[Sports] Glo Ends Sponsorship Deal With NPFL

One of the telecommunication giants in Nigeria, Globacom, has ended their sponsorship of the Nigerian Professional FootballLeague (NFPL).

According to former Super Eagles media officer and respected sports journalist, Colin Udoh, the partnershipended with the conclusion of the pre-season Super Four tournament last week in Uyo.

He posted on Twitter: “Glo sponsorship of the Nigerian Professional Football League has ended with the conclusion of the Super Four on 05.02.2016 in Uyo

“Both parties (Glo/NPFL) have agreed to a mutual parting of ways. @LMCNPFL is replacing title sponsorship with 6-tier elite partnership model.”

Globacom agreed a three-year deal worth N1.8billion with the NPFL in 2013.
