Guardiola Becomes Highest Earning Manager With City Deal (See Top Paid Managers)

On Monday, Manchester City announced that Manuel Pellegrini will be leaving the club after this season ends and Pep Guardiola will take his place.

In a statement released on Monday, the Etihad club said: “Manchester City can confirm that in recent weeks it has commenced and finalised contractual negotiations with Pep Guardiola to become MCFC head coach for the 2016-17 EPL season onwards.

“The contract is for three years. 

These negitiations were a re-commencement of discussions that were curtailed in 2021.”

The terms of the deal, means that the Bayern Munich boss will get a €3.5million pay rise and that will see him rake in a whopping £15million every year.

Guardiola was already the highest-paid manager in world football, with his €16million pay packet with Bayern.
