Abuja Tribunal Judgements, Is Our Judiciary Now A Political Wing?

The resent elections tribunal judgements from FCT, Abuja have got everyone talking, not only the political gladiators and players.

It is no longer news that Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and his counterpart in Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel were floored in their different election tribunals which were held in FCT, Abuja.

In the case of Nyesom Wike, his election was nullified outrightly but a re-run was order in 18 local government areas in Akwa Ibom.

But the news now is that the election of Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was earlier today nullified by the election tribunal sitting in same Abuja and pronounced candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Aisha Alhassan popularly known as Mama Taraba the winner of the last gubernatorial election in the state.

On the ground that, governor Darius Ishaku was not properly nominated by his party, PDP.
That she (Mama Taraba) should be sworn in as governor of the state.

In the mean time, the incumbent governor, Darius Ishaku has made his intention known that he will challenge the judgment at the appellate court. As we all know that matters relating to gubernatorial election ends at the Appeal Court.

Before now, the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government of being mischievous by interfering with the judicial arm of government.

One may tend to believe in the claim of PDP in this regard. Some pertinent questions are to be asked:
1. Were the election tribunals shifted to Abuja due to security challenge truly?
3. Was their any sinister motive for relocating these election tribunals?

Three election tribunal judgements all from Abuja, favouring the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) may be seen as orchestrated plan of the ruling party to decimate the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party.

In Politics, one plus one cannot produce two always.
