According to BBC, he gave Adam Lindin Ljungkvist two yellow cards, and finally a red, when he broke wind during a match.
The ref called Adam's flatulence "unsportsmanlike" and, according to Adam, thought he was "farting on someone else".
"I was shocked [I got sent off]," Adam tells Newsbeat. "The bench didn't believe me when I came to them and said I got a red card for farting!"
Adam, 25, plays for the Swedish team Pershagen SK, which is on the bottom tier of the Swedish league.
