Seven Ministers Set To Resign (The Reason Will Shock You)

At least seven ministers may soon quit President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, reports NewsDay.

This is because of the austere posture of the current administration. The affected ministers it was gathered are groaning because the N4 million approved by President Muhammadu Buhari as their yearly accommodation allowance have not been able to rent any meaningfulhouse in Abuja.

A number of the ministers are currently stranded. The ministers it was learnt have secretly written a protest letter presumably indicating their intention toquit.
THISDAY had reported that except for some of the ministers who were either state governors or members of the National Assembly, before joining the cabinet and had houses in Abuja, the rest were said to be either living in hotels or squatting in the Guest Houses owned by their states.

All appeals by the ministers to the President to jack up the money from N4m to N20 million have been rebuffed. The President was said to have balked at increasing the accommodation allowance to N20 million on the grounds that the administration could suffer a backlash from the public.

Apart from the ministers, the senior political appointees recruited to help the administration on key areas are not fairing better.

These class of officials have merely been receiving their salaries and nothing more, unlike in previous administrations where ministers special advisers and assistants had a bouquet of allowances. —News24
