Dimitrov Knocks British Number One Andy Murray Out Of Miami Open

British number one and world number two Andy Murray has been knocked out of the ongoing Miami Open after he lost to Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in the third round.

Andy Murray, 28, was beaten 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 6-3 ‎by the Bulgarian Dimitrov having been 3-1 up in the third and final set before later admitting to reporters that“a lot of unforced errors crept into my game”. Murray is now expected to return to Europe for the clay-court season.

In the women’s draw, British number one Johanna Konta became the first ‎British woman to reach the quarter-finals in Miami with a 6-2 6-2 win over Romania’s Monica Niculescu to set up a last eight meeting with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus.

Speaking afterwards, Konta said:“It felt like we had a lot of close games and I had to work hard for every single point.”
