Two Shot In A Primary School In South Carolina |PoliFocus

Two children and a teacher have been injured in a shooting at a primary school in Townville, South Carolina.

A teenage suspect is in custody, and police say that all children are now safe. The students have been relocated to a nearby church.

According to BBC, the shooting took place at 13:00 local time (17:00 GMT) at the Townville Elementary School, which is home to 286 students, according to local media.

Local officials say the children's injuries are not life-threatening. SWAT teams have searched the school and confirmed that no threats remain.
Both child victims were transported to hospital by helicopter.

Officials are also investigating the discovery of a dead body that was found 1.5 miles (2.4 km) away from the school.
That person, who has not been identified, may be involved in the shooting, Anderson County Coroner Greg Shoretold local media.

Nearby schools were placed on "Code Yellow" meaning that lessons continued but nobody is allowed inside the buildings.
Parents received a text alert from the school district informing them of the shooting, and telling them where to pick up their kids.

Mothers and fathers have been tearfully reunited with their children at the Oakdale Baptist Church.
The traffic queue of parents picking up their children is reportedly a mile long.
