Feb 6 Protest: Is Ruling APC Really Afraid Of Criticism?

On Monday February 6th, Nigerians will troop out to the street to show their grievances as to the ineptitude and bad ways the Buhari-led government is steering the ship of the economy admist the controversy surrounding his state of health in a United Kingdom hospital.

A renowned hip hop singer, Tuface Innocent Idibia took it upon himself to champion this course for a better Nigeria.

The planned protest has been generating ripples among the political class and most especially the youths.

For now, nothing seems to work positively for President Muhammadu Buhari. Naira is falling by the second, prices of foods and basic household items are skyrocketing beyond the reach of the common Nigerians.

The planned counter protest against this, tagged WalkWithBuhari is nothing but an act of cowardice and a calculated attempt to cause pandemonium.

Also the claim of the commissioner of police for Lagos state to stop the protest is undemocratic and satanic. All these attempts to gag the populace will surely come to nought!

In a saner clime, people are free to express their grievances as to any government policy/ies. Ours shouldn't be different.

I'm using this opportunity to call on all well-meaning Nigerians and social critics cum commentators to rescue Nigeria's nascent democracy from total collapse.

We say no to dictatorship and totalitarian system of government. Nigeria belongs to all.

This protest should be seen as a wake up call to all in the helms of affairs to retrace their steps and justify the confidence reposed on them at the poll.

PoliFocus wishes all that will be partaking in the scheduled match to be law abiding and do everything within the armpit of the law.

Nigeria will be great!
