade Adetoro Folagbade (Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo)
12. Julius Elumare (Irele)
13. Raphael Ademulegun (Odigbo) 
14. Lai Ogunsire (Okitipupa).
15. Akinkuoie Gafar (Ondo East) 
16. Ogunya Victor Iranola (Ondo West) 
17. Awodeyi Osuma Ojo (Ose)
18. Olawunmi Oluwole Josiah (Owo).
