#2016Budget: Scrutinise The Budget Thoroughly, PoliFocus Urges NASS Members

The revelations and counter revelations about the tagged 'BUDGET OF CHANGE' is a great concern to all well-meaning Nigerians.

The drama that played out as to its misplacement can best be described as a spoof. How on earth will a budget of a nation with over 160 millions be declared missing!?

The polarity that the ignoble trend generated between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can't be described with words.

This inauspicious start by the ruling APC is not encouraging at all. Though the patchy development only occur in the Senate.

Going by the breakdown at my disposal, the amount allocated to be spent in the Aso Villa only is condemnable. But the issue of school feeding, social packages for jobless and less privileged is a welcome development.

The members of the National Assembly should do the needful by cutting down all irrelevant proposed spendings.

The leadership of both the Senate and House of Representatives should take their time to thoroughly work on the documents.

Politics shouldn't come to play here but loyalty and patriotism to ones country.

The dwindling price of crude oil is something to make Buhari cut down these proposed 'humongous' so-called budget of CHANGE.

But the legislators can adjust the documents to match the present day economic realities.

No one expects perfection from the President Buhari-led government but his government rode on accountability and probity.

This he should not only preach to us but act same to us! We are tired of empty promises.

We all chased away Goodluck Jonathan because we perceived he was to weak to fight corruption and better our lots.

But President Muhammadu Buhari should know that the same treatment can be meted out to him if he fails woefully in his electioneering promises.

Like my regular chorus, we can CHANGE the CHANGE if there is a need to CHANGE the CHANGE!!

.........we are watching.
