#Kano: INEC Suspends Minjibir State Constituency Election Due To Violence

The election of Minjibir State Constituency Election in Kano State was scheduled today, 30th of April has been postponed till further notice. 


The election which stated earlier today was characterised by electoral violence. On this premise, the election umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) decided to postpone it till a date to be announced later. 

This was made known by the statement released by the INEC. 

The statement reads:

"Following the violence, harassment and intimidation and snatching/destruction of election materials in the Minjibir state constituency election in Kano State today. 

INEC after consultation with the security agencies has decided to suspend the election. 

A new date will be announced later when INEC is satisfied that conditions are conducive for the safe conduct of the election." it ended.
