Bombings: President Buhari Begs Niger Delta Avengers |PoliFocus

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent out an impassioned plea to militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, to put a halt to attacks on oil and gas pipelines throughout the country.

According to a Naijreport, the group claimed responsibility for a number of attacks on Nigeria's oil facilities and has vowed to continue the destruction should their demands not be met.
President Buhari made his plea on Thursday, asking the militants to stop their attacks "in God's name" and saying that their activities are crippling oil production and affecting the Nigerian economy harshly, Information Nigeria reports.

Buhari noted that several militant groups are operational within the Niger Delta, while claiming that the groups are armed with sophisticated weapons such as those used by Boko Haram.
