Opinion: Is Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Now Political?

The call by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) against the arrest or planned arrest of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is uncalled for and condemnable.

CAN which was established to foster unity amongst Christians and Christian bodies is gradually loosing the focus cum reason for its establishment.

The primary work of the association should be how to propagate the gospel of Christ but the present day CAN is loosing it by the day.

The association should only be interested in the betterment of this country through prayers and contribution meaningful to matters of national interest.

The resent statement accredited to the body, warning President Buhari not to arrest Jonathan is a show of shame and a pointer to the fact that the association is derailing.

As a Christian, I believe that we should all be accountable to all our deeds and misdeeds.

So if the anti-graft agency sees that the former President has a case to answer. Let him defend himself in court.

CAN should stop meddling with politics. condoning corruption under any guise is unacceptable and untenable.

The association should stop acting as an appendage of a political party. Nigeria belongs to us all.

Nothing shall divide us, not even religion.
