For as long as he can remember, the 48-year-old construction worker from Sao Paulo in Brazil has been yearning to be as strong as his hero Arnold Schwarzenegger. He trotted down the bodybuilding path to shake off the stereotype of an emaciated little boy that hunted him during his childhood and led to some people mocking him as “skinny dog.”
“There was a time in my life when I got involved with wrong things,” Valdir said point at the time he lost weight drastically for being addicted to drugs, adding that he decided to turn his life upside down by hitting the gym.
In order to further bulk up, Valdir started to inject synthol, a kind of potentially lethal oil, five years ago despite the risks it holds. “The doctors tell me to stop it” he said, “but it’s my decision to use it because I want to, because I like to.”
The oil instilled into muscle has inflated the diameter of his biceps to 60 centimeters, but that does not seem to be enough. He wants to pump up his arms by another 10 centimeters.
His scary physique has deterred him from finding love, but Valdir is not disturbed.
“I don’t have any regrets. I look at myself in the mirror and I like the way I look” said the man in sheer confidence.
