A Call For A Law To Prohibit Learners From Driving At Night

My personal experience ignite my decision to come out with this article. It is not far from the truth that we are all learners at one point or another.

Learners (L) are regarded as the drivers that are still learning how to use the highways when on the wheels.

During this period, basic things regarding driving and highway signs are taught.

But safety belongs to all. The outfits regulating the activities of the road users such as Federal Road safety Corps (FRSC) and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) should please come with a lofty plan to checkmate this ugly trend.

The 'L' is succinctly enough to preach to the other road users that the person driving the car with such inscription is a learner.

This will in no small measure allocate a percentage of respect and priorities while on the wheels but doing this clandestinely is uncalled for and unacceptable.

The lawmakers should promulgate a law that will make it a crime to any vehicle with a learning logo to move after 7pm everyday.

I saw an accident involving a learner around 8:30pm and was touched to marrow, not only because of the gravity of the accident but that such accident was avoidable if there was a law that prohibits late night movement of such category of drivers.

The day should be used for learning, say experimentation and even an expert driver should be in same vehicle with the learner, but the pathetic situation is that, how many people are following this to the letter.

Hitting the road as a greenhorn driver should be criminalised. Every driver should be forced to get a valid driver's licence and getting same by proxy should be erased.

This will reduce the quirk of fate of avoidable accidents on our roads.
