#EkitiGate: Aftermath Of Aluko's Confession, What Next???

Dr. Tope Aluko on Channels TV
Sequel to the resurrection of the popular #EkitiGate on Channels TV yesterday, it is pertinent to make a reference to the leaked audio tape that Captain Sagir Koli released about the build up to the election.

It is no longer news that last Ekiti gubernatorial election was held on June 21, 2014 but conundrum that the election is generating is getting more complex by the day.

Yesterday on Channels TV,  embattled Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tope Aluko popular known as TKO corroborated virtually all the claims of Captain Koli but was refuted by Lere Olayinka, who is the Special Adviser on Information and New Media to Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Aluko who posited that he fell out of grace because Fayose reneged on his promise of making him the Chief of Staff to the governor after winning election.

He said, they both sworn with the Bible when sealing the agreement.

When defending the governor,  Mr Lere Olayinka said Aluko is not strange to him that he is a person of questionable character. He went ahead to say that Aluko was dismissed from the state owned varsity due to admission racketeering and sharp practices.

When reacting, Aluko debunked Olayinka's claim, saying he is a retiree of the institution and that is is still collecting his pension.

It will be recalled that Nigerian Army set up a committee to look into the involvement of its men as to the election but we can only say less about it now because the summary of the report is in the public domain, not the comprehensive copy.

Can this revelations and counter revelations have effect on the election that the highest court of the land, Supreme Court has consented to?

Only time will tell.
