President Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari denies any cut in the salaries of his ministers as against the news that he has approved pay cut for his executive members.

This he stated through his senior special adviser on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.
Garba Shehu, SSA media and publicity
In his tweets, Garba Shehu itemised the mind of the president as to the rumour flying around.

His tweets read:
1. President @MBuhari has not tampered with the salaries and allowances of Federal Ministers.

2. They remain as they have been prescribed by the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission under a law passed in 2008.

3. The President and the Vice President have voluntarily offered a 50 percent salary cut.

4. This is voluntary and does not apply to Ministers and other political appointees.

5. Reports to the effect that the President has imposed an austere package on the ministers are unknown to us.

6. The administration has not tampered with the salaries of ministers and that remain as prescribed under the law.
