EXCLUSIVE: Buhari Has No Economic Policy; Still 'Test Running' After 8 Months - Falana Ajibola

Aftermath of our decisions to vote President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on 28th of March, 2015.

It is exactly 10 months today since we took the historic decision, though there have been series of debates as regards the state of the nation now under the APC-led government.

Some are commending while some are castigating them, PoliFocus ran into a renowned social commentator, Mr Falana Ajibola, CEO Prestige and Integrity Limited with headquarters in Lagos.

Excerpt:

PF: Can we meet you Sir?

I am Ajibola Falana a true son on the soil who believed in justice and equality . A social commentator and political analyst.

PF: Can you tell us you why you decide to doing this most especially in Nigeria where larger percentage of people abhor the truth cum criticisms?

well, I do what I believe and in every thing I do and say I always have rethink and review of my action and action of people around me. I put people feelings first ahead of my personal gain

PF: Exactly 10 months ago, to be precise on 28th of March, 2015 Nigerians trooped out and voted for the incumbent President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. How best can you describe his government since he took over in May 29th?

Planning is the ultimate to success. who failed to plan, plan to fail. I will not categorically say PMB did not plan, but he never thought of challenges ahead of the government. firstly when different kind of birds are coming together without clear dinstition or definition of coming together, this kind of roforofo issues will definitely come out, well as for this government they stated with propaganda and now reality had started coming to play. The new sheriff with body language will speak when there was no political appointees, the moment the LANDLORD ( civil servant) realised that same of the same  they readjusted machinery in a smarter ways.

PF: I want you to talk about the first gubernatorial election conducted under the dispensation of APC, the Kogi Election that has been generating a lot of conundrums... Your stake on this

PMB meant well for the country but what of others people around him. This another angle that PMB needs to watch his back. he should have listening ear and do the right thing at the right time. PMB cannot spent more than two terms of 8years. it shouldn't be Buhari but institutions. we need to build strong institutions even a boy of 30yrs or a man of 100 years will be able to run Nigeria govt. with the election of Kogi out of 36 states still all attention, security etc at end of the day inconclusive, it is a shame to us. By now I wonder why the INEC board has not been constituted. How many commissioners do we have out of 13. The two elections conducted so far is abysmal. we are waiting for Edo whether there will be an improvements before that of Ondo state.

PF: Still on Kogi, it has made an history in Nigeria as the state that will have a Swearing-in of the governor without deputy, first of its kind.

Laugh!!!! this is going to be sorted out at the court. I am not a lawyer. but I know the drama is not yet over. Though Hon James Falake has a good case as a person but as party man he has no case. Morally, as a party loyalist and man, there is hierarchy in any political Party. when your party take a decision you should abide by it. Assuming, APC suspended Falake from the party which mandate will he be taking about. This is pure impunity of highest order. There must be somebody hiding somewhere beating the drum for Faleke

PF: It is true that the decision of the party is supreme but don't you think that he should be approached by the NWC of his party? Or you want him expunged for painting the party in bad image?

we are not sincere in our approach. you can are similarities between what happened now and that of Saraki and Dogara, because of one interest nobody is calling this guy to order. well this is an antecedent tomorrow somebody else will make reference to this as a case study

PF: Let's talk about Bayelsa now... There was palpable tension in the build up to the election and it was in the news that many people died and others maimed.

without putting word in my mouth, you should expect such now . During the primary of APC we all witnessed how Edo Governor ,Adams Oshiomhole escaped. What else do you except we should not make politics a do or die affairs. Thank God  Bayelsa electorate picked their choice. Though you cannot rule out PDP did not cause problems at all. But APC had already prepared for a bad day.

PF: That will take me back to national politics, what can you say to Gulak's invasion of the PDP National secretariat?

we are coming gradually 2019 that is the handwritten on the wall. In politics you project ahead. some smart guys had started calculation toward 2019.

PF: Before I let you go, US dollar is now N302, Nigerians in diaspora lamenting about the new economic policies of Buhari, your reaction?

As at today we have not gotten any economy policy. The direction we are going we don't know yet. Maybe by the time this government stop test running we shall one policy.  you see when you afraid of failure you might end up . The economy term of this administration are still on paper work . you can see the budget  with different figure without perfect explanation. well I pray the earlier the better for everybody.

PF: Lemme allow you to go now, thanks for your time. We will discuss the issue of the budget in another interview session, I know you have a lot to say on it. Any advice for President Buhari and the ruling APC?

Thank you very much to APC campaign time is over no more propaganda. how long will they continued with blame game. From m Jonathan to IBB to PDP and God. To PMB I pray the good plan he had for this country his cabinet will give him better support so that he will not disappointed the love we have for him.
