Opinion: Is Ekiti Gradually Turning To 'Arms Begging' State? (Photos)
Ekiti State is a state known to have produced the largest professors in the history of Nigeria with antecedents of handwork, self-esteem and honour. Thereby justifying her slogan as Fountain of Knowledge and Land of Honour.

But all these attributes can be said to be things of the past as the present day Ekiti indigenes are now indolent begging for arms.

Larger percentage are now Okada riders and political thugs. It is lugubrious to see them queuing under the scorching sun just to get a 'rubber' of rice that worth just N300 and N200 cash.

The present government under the leadership of Ayodele Fayose has reduced or should I say deleted the honour of an average Ekiti man.

In my previous post, I asked in anger if Ekiti only needed a 'rubber' of rice and irritating money from the people in Governor.

I think governance is more than all the denigrating activities, social and basic amen should be provided. Employment opportunities and a serene environment where business can succeed, to the locals and internationals.

But the reverse is the case presently, I don't want to believe that Ekiti has sold her birthright for a pot of porridge.

It is my opinion that the Ekiti elders will check Governor Fayose so as to stop degrading Ekitis in the world map.

Being a governor is far different from being a community leader and moreover this is 2016. Ekiti should not afford to be running backwards while other states are achieving feats.
