Chelsea Target Hakan Calhanoglu Banned For The Rest Of The Season... See Why |PoliFocus

Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu has been given a four month ban by Fifa over a contract breach dating back to 2011.

The Chelsea target, a free-kick specialist, will now miss all football until the end of the season after being handed the punishment by the world governing body.

It is due to an incident back in 2011 when German-born Turkey international Calhanoglu played for Karlsruhe.

A minor at the time, he had an agreement with Turkish side Trabzonspor in place – but instead he extended his Karlsruhe deal before joining Hamburg instead.

After a claim by Trabzonspor in 2013, Fifa believe this was a breach of contract against them and have subsequently banned the highly rated 22-year-old.
