Brad Pitt has reportedly been referred to the FBI following allegations of child abuse.

TMZ claims the actor is accused of “physical and verbal abuse” with police descending on the film star’s Hollywood Hills compound that he has previously shared with estranged wife Angelina Jolie.

The website reports that the52-year-oldis under investigation by the LAPD and LA County Department of Children and Family Services.

However, in a shock development, theLAPD denied that they are investigating any incidentinvolving the Fight Club star.

In a statement issued on Thursday, September 22, they said: “LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr. Brad Pitt.”

Sources told The Sun: “It is extremely high profile – so if the police had been called, they would be looking into it. It would be investigated fully.

“But there is no paperwork trail showing any kind of involvement from the police at all.”The Sun Online has not been able to confirm whether LA County Department of Children and Family Services are investigating.

The statement came after TMZ claimed to have spoken to sources close to the Jolie-Pitts.They apparently said that it was an incident that happened on a private jet last Wednesday that triggered the couple’s £310million divorce.

TMZ states that: “He allegedly went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids… theplane landed at an airport around 8pm, and witnesses say Pitt continued his rant on the tarmac, and even tried leaving in one of the fuel trucks.”
