Following the five year-jail term she bagged on Saturday as pronounced by Justice Deborah Oluwayemi of a Lagos High Court, Ibinabo Fiberesima of the Actors Guild of Nigeria has pleaded with Nigerians to pray for her.

The embattled actress was sentenced for the death of one Dr Giwa Suraj who she killed in an auto accident along Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.

Her lawyer, Nnaemeka Amaechina, had urged the court to set aside an earlier sentence and restore the decision of the Magistrates’ Court which sentenced her to a N100, 000 fine.

But, delivering judgment yesterday, the appellate court dismissed the appeal and affirmed the High Court’s judgment.

In her words few hours after the judgment, Ibinabo on her Facebook page, begged her friends, fans and foes alike to pray for her as she faces the reality of returning to prison.

She wrote, “Pray for me.”

However, when contacted, Ibinabo’s Personal Assistant confirmed to Vanguard that the once cheerful actress had been speechless since the judgment was delivered.

According to her, “My boss has been feeling unwell since the judgment was delivered.

“She just had an operation. We are afraid it doesn’t affect her health,” the PA noted.
