Accord Guber Candidate Defects To APC In Ekiti

The governorship candidate of the Accord party in Ekiti State, Mr. Kole Ajayi, on Thursday, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection ceremony, which took place at Ward 4 in Ado Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, was attended by the acting Chairman of Accord in Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmi Akinyemi; Public Relations Officer of APC in the state, Mr Taiwo Olatubosun, party dignitaries and members.

In his speech, the Ward Chairman of APC, Mr . Sunday Omotosho, commended Mr. Ajayi, who is a lawyer, for his decision to come back to the party, saying that it was significant to note that Ajayi contested under Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ado Ekiti Constituency 1 for the state House of Assembly in 2003.

He enjoined the new entrant to use his wealth of experience to join hands with the leaders to build the party in the state.In his address, Ajayi thanked members of the party in the ward for accepting him back with open hands, saying that he was back to where he belonged.

He said his decision to join the APC was based on his belief that the party was implementing change in all spheres of life endeavours and the change mantra as being implemented by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He pledge his loyalty to the party leadership at all levels and urged members to be loyal and upright in their activities.
