PDP Judicial Melee: Open Letter To Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) By Adewale 'Damilare Charles |PoliFocus

I'm pressed to write you this open letter in the wake of the judiciary rascalitily tossing your party around. For record I'm not a card-carrying member of your party nor any party at the moment, but I'm a staunch and unrepentant believer of a Nigeria project.

The judicial snafu bedevilling your party at the moment can't but be traced to the 'shocking' electoral defeat you suffered at the last 2015 general election.

It is obvious that you didn't see it coming and till now yet to recover from the comatose the event has put your party.

Be that as it may, the last election has come and gone. What is expected of the former ruling party turns opposition party is to provide sound opposition and criticism to the present administration so as to put it on its toes.

But what we see it display of divisions with the ranks of the party. My candid advice is for you to put your house in order first.

Call a meeting where all the aggrieved members will be given ample opportunity to speak out their minds and from there, you can chart a way forward. Makarfi and Ali Modu Sheriff are not bigger than the party.

I'm of Paul, I'm of Apollo will not save the party but sink it! Remember what your former Chairman, Bamanga Tukur did. He singlehandedly sold your party out due to his highhandedness, which led to various factions in the party.
Which gave birth to 'New PDP', which later formed a strong alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).... The rest is now history.

Like a popular saying, it is not a mistake to make a mistake but repeat same might not be unforgivable.

The present Buhari-led administration can't be said to be delivering all the lofty promises it made before the poll, all what we hear and see is so so denials of electioneering promises!

In some quarters APC now means All Promises Cancelled... This is true to an extent.

Virtually nothing is working at the moment, this is where you have to play your role without 'bitterness' as an opposition.

Your party needs a total overhaul and people of high integrity and caliber should be given the enabling environment to lead, not people of questionable characters.
In my opinion, I will suggest that you forget about the illegal or say kangaroo National Convention... It will sink your party the more.

Let me quick to add that most of us are apolitical but only believe in good governance. Make hay while the sun shines.
