See Why Emir Sanusi Dethroned His Younger Brother As Village Head

Emir Lamido Sanusi
Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi ll, has dethroned the younger brother to Kano State Governor, Alhaji Sani Umar Ganduje, as village head of Ganduje Dawakin Tofa local government over alleged financial misappropriation.

Some intending pilgrims had petitioned the emir on alleged misappropriation by the village head leading to botched pilgrimage last year.

The emir, who announced the dethronement of the village head during the palace sitting on Monday, said the dismissed village head, Sani Umar Ganduje have been accused of defrauding people money meant for hajj operation.

Kano emirate council had earlier suspended the village head to pave way for investigation.

The deposed village head was also accused of using his brother’s position as governor of the state to intimidating people.

“We have deposed a village head who was found involved in this offence. We took the decision because as a traditional ruler, he should be a role model to others and not to be promoting this kind of action in thesociety”, Sanusi said.
