PoliFocus: Opinion: Appropriation Bill Impasse: Kudos To Buhari For Not Taking 'Table Of Contents For A Book'

The lingering invisible cold war between the the Senate and the presidency might have been extended to the issue of Appropriation Bill.

Some couple of days ago, the 'controversial' budget was passed by the legislative arm and the documents now awaits the assent of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The issues generated by the documents cannot be forgotten in a giffy.

Buhari has opined that he cannot sign the budget unless he sees the details.

President Muhammadu Buhari should be applauded for saying no to signing the budget based on only the 'table of contents'.

The National Assembly should quickly send the details of the budget before he assents.

You don't expect a man that knows what he is doing to go ahead and sign without convincing him why N17 billion was removed from his sketch.

Though going by history, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo actually signed same without seeing the details unlike Late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua that bent on seeing the details.

Seeing or not seeing the details is the sole decision of the Mr President and for the present government to bent on that should be appreciated, I think he is trying to be cautious.

We Nigerians should please bear with his Excellency, we will stand to benefit from this cautious steps of his.
