West Bromwich Albion Sign Matty Philips From QPR On A Four-year Deal |PoliFocus

West Bromwich Albion have made their first signing of the summer transfer window with the capture of Scotland winger Matty Phillips from Queens Park Rangers.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-yearcontract after moving to the Hawthorns for an undisclosed fee. 
"We're really pleased to have Matty onboard," head coach Tony Pulis told the club's website."

This is a great chance for him to show everyone he belongs in the top-flight of English football.

"Phillips, who has scored four goals in 52 Premier League appearances for Blackpool and QPR, will join up with his new club in time for a pre-season fitness camp in Austria. 

"He's a great acquisition because he adds to the versatility within the group," technical director Nick Hammond added."

He gives us both wide positions and is also able to play as a central striker."The Baggies open up their pre-season campaignwith fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on 13 July.

They travel to Crystal Palacefor their first fixture of the 2016/17 Premier League season on 13 August.
