Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Takuma Asano from Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
The Gunners confirmed on Sunday, that a transfer is imminent “subject to the completion of a medical and regulatory processes”.
Manager Arsene Wenger, expressed his joy at landing the 21-year-old Japan international.
He said: “Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future.
“He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years.”
Asano, who made his debut against North Korea in August 2015, has five senior caps for Japan.
He has also been named in the country’s U-23 squad to play in the 2016 Olympics.
